Someone with just 1k probably won't own their own home, so putting it into a "help to buy" isa and getting that 25% bonus is surely a must. If you buy well on your first house, (the right upcoming area or something that you can add value too) you will be able to borrow more at a later point to create your first deposit.

I've just got to the stage where it has donned on me that my current career path is not going to do me well in retirement! Been following for a few months now and this video is what should be pinned at the top of your feed if it isn't already - I came to the same conclusion myself (i.e. put my money into an S&P500 ISA) - whilst I have aspirations of getting into the property market, in reality I'm so far off being able to due to both a lack of 1) money and 2) experience. I watch a lot of investment portfolio videos and the people in them have 20k+ invested. One of them has 250k invested, so that’s most likely why I feel like my soon to be £1000 is inadequate.

Others make it sound amazing and go on about how much money you can make without giving enough information about how that actually works. Great video! Not comparing yourself to others is great advice, also target saving/investing in %’s rather than £’s is another tip i’d give... that way when your earnings increase your savings/investments grow in parallel

I think getting into property now is just so difficult.... prices are sky rocketing and it’s a buyers market for those who already have the money. My family are in the property business and having just purchased my first property I wouldn’t have been able to without the help of being on a large salary and having a massive deposit thanks to parents otherwise it’s nearly impossible... but anyways great videos keep up the good work nothing is impossible
It may seem like that with the prices where you live. Take a look further away from you. Theres cheap property to be had all over the country, think small university towns, small seaside towns. It may feel uncomfortable but it’s only a case of getting in the car and getting a hotel for the night to view the area. Then you can always use video calls to check in on contractors doing any renovations, if they’re not happy to video call then maybe they’re not the contractor for you
I suspect his answer, before watching is: buy an iphone. Edit: I was wrong. It would be great to see a video on different ways to fund starting. By that I mean Jamie's comment about credit cards, does that mean business loans are viable?
What is a good first job in property to help build up any sort of knowledge around property investment? My long-term objective is to invest in property's but I currently lack the funds as well as the experience and knowledge of the property industry. I'm graduating this year in engineering and my salary will most definitely be around 27k a year. That's okay its something you can live on but you are soooo limited isn't really worth doing 3-4 years at university for it. I hear you need at least 60k a year to live comfortably so i have been looking into starting my own business but obviously you need a lot of money and different ideas. So then i started looking into property/real estate but still the way im thinking is on mortgage it'll be 420 roughly for a small house per month and you can charge 720 a month for tenants but still that's not alot of money. So now i am investing in crypto but still i need more ideas for multiple incomes i can generate whilst working. Any ideas?

Here in the UK you graduate with a degree and you try and get a graduate job but someone told me even if you get a degree in the US you have to work at little jobs like fast food restaursnts to build up from there which is weird whats the point of a degree

It's a one bedroom flat with me thinking of changing the living room into another bedroom. With potentially putting each bedroom on £500 rent per month. Mate! Loved this video! I’m at the 50k but will be honest I only got here being Uber conservative with my money over the last 3 years.. I’ve had over 50k before and “had” to “lend” it to my parents to pull them out of the shit! So ultimately when they sell I should be at 100k but I’m not really very confident in them at all and it has proven to be a mistake…. My logic was they lose the house I lose the inheritance down the line either way! Anyway the point is now I’m just to “scared” to put this money to work as it’s all I’ve got and without this “safety net” I feel pretty vulnerable! Any advice on how to overcome this fear?
Hi if I had 5k my problem Is I'm disabled and if I go over a set amount they stop all my benefits and I have a wife as my carer and a child to think about how could I earn enough to pay the bills It just seems impossible when you're disabled I just wish I could still work It's no life wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy
Hey Will, sounds like a unusual predicament. Maybe you need to look at how much you need to earn to cover what you're getting at the moment and work how to achieve that
Also getting a mortgage is just so fucking long now lol took me 4 and a half months to get my lending and I had allllll my paperwork bank statements etc in order

Congrats! It's definitely done well, and should maybe be 1-3% of anyones investment portfolio. Personally I wouldn't put more than that into it due to the risk and unknowns at this stage!

I'm graduating this year in engineering and my salary will most definitely be around 27k a year. That's okay its something you can live on but you are soooo limited isn't really worth doing 3-4 years at university for it. I hear you need at least 60k a year to live comfortably so i have been looking into starting my own business but obviously you need a lot of money and different ideas. So then i started looking into property/real estate but still the way im thinking is on mortgage it'll be 420 roughly for a small house per month and you can charge 720 a month for tenants but still that's not alot of money. So now i am investing in crypto but still i need more ideas for multiple incomes i can generate whilst working. Any ideas?

Here in the UK you graduate with a degree and you try and get a graduate job but someone told me even if you get a degree in the US you have to work at little jobs like fast food restaursnts to build up from there which is weird whats the point of a degree

Mate! Loved this video! I’m at the 50k but will be honest I only got here being Uber conservative with my money over the last 3 years.. I’ve had over 50k before and “had” to “lend” it to my parents to pull them out of the shit! So ultimately when they sell I should be at 100k but I’m not really very confident in them at all and it has proven to be a mistake…. My logic was they lose the house I lose the inheritance down the line either way! Anyway the point is now I’m just to “scared” to put this money to work as it’s all I’ve got and without this “safety net” I feel pretty vulnerable! Any advice on how to overcome this fear?

Hi if I had 5k my problem Is I'm disabled and if I go over a set amount they stop all my benefits and I have a wife as my carer and a child to think about how could I earn enough to pay the bills
It just seems impossible when you're disabled I just wish I could still work

Hey Will, sounds like a unusual predicament. Maybe you need to look at how much you need to earn to cover what you're getting at the moment and work how to achieve that
Also getting a mortgage is just so fucking long now lol took me 4 and a half months to get my lending and I had allllll my paperwork bank statements etc in order

Might of been easier going with a broker. I work in a mortgage broker in London and we do most of the work for you and chase up with solicitors etc
