10/10 battle-report as always gents. Jolly good show :)
Must say as a Drukhari player, it was interesting seeing how many times the drukhari army could have re-rolled all their hit rolls and secured the kill if they were using the old detachment, but because the new detachment dosen't give any extra pain tokens, Stephen had to scrape by and make do with so few of them.
The new Stratagem tricks were nice to see - it's awesome knowing what the new detachment 'could' do ... if only it gave you more pain tokens and CP to play around with.
Good news is the non-detachment specific buffs were still amazing. Watching the Archon join the Incubi and re-rolling all the wound rolls with +1 AP was glorious😁. All Hail our new Incubi masters :)P
Awesome game! I think cronos are kind of mandatory at least as a 1 of. Especially when you don't get the extra tokens from RSR. Having the extra potential pain tokens really goes a long way.
I run 3 and make a pain token farm for the first round or 2
I believe there’s a mis-reading of the rules commentary note about damage characteristics on things such as melta versus half damage effects. It is unchanged from before - melta and positive modifiers happen after the halving or reduction. The rules commentary just clarified that in cases like “D6+2” as the damage characteristic listed for dark lances - the “+2” part is not a modifier.

Heads up though you're incorrect about how Melta damage works at 1:18:00. The rules for this haven't changed, they just clarified that weapons like lascannon that have a base characteristic of d6+1 don't half the D6 then +1. Melta damage is still a modifier and gets applied after half damage modifiers.

You can't nerf the Lord Solar because of the Guard's situation atm. The whole army would fall apart and win rates would plummet..
Indeed. A point made in VY's how to play video for that faction. He's an almost auto take which is a pity. Would you maybe give tank commanders an extra command?

I'll likely ask this the next time general questions go up for the podcast, too, but I have a serious question about you gentlemen play the game on stream:
You play the game "competitively" (quotes because y'all are way more friendly with each other and with minor mistakes, advice, etc, than nearly anyone I've ever played at a tournament, unless it's been friends of mine going into the game), but you never want to know the scores before the absolute end of the game. That information is freely available in a tournament setting, and often changes the way that turns 4 and 5 are played- I've often gotten to the midpoint of a game and realized that I needed to play to minimize my opps points, and needed secondaries that didn't involve moving (or killing, or characters, etc). Why is that? And I guess the real question is: Am I missing something related to this, and in effect playing the game incorrectly because of it- is knowing the score akin to counting cards in blackjack?

Have been playing wraithblades for a few weeks. They're really good, but I don't play them this way. For me they hold a flank objective and sit there doing actions. Very hard to kill and shift.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but those wyches cannot benefit from both Lelith's bonuses and the Sucubus's bonuses. A unit can only have 1 Leader attached to them, and both Lelith and the Sucubus only provide their bonuses to the unit they are attached to.
Lelith and the Succubus were attached to separate units though and Steve got their bonuses right.

Good game thanks! But a bit of a drukhari missed opportunity in round 3 charge phase. Wyches should have charged only Eldrad. Putting 4-5 wyches into base to base with space between. Then string back Lelith so she is closest to Fuegan. Then Fuegan can't activate and lelith can still pile into Fuegan and kill him. That way you can start with the activation with the big Incubi squad killing problably most of the Wraithblades - atleast critical numbers so it might not even be worth it to interrupt. Makes sense?
Given that Fuegen only has 5 attacks and Wyches have a 4++ in combat I don't think it made sense to activate them first regardless, should have gone with the Incubi+Archon first to try and kill the Spiritseer and as many Wraiths as possible.

Yeah I really don't think Drukhari winrate is gonna improve. Whilst the detachment is amazing, in theory, it requires too much CP and too many pain tokens, and it simply can't get either quick enough.
Power from pain should be changed to start on 6, not 3, and Drukhari need a way to gain or refund CP. Then they'd be actually quite good.

No, they're Harlequins, which Drukhari can include in their army because of the Traveling Players rule. Their datasheet is in the Aeldari index.

He has a reroll, so he can use the fate for before using his reroll.

That seems bad since your 'wasting' your free Eldar RR basically.

He makes his first roll. Fails. Declares the reroll and replaces that roll with a fate die. He "wastes" his reroll but he gets to attempt a roll and possibly avoid wasting a fate die

I really dont like the bad sportsmanship even in jest, it sets a bad precedent.
Both myself and Jake are very dry and Sarcastic. If you are familiar with the channel we have spearheaded sportmanship and FairPlay. You have to appreciate me and Jake play all of the time and often our in jokes and banter may be missed.

@@VanguardTactics You guys have absolutely been great at encouraging proper sportsmanship and I commend you for your actions. While I understand it seems a pretty unfair to be held to a higher level of scrutiny than a person not in the public, because you are (even in this smaller environment) public figures people will see the actions you take that would be entirely appropriate between friends in private and apply it to interactions where it isnt appropriate.
This is just a suggestion, not me trying to make inapropriate demands. I have just seen this happen in other communities before I hope you can understand that I think it makes a better space for the people in out hobby.
I think it's clear watching the BR that these are good friends who are playing a game together.
The expectations players' behaviour in a competitive environment and the one this game in played in are, understandably different.
If you have ever watched any of the VT guys play in a tournament stream you will have seen the extremely high level of sportsmanship they exhibit whilst playing there.
You can't reasonably ask them not to crack the occasional joke when playing in this, very different, setting.
