Reminds me of my first ever car, a clapped out, rusted, barely running MK1 Ford Fiesta, that had most of the dash missing, no roof liner, and the entire rear passenger area had been stripped back to bare metal. The Leaf must have some kind of intentional low-speed power limits going on to get that low G-force in a sprint. The way electric motors tend to work means they can put out absurd quantities of low-end torque, since that's what happens when you chuck 80kW through a motor that's not turning all that fast.

    Dude.
    That Merc looks like it has blocked sunroof drains.
    When you put a car through a car-wash there is a-lot of water. Some of it gets past the edge of the sunroof glass and goes into a drain-pan around the sun-roof aperture, between the metal roof and headliner.
    There is a tube drain in each corner (2 front, 2 back).
    Get some 3 to 4 mm whipper snipper line. Open the sunroof and feed the line down each tube to clear out whatever crud is in there. Use a little water to help.
    Be VERY careful. You don't want to puncture the poly-pipe that runs down each A-pillar and C-pillar, because then you've got another problem altogether...
    Replacing those poly tubes is a pain.
    Also, on cars with dark paint, sun heat tends to cook the poly drain pipes, and they shrink. They can pull off the metal tubes at either end. Again, they need replacing. Not fun.

    Fun fact about Fiat "Tony" 126p
    When my dad used to drive one like that when it was just 2-3 years old...going 80 km/h (50 miles per hour or so) it was getting a little wobbly
    The top speed he got in it was 110 km/h and by standards of the car was was considered a suicide attempt or a death wish because it was beyond unstable at that speed
    Having a crash in that Fiat at the speed of 40 km/h already is pretty awful because of no protection whatsoever

    Hate to be that guy, but @ 5:41 the unit of energy you're looking for is kwh. (kw/h is sort of nonsensical, as it would describe how fast your power increases/decreases, not how much power you can output for a given amount of time)
    1kwh = 1kw for 1h
    or 0.5kw for 2h
    or 10kw for 0.1h
    Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk about stupid units. (why can't we just use joule instead??? (1kwh = 3.6MJ (Megajoule)))
    Edit: Tony is an absolute treasure. I would die for him.

    "60 is the speed out front of your house, work, shops" Hell no, what kind of a wild west is Australia ? (Although, according to James&Maso Mad Max is a pretty accurate depiction, so..) But I'm used to most often 30 or 40 near people and residences, or 50 max.

    • @ziggybadans
      @ziggybadans 7 місяців тому

      40 is only really common in city centers. 50 is pretty common in low residential areas, and 60 is kind of main street in a small town speed. Heaps of people just do 60 in 50 zones tho cause there's no speed cameras.

    Residential area speed is 60km/h in Australia? WOW! Here on the other side of the planet (Read Brazil) it's 40Km/h in residential areas (some times 30. 20 near schools) or most midtown roads and 60 on primary roads (Read large streches of Boulevards). 80 is mostly on intermunicipal roads that connects towns that are not directly adjacent to a motorway.

    • @Simoneister
      @Simoneister 7 місяців тому +2

      In Adelaide, where Wade lives and so do I, it's 50 by default if there are no signs. Many residential side streets are 40, especially in fancy areas, but certainly not all. Suburban main roads are pretty much all 60 though.
      To get to the outer suburbs you'll likely find an 80 road (and on special occassions, 70 in the lead up). Then highways and rural roads are 100 or 110.
      So, honestly not toooo different!

    So this has nothing to really do with the video. But mate, pulling tbis video up was more of a saving grace than you could imagine. I am so insanely screwed up in the head from being in some of the darkest places you can imagine. I was slowly losing interest in the things I love for a while. But now, for over 2 weeks I have enjoyed NOTHING! Not a single thing, even the things I love. But I come back to watch Garbage Time and Dankpods again, 2 channels I absolutely love, and I finally see an ounce of enjoyment again. No seriously, you have no idea how much of a saving grace this is. Even if this enjoyment is small right now. I genuinely thought I would never enjoy anything again. But I pulled up this video and it made me crack a smile.
