Holly should absolutely join your Electroheads team!! It looked like you and she had a TON of fun hanging out whilst you shuttled her to work. That Synch Longtail definitely seemed like a great eBike for tandem riding.
The range and battery life was better than I had expected. I am interested in a folding eBike that would carry both myself and my wife. That little 250 watt motor did great.
My wife, as she's disabled so pedalling is impossible for her. We have never cycled together and always talk about how amazing it would be. We would need a trailer for her wheelchair though.
The NEVER-mentioned major problem is horrible, freezing, soaking wet, totally unpredictable weather - especially horrible and depressing on long-stretches of wide, open main roads, dual carriageways etc connecting suburbia to town/city centres. Tip: all shoes are quickly destroyed by cycling in rain - so I almost always use short or cut-down Wellington boots - buy them TWO sizes too big, insert many thick and fluffy insoles - and DON'T tuck rain-trousers into the Wellies but pull them over (outside!!) the boots otherwise rain will obviously flow down into your Wellies and soak your socks, feet, fluffy insoles etc Paul G
Not much use to us here in Australia Paul. First our weather is usually pretty good, if not too hot, secondly the laws we have around electric bikes and scooters is all over the place..virtually impossible to ride a scooter and not be pulled up or killed. Finally the attitude of drivers here is atrocious. So apart from the nicer weather, we have hardly any usable infrastructure or law to allow for electrically assisted bikes or scooters.
@@paulwaite2219 I live in VIC, Paul, but I have recently driven up to Cairns during that latest gulf cyclone driven rain that washed us out of several camping spots. Winters in Vic can be nasty, but a long way from Hobart "nasty" in my experience. I haven't figured out how to wear the acubra over the bike helmet yet though...lol.
Great video. Get Holly on an E-Bike, probably spring or summer. Australians we did a canal 7 day trip on it I thought these are thousands of miles of cycle ways away from traffic through rural UK. Why isn’t cycle touring canals a UK standard spring summer holiday. Save on transport splurge on BnB accomodation. P.S. coming back to UK 2025 part is another 7 on a narrow boat 🙂
I ship you two together 🤣 - The bike looks good! I believe the eskuta also allows for two people, but weighs 50kg (so can't bring that onto a train). 25kg seems manageable. I might consider getting a 2 seater e bike in the future - then my mum won't have an excuse for using the car to get to town. However storage space might be an issue, since the pannier rack is not there :/
I can't believe I just saw this now it's hilarious. If you two ever want to ride my two person Huck cycle 3000watt 72v around the California coast please feel free to reach out.
she only starts work at 10 am? wtf? how nice here in denmark everyone starts at 9am, only an hour different but still could use with the bit extra hour sleeping.
Great ebike. Just what I was looking for. I clicked on the link but the information about the bike was really sparse unfortunately. What type of metal is the frame made of? What are the dimensions of the bike?
Please let us know how much these things cost. That's important! On the kit that we can buy for our own bike, there was no price on that either. Please let me know. Thanks.
Here's a link to the longtail super monkey: electroheads.com/products/synch-longtail-monkey And a link for the Boost kit: electroheads.com/products/boost-conversion-kit It can be tricky with pricing as it can go up and down which then dates the video. We always make sure to link to the product so you have the most up to date price. Hope that helps!
But it's not legal to ride e-bike with two people even if there are two seats or big one seat. It must have two steerings and two sets of brakes also for passanger 😶🌫️
A 15 mph speed limit regulation is really dumb, as the idea of electric bikes is to replace a car that can go much faster, yet, they are not regulated to stop working after 60 mph -that’s what speed limit signs are for. They should go up to 50 mph, and if your caught speeding or riding recklessly, you should get a ticket, just as if you were in a speeding vehicle. Citizen in Europe should get these rules changed with the premise that it’s better to have less drivers on the road, and more pedestrians.
You can ride at whatever speed you like up to the speed limit of the road. The regulation is that the bike must only be powered to 15.5 mph.. after its reached that speed if you keep pedaling, downhill with a following wind who knows what speeds you can reach perfectly legally...? Just don't fall off!
50mph? you must be joking. That would mean beefing everything up on the bike, especially the brakes, which would mean a lot more weight. Then the inevitable high speed accidents so insurance would be needed along with a motorcycle sized crash helmet. It would be better for you to buy a petrol driven scooter. I would agree that an increase between 20 - 25mph should be looked at.
Eric, if you'd like your electric bike to do 50mph can I recommend a Livewire One, it'll go even faster. You will of course need a helmet, and I'd recommend wearing gloves, boots, pants and jacket all at least CE level AA. Oh and YOU'LL NEED A LICENCE. Jeez, they don't let you in a car unless you've shown you're competent to drive one, what makes you think you'd be allowed to ride an ebike capable of doing 50 with nothing.
where are the cool escooter women where I live? every women thinks I am a dork no doubt. honks, shouts, screams at me when I am on my nami, just minding my own buisness. london deffo seems more welcoming than my town lol
Hire Holly as the official passenger to test all your 2 person vehicles.

Maybe a handlebar basket option?
Pro tip: when you give your friend a lift on your e-bike, check to make sure they're not wearing their helmet back-to-front.

that was awesome, have holly on again

Thanks for that✌🏻

Why does your bike only do 15 mph that’s crazy. I have the same bike and mine pushes 40mph. I’m also in 🇺🇸
Because it's the law
its fascinating a 250 motor has the torque for this INCREDIBLE
vote : Holly 👍
Oooh electric bike taxis anyone? Someone please get onto that!
thank youuuu

Or did they do it on purpose to make the video more fun?

Do a race from A to B on the tube/public transport vs ebike
Great video quality
I've got that bike but mine is a 1000w mid-drive and it's called the Mario e-bike and bring back Holly 😁🙏
Damn that 1000w motor must pack a punch!!
That looked like a fun ride.
Pretty impressive!
I’d take Marcus Aurelius with me, it would be awesome riding around with a Roman Emperor on the back.

It's a rented e bike, so not his bike. Most rented ebikes have a basket

I have a bike with a similar long seat like this one, but I can't remember the model. All I know is that it's made by Addmotor.
Can this fit someone 4”11
What’s the fastest 2 person e-bike?
Arial rider 40 milles/h
before @6:11 she was unconscious 🤪
A two seater with a maximum rider weight of 120 kg? That's not really useful.
I'm sure her helmet is on backward.

Oh Eric. Coming here with your sensible suggestions and expectations of intelligence from the authorities...
Try getting yourself in an accident at 50mph with nothing but a cycling helmet as protection, then come back here and report how you got on.
