Megamind: Ultimate Showdown emerged as a 3D platformer video game inspired by the Megamind franchise. Developed by THQ Studio Australia for console and Tantalus for handheld, it was published by THQ in collaboration with DreamWorks Animation. The game debuted on November 2, 2010, for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, coinciding with the film's premiere. However, it garnered harsh criticism from reviewers for its lackluster storyline, uninspired gameplay, and notably low difficulty level.
Additionally, another game titled Megamind: The Blue Defender saw its release on PSP and DS platforms. In terms of gameplay, players assume the role of Megamind, wielding his De-Gun to vaporize foes. In the console version, hidden loot and upgrades are scattered throughout, attainable through Blue Ion Nano-Kinetic Energ-Y (B.I.N.K.E.Y.). Meanwhile, in the handheld version, players can level up weapons and gather ammo from defeated adversaries.
Although most of the original film's cast were substituted with stand-in voice actors, Jonah Hill reprised his role as Hal Stewart / Titan. The game's plot revolves around Megamind's quest to thwart the Doom Syndicate, a group of villains who have captured Metro Man and harnessed Megamind's DNA. As players progress through the game, they traverse Metro City, confronting adversaries like the Destruction Worker, Psycho Delic, and Hot Flash, ultimately facing off against Titan. Despite its flaws, Megamind emerges victorious, reclaiming Metro City from peril.
In terms of reception, the game fared poorly, garnering generally unfavorable reviews. Metacritic aggregated scores of 43/100 for the PlayStation 3 version and 33/100 for Xbox 360, reflecting disappointment among critics. Official Xbox Magazine rated the Xbox 360 version 3/10, citing mediocre graphics as its sole redeeming quality. Meanwhile, Computer and Video Games awarded the game 1.8/10, criticizing its repetitive gameplay and lack of innovation. Adam Wolfe of PlayStation LifeStyle rated the PS3 version 4/10, highlighting its decent platforming mechanics but lamenting its repetitive nature and lackluster narrative.

I'm willing to bet Megamind 2 had really bad voice direction, which is why Keith Ferguson sounds so much better here than he did in that movie

It's embarrassing how this movie tie-in game is higher quality than Megamind's official sequel

@@goofynut. As much as I wish this wasn't the case, Megamind vs. the doom sindicate was made by dreamworks and is therefore an official sequel. To say otherwise is to be in denial.

I played the Wii version of the game and it was a completely different game. Rather than a platformer, it was a multiplayer Side scroller. You fight villains as MegaMind, Minion, Metroman and Titan and when you defeat a boss they become a playable character.
Yeah because of nintendos glaring obsolescence with hardware, they have to remake a game rather than porting the original.
I literally didn't know Megamind had a video game looks of course nicer.

Megamind a blue headed male alien man is voiced by Will Ferrell later by Keith Ferguson who replaced not only Will Ferrell but Owen Wilson in all 3 Cars games & shorts Roxanne Richie i.e. Lois Lane is voiced by Tina Fey Minion voiced by David Cross later voicing Crane a red crowned crane bird in Kung Fu Panda franchise Metro Man is voiced by Brad Pitt & Hal Stewart aka Titan in regular form & Blue form voiced by Jonah Hill 14 in film then by 16 in game.
