- After Halloween it seemed sensible to finish off the Airport. Starting with a few amendments, I finished all the tiling, added the security fencing, a bus stop, taxi rank, aircraft taking off and loads of fun minifigure scenes. Awesome!

Congrats on completing the airport! As an aircraft dispatcher and Lego lover, I think you’ve done an amazing job of combining the two together in a Lego style! Really enjoyed this series!
Awww thanks, that means a lot to me!
@@RobinHoodBricks You're very welcome!
@@RobinHoodBricks your city is cool!😎
Today i've built the 60198 green locomotive cargo train with POWERED UP functions.
You could make a small scene where bags are falling of the baggage cart and an employee is running with the shocked face to tell the driver.
Hinting the the fact airlines treat your bags poorly :D
so true. baggage gets lost. all the time
Yes, the Throwers need a scene!
To make the compass a bit more symmetrical maybe add a 2x2 round tile in the middle
Yeah I thought the same
Me too
Hmmm, I'll see!
I just love it when I go into UA-cam and see that Robin Hood Bricks posted 4 minutes ago.😁
Also, did you know that each line on a Windsock represents how strong the wind is. For example here where I live each line is five nots before it bends.
I did not know that. Windsock facts!
I’m sorry, your four minutes late? You should be here less than two seconds after the video being posted!
Lol 😂
Most LEGO city airports take up a lot of space and are quite boring but you have created a busy, lively airport without a trace of wasted space. A wonderful achievement.
Thanks so much. That's exactly what I was aiming for. Big empty boxes are boring but it's the scenes that really bring it to life!
OMG there's an airplane stuck in the wall. LOL. Nice airport MOC.
Haha. Oh no!
I think everybody knows what we need....
*MORE TAXIES*
TAXIES TAXIES TAXIES TAXIES TAXIES BUS
Hahaha!
@@beertjeMP the Robin hood bricks way of playing duck duck goose
more cow bell?
Thought it said Taxes instead of taxies, and I thought president business may have taken control of Brick Nottingham
I just love the bus stops: No wasted pieces, you know precisely what they are meant to be and they have a classic feel despite the modern look. The stickered pieces tie the whole thing together making it look less like a toy and more like a scale model. Brilliant!
I totally agree. Glad you like them. I just wanted to use those cool white curved panels!
There is also a red 'station' version of that green taxi sign. At least I've got one.
Would be funny if a vehicle is being towed away, and someone running after it.
I like it!
There is also a blue police sign (also I have one)
The skelton idea on the fence would be hilarious... and give him an afro hair piece.
Bzzzzt!
the recaps are like sightseeing in a new world
Yay!
"Co-pilot Jang", Love it!
It's definitely him!
Love it. Only suggestion is to put the Taxi sign on posts just tall enough for mini figs to walk under. That way it won’t obstruct the way and will be visible from up and down the sidewalk.
Great idea!
I'm going to pretend the pinata boy is Kevin mccallister from home alone and this year he was ment to go to Mexico instead he found himself in brick Nottingham.
Haha, sounds like him!
that was creative in how you created a detailed airport showing half of it and still part fo your city and the illusion of there being a full airport.
It saves a lot of space whilst delivering almost the same enjoyment!
I think the adventurer on the sidewalk is a throwback/modernized version of baron von baron from 1998 because his face is spot on, he has a hook hand, and a pith helmet.
He has the baron's hook and head but the body is Dr Jones (senior) from Indiana Jones!
That security fence is awesome. Love the idea of a skeleton, you could either use the Timmy figure from the Jurassic part sets holding onto the electric fence or a minifig with a villain/baddie with a polevault trying to get over. Hence why John McClain is standing outside.
That would be cool!
'come fly with me with ..' looking amazing
Let's fly, let's fly awaaaay!
I have a few minifigure placement ideas but I love it! First one is a Leonardo Di Caprio and few stewardesses walking somewhere being watched by some people parked in a car as a reference to the catch me if you can movie. The other minifigure placement idea is to have two thieves trying to cut through the fence with the scissors piece. One could have a really surprised face with pointy hair as he was just shocked
Haha, yes that could work!
Do the Haunted Subway 3D entrance next. Also I just love the airport, one of my favourite builds ever Robin.
Awww thanks so much. It came together well!
I love how compact you’ve made this. I’ve never even considered doing an airport because of the space it takes up but seeing this you’ve made me think about doing it in the future. Well done. Thanks for sharing.
Yes, that was the primary focus. Full airport using as little real estate as possible!
I have 3 things to say:
1: you aren't allowed to stop at airports. At all.
2: please, PLEASE add a drifting taxi
3: usually airport taxis are usually different colors (in Arizona they are green, for example)
Yay
Yay indeed!
Very good👍
Thank you very much!
The security fence is looking nice. The airport turning out sweet
Yeah, it looks great, I must say!
You could do a tow truck carrying the yellow conveyor to a repair center,it would look good and you’d have more vehicles in your city
I do need to add more vehicles onto that side for sure!
Love the finished product! A dinosaur in a crate on the loading side would be a fun reference to your choice of fence!
A dino... what? Aren't they extinct? In a crate? Haha. I don't own a single dinosaur!
Not if Brick Nottingham exists in the same universe as Isla Nublar, which is well within the realm of possibilities as my local lego store definitely sells Jurassic Park legos
love seeing the airport come together. its amazing. the only "gripes" id say is, i dont think the employee access door should be in the front. all employees would enter in the back....behind the wall lol. id rather see the fence continue to the building than have that door there. it kinda throws it off. Also, that baggage loader would never be on the street....they are always on the airport grounds. if u dont have room for it, maybe just put it in a bin till another time LOL. but all in all its fantastic. cant wait to see what the hotel will look like!!!
I'll probably remove the loader car thingy but due to the inflexible lengths of the fencing the door made sense on the front to make the are enclosed a bit bigger!
I really like the layout of the airport. The fence is high enough. Just think of the mini golf course. Players and trains have come to terms with each other and everyone is alive. It's been a long day for me today, but I still remember something :-). You could give the man with the hooked hand a chicken leg and behind the fence a Velociraptor
Haha, a dinosaur. Whaaa!
suggestion: usually next to the exit of a terminal , probably walking towards the hotel and it's implied parking lot you'd have some ticketmachines to pay your long term parking .
Oooh very specific. I like it!
I love this completed build so much! Its so good. I do like the security fence, although a suggestion regarding the fence, is that you could add a group of kids trying to climb over the fence, or a very enthusiastic plane spotter 😂 - I don’t know! But this is a very great build.
Others have added to my skeleton idea with a black scorched skeleton. I like this one!
You could add a small box at one end of the fence being the voltage meter and on/off switch
Ahh, good detail!
Two small suggestions, 1. make the fence one cable taller and 2. move the east and west tiles over 1 stud each
and put a tile in the center of all 4 directions with a design of some sort. Perhaps a map or a logo.
Hmmm, I'll take a look at what maps I have!
Still have some lights and trans pieces from those lighting sets. They were incredible rare in US only ever found the in early 80s I believe at a traveling lego show at a large, now defunct, department store. Used the lights when making space installations with classic space. Airport looks great! Cheers.
Yes we had some of those back in the day as well!
You know Robin the burning burger-bar with a firetruck its great fun you should get only the burger bar and place it somewhere fun!
I have it. It's quite small so I'll put it in a space that I can't use, somewhere away from Fast Food Corner!
19:12 “all you need is light and sound” do doo do do do do do
Haha!
Very smart blending the dark tan door surround with the walk tiles in front. Good stuff as always.
That's the joy of designing digitally. Playing around is quick and easy on the fingertips!
Your airport was built about 12years and 48 weeks longer than the new BER in Berlin and it is even more beautiful. Like your work! Great job, Robin!
Great😂
Hahaha. I'm glad my budget didn't go as badly wrong as theirs either!
Wow! I love the height, the modularity, the tiling and of course the scenes! Maybe you could have a detective coming out of a taxi and meeting up with the explorer with the suitcase to meet up with the other explorer inside to go on their "secret jungle mission"!
I thought they might be competitors like in Raiders Of The Lost Ark!
I think you need a zebra crossing from your bus station over to your airport.
Really enjoying your builds
Thanks very much!
Oh Robin, please put a small family either in or out the airport arguing, maybe because their dad has taken them to the airport a day early accidentally! Airport looks great btw
Yeah, a massive family row!
I really like all the great details. 👍👍
Glad you like it, thanks!
Great to see your airport come together like this - very cool! I really like the new fence - that's very cool indeed! All the travelers outside the airport are great - really lives up the place. And McClane is a great easter egg :-D Wonderful work and great looking city as usual - keep it up!
Thanks, yes the busy scenes are really nice. More to come!
I like the shadow the plan make it looks like another plan is following. As the airport looks good
Yes, the taking off plane is simple but adds so much!
wow that fence make the rest look so good
Yes, it was the best outcome in the end, not having enough fences!
It is a really wonderful Airport. Really awesome.. 👍😎👌😍
Thanks a lot!
You could place the conveyer belt vehicle on a truck, it just being delivered to the airport by the manufacturer.
Good plan, although it is surprisingly wide!
You really do like adding those beautiful ladies in your minifigure scenes. Love all your beach babes. Be great to add some small trees around the place. Love the use of tan tiles for the path in-front of the terminal. I use tan tiles rather than LBG tiles in my city. I think sandstone looks better than concrete
It definitely is nice to use sandstone in special areas.
Yes, I think the pretty stewardesses make for a funny scene!
14:54 You should make that compass point tiling to look like compass rather than rectangle. Other thing that you could add is to reference to Airplane 1980 movie.
Wow, Airplane. I haven't seen that for so long. I don't remember the references now!
@@RobinHoodBricks Maybe add a red zone, and a white zone :D - and a taxi parked across the pavement with a meter running really high.
What a great plan for the fence, looks really nice! I love the idea of the plane taking off through the wall. Another great video, well done!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome video! Can you do some more tram-cam when you extend the line? Those minifigs need to be careful! If they swing the rail maintenance excavator to right they could puncture the fuel tank on the little train at the airport! And I wanna know what that building is lol
Yes, more TramCam on the monorail extension. It's a must!
I think the compass tiles might look better with a 4x4 tile between all four stickered tiles. It would be more symmetrical.
It is symmetrical now isn't it, haha!
Great video Robin! I love all the final touches and amendments that you've done to your airport, especially the compass point tiles. The cable fence pieces you used are brilliant. I also thought the large black fence pieces would block some of the view and the cables don't at all and look quite nice I think. One thing I would possibly change to the front by the doors is your waste bins and go with the bins you used for fast food corner, a recycling and a garbage bin. I also like the stickers you use for your bus stops. I noticed one when you mentioned set 8198 of the city/ docks sign. That sticker would look great by your harbor. The plane taking off looks great, it definitely shows motion like it just took off from the runway off in the distance. As for your next video, I up for anything. I am pretty curious of what your power functions building will be though. Great video my friend. Keep up the awesome work. 👍👍
Thanks for the lovely long comment. I've considered adding green signs a few times. I did one for the Paradisa Beach, as I couldn't resist, but it's a slippery slope to having my streets have the same names as any other city. Also our street signs aren't green in the UK!
Yes those chairs looks absolutely better with a plate attached under it😃👍. Otherwise it looks like a chair without legs.🤣.
I'm glad I have satisfied the chair people!
@@RobinHoodBricks 👍🤣👍
Hello Robin, that really looks like a busy Airport now and fits in really well. I was thinking you could use the cargo conveyor vehicle over on the side with your Jang copilot, having him watching the jet take off and maybe dumping some cargo over your fantastic electrified fence in error. great use of the N,S,E,W entry tiles. As always thank you for sharing your amazing video
Thanks, Trent. Yes maybe it'll fit on that side. It'd be a shame to lose it!
Great, I like the new Solution for your fence problem, but I think, that you also couldt use the same big fence pieces in Yellow or Brown, because they came in a lot of the old Forestman and Aquanauts Sets and are still the same, with the only change, that they don't have the two studs in the center. Thats maybe an good Idea...
I'll have to find another use for them as I like these wire ones now!
Yes! I’m so glad it is! What a fabulous build, looks awesome!
Thank you, it's appreciated!
I like the electric fence and front sidewalks
Thanks so much!
Greetings, Robin! You might consider placing a flat 4x4 in the middle of the compass which will make the directional points more symmetrical.
I'll take a look!
I have never build a lego city myself, but I love what you continually do with yours, and I find it so inspirational. So much so that I might one day finally break down and build one of my own.
Wow, thank you. One day you will have to give in, but in the meantime you can just join in here!
Large Comment:
This is the perfect mix of aviation and LEGO! I like them both! Looks really modern, which is my style. The radar and ATC look great, the roof looks great, the scenes look great, everything looks great! Some pointers below:
Rapid-fire of different points here in chronological order:
- While the white box isn't normally there (I think?), usually, there are marked roads on the apron itself for the baggage carts, cargo trucks, airport traffic etc. Usually just a two-way one lane per side type of small road I believe.
- Modern airports still have windsocks.
- I'm happy you used the wire fencing, the tall one looks like a prison. Electrocution should be enough of a threat anyway! It's fun
- Subway station? :)
- Don't forget to add the amendments for the monorail bridge (like adding a bottom)
Yes to those. I've ordered some parts for the bridge. Not arrived yet. Subway station link not forgotten!
@@RobinHoodBricks yay I can’t wait for tomorrow! Good thing no school. Happy late Remembrance Day everyone
Excellent airport MOC! It's definitely inspiring me to make some progress on my own airport terminal building MOC.
I finished up the eight-sided control tower, and started adding in more food concession stalls on the second floor where the gate and waiting area are located.
The burger stand from the recent fire truck set earlier this year is a good one along with the same news stand that you used. I'm also using the cafe coffee and donut bar set (a Target exclusive, I believe) and the promo Slush Ice juice bar set from Hidden Side (de-monsterized). I'll probably add a little pizzeria too.
It must be big. Hope your 8 sided tower looks great too!
Really nice video! The airport looks even more great!
Love how you included the suggestion for the primary radar, the rotating bar 👍🏻
And yes, airports still use windsocks. They are usually placed next to taxiways and at the runway thresholds.
Keep up the good work, love the projects!
Great, keep the suggestions coming!
Holiday time brilliant video Robin hood bricks looks fantastic .😀😀
Thanks so much!
You should add some bushes or the like in the back right corner and hide a skeleton touching the electric fence. So it seems like he's been there for awhile and nobody noticed because of the bushes.
Yes good plan!
The lower fence with the wire looks very good and it's not so bulky, so that you can still spot all the detail. Good job!
Yes, I agree. Thank you!
There are speed bumps at the train station taxi rank. Please add speed bumps to the airport taxi rank to get rid of the exposed studs on the road.
Also, add another taxi 😆🚕
That's it for taxis. I did intend to do the speed bumps in the same way. Good reminder!
Robin, I love your videos and can't wait to see each one. This airport turned out amazing and I can't wait to see what's next.
Thanks, Lois. There's loads of things coming up!
the tower makes a great handle
Yes, it's very useful for that and the play feature helps align it easily!
I have to put on sunglasses when i watch your vids...cause you are brilliant!
Awwww. Thank you!
Great to see it all come together so well. Looks fantastic. 👍
It does. I'm really happy with it!
Fantastic progress! loved every minute of it!
Great to hear, thank you!
Love all the little details of your city such an inspiration good work Robin
Cheers, Pat!
Add a small chase scene somewhere near the airport of a mini figure attempting to poll vault over the fence showing blatant disregard for the shock warning
Haha!
Very well done. Looks awesome as always 👍
Thank you so much!
Great video as always Robin. I appreciate how absolutely packed your city is with details and fun scenes keep up the awesome content 👍🏻
Thank you. Will do!
Great video! Congratulations on completing the airport! 🎉
Thanks, I think it looks great!
That really polished the airport, scenes off. Really good stuff. Every time I try to MOC stuff up, it always looks just the worst LOL! You're making it look easy. Well done!
Well it takes a good eye but I also spend a lot of time on it!
👋👀ing real nice👌, 💕😻 your airport set up, it's so 😎🎉👏 just a suggestion, have one of the dnow borders stuggling to get his borad attached to the taxi roof 😸🐈👍
Hello everyone, Robin Hood bricks here and in today’s video we have AnOThEr tAxI!
Yay, taxis!
Glad you went with the fencing you did. Sometimes visibility trumps realism and it would have been a shame to hide a lot of the airport details behind the Dino fence.
I couldn't agree more. Result!
Airport looks fantastic, one thing I would suggest is airport parking (short and long term) not sure how feasible this is with space.
I think I'll assume this is through the wall as it's not very exciting in some respects although it is a fundamental part of an airport of course!
Looking good😁
You could use the sign from the building in set 60262 to make a sign to place at the entrance to the airport drive/taxi rank/pick up and drop off area... just to the left...maybe as part of the Tram station update
Sadly I don't have that sign!
@@RobinHoodBricks well, if you ever find it on Bricklink, I bet you could make a really fun sign out of it
Wow, it's an amazing moc, nice scenew included as well and I agree: this fencing looks rather fantastic. And yes, when you were finishing up I already thought you thought you would forget the taking off plane.
I think you should use either Monday or Friday for the bigger project and use the other day for a bit smaller addition: it might give yourself a bit more rest + the viewers a bit more time to catch up with the video's:).
Thanks for that. I think you're right, I'll do one of each which will keep it interesting. It's easy to forget a plane even when its massive and been right next to you for a few hours!
Very nice! I really like the fance, sidewalk and compas points.
Thank you very much!
@@RobinHoodBricks No problem
Looks great, Rob 👍
Cheers, mate!
I very much love how everything looks. All the scenes outside are amazing. Maybe move your West tile 1 space to the left and East tile 1 space to the right. Then they are equally spaced out. But it's not even a major thing so it can be how it is. But it would be nicer to watch :D Also, i think maybe you have way too many street lamps in that middle section. Maybe if u remove the middle one, the one with only 1 lamp, it would be better, not so cramped together. But honestly it looks really amazing. Thank you for such an amazing airport!
Yes I do have too many street lamps there. I got carried away. I think two may be enough. Thanks for your support!
@@RobinHoodBricks All good and thank you for making awesome videos!
It’s looks good. I like the airport and the airplane taking off . 😃
Me too!
Looks awesome as per usual, Robin! The post-take addition of that plane taking off is so cool! Airport definitely feels busy, bustling and alive with all that you added in the front. I think that the wire fence setup works just right - I say excellent choice! I am very excited to see you bring the monorail/tram over to end it at the airport :)
Then it will officially be an Airport Shuttle like 6399!
@@RobinHoodBricks Yessss!!! love it!
Overall, I really love this build! I do have a few suggestions though.
1. I don't know if this was intentional or not but the bottom of the light post to the right of the bus station is facing a different way from the others.
2. Conside moving the west and east compas points out a bit (so a 2x2 tile would fit in the middle of the compas) to make it look a bit more symmetrical
3. You could add a skeleton body with a yellow head and spiky hair to someone near the fence (to imitate someone getting electrocuted like in cartoons)
Keep up the great work!
1. Yes it is because I haven't enough of those smooth pieces so I use a different version tucked under the bus stop.
2. It is symmetrical but I know what you mean.
3. Yes, I think I mentioned this. A black scorched skeleton would be even better. It's on the list now!
You should do more long videos! I much prefer them :) Also, Just letting you know that baggage conveyor isn't road legal, however airports have their own smaller roads which they can use!
I can't win on the video length. Too long and a scare off new people!
Yes! Finally! Love it robin!!🏹😍
Great to hear!
I love Robin's videos they are so nice.
Awww, thanks!
looks awesome
Yes, the aircraft taking off is very cool!
Great job I have two suggestions. First add a vehicle gate so cars like fuel truck can enter the airport. Second, the cargo loader truck looks like the ones used i on passenger plans and if you move some things around you could have it loading the passenger plane instead of on the road
But that's what the jetway is for!
For your Christmas special, can you do a Christmas themed bakery or a Christmas themed store ?
Christmas special? I think I'm taking a well earned break, haha!
I say you you should do your secret power functions building because I can't wait any longer for that
It'll be here before Christmas!
Yay ur next vid!!!!!! The plane taking off is great but it would be cool if the front gear was just starting to retract from the plane taking of u could use some technic ratchet joint to accomplish that I think because on most planes I believe that the front gear retracts first
Wow that's a very specific mod!
Yes but it would be cool
I think electrified wires, barb wire, armed guards with dogs and lazer cannons on the roof would deter unwanted public and and minifigs.
Or not as the case may be. Just a thought Robin
Haha, yes. More lasers!
You made a fantastic airport!!!
Thanks, mama!
