    I'm sorry I can't answer your questions because I work for a company that makes etched plaques, but I have never been to the plant where they are made. We take orders from customers for plaques and that part I know how to do, so I just placed an order for myself.

    I would recommend that you do the same thing but you cannot buy from us directly as we only deal with sign professionals and trophy shops. So you would have to come up with a design and save it as a vectorized art file, then go to a sign shop or trophy shop and they will place the order for you with our company. I don't want to say the name of the company because I don't know if that's allowed on here, but we are the biggest supplier of sign letters and plaques in north america. Hope this helps.

      +Manish Kumar When I made these I was working for a sign company. Part of what we did was make plaques. I ordered a 1/8" thick brass plaque and the design was a vectorized art file. I would suggest you go to a sign or trophy shop. They can create the art file if you are not able to produce vector files yourself. They will also order the plaque on your behalf. If you do this I would recommend you order that the acid-etched plaque be etched extra deep. The company I worked for was called Gemini. Hope this helps.

    A few questions. Did you use vinyl as the pattern or 'resist'. What chemical did you use for the etching? Ferric Chloride from Radio Shack? Lastly, how do you prevent the acid from eating away from the backside of the plate. More vinyl tape?

    what gauge wire did you use?

    • @wm17959
      @wm17959  8 років тому +1

      +kim rumberger I don't know the gauge but what I used was one of those clamps used on air ducts. I can't post pictures on here but they consists of a hoop-shaped wire with a nut and bolt to tighten the hoop around a pipe. Here's a link and I hope this works:
      www.aliexpress.com/item/Stainless-steel-wire-hoop-diameter-20-2mm-good-quality-Double-wire-hose-clamps-stainless-steel-Clamps/32546148132.html?spm=2114.40010308.4.6.QP0fbN
      These are available at building supply stores. The wire is much tougher than coat-hanger wire so it worked out very well for this. I hope this helps.
