Brilliant. The project has made a number of appearances on UA-cam but this is the first full tutorial I've seen. Better than my own UA-cam tutorial I had years ago (I took it down because it was rubbish). I have linked to this video on the project page. The reason I designed it was the same reason you mention. I wanted to replace a 2364 without an ugly adapter board hanging off it!

Make sure you are downloading/installing Arduino IDE 1.8.19 - if you use defaults, it installs all the runtimes in C:\Program Files (x86)\Arduino\hardware\tools\avr\bin

I am putting together the EPROM programmer shield for the MCS-48. I have the PCB and components. I’m in the process of installing the firmware on my Arduino Mega board, following the UA-cam video from Reviving Retro. I go to the command prompt, enter the following and get an error. I am hoping someone can point to a simple typo I may have made.
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Arduino\hardware\tools\avr\bin>avrdude -C “C:\Program Files (x86)\Arduino\hardware\tools\avr\etc\avrdude.conf” -v -p atmega2560 -c wiring -P COM7 -b 115200 -D -U flash:w:hveprom.hex:1
avrdude OS error: cannot open config file C:\Program Files (x86)\Arduino\hardware\tools\avr\bin\ôC:\Program: Invalid argument
avrdude error: unable to process system wide configuration file C:\Program Files (x86)\Arduino\hardware\tools\avr\bin\ôC:\Program
    Thank you!

@@revivingretro Thank you! I had typed the string into a word document so I could just copy and paste into the command line, and never thought of confusing the number 1 with the letter i. In the meantime, I ended up using the Ardunio Builder utility and was able to flash my Arduino Mega board. I have it working, and have run through the tests, with the exception of 10 of 10, which I will do shortly. I am using the unit to program 8755A EPROMS, and now in the process of putting the adapter together. Just need to find some decent pin headers.

@@user-fb2wu7bp7p Happy you got it working - I use a legacy TopMax programmer, but this was a fun project. :) Amazon or AliExpress have been my sources for pin headers ;)
