Two years ago on June 29th 2018 all the Toys R Us stores in the U.S. closed forever. Every year since then we have visited this abandoned Toys R Us location and now we are back two years later for the final chapter in the Toys R Us saga. Join me as we wander around this former Toys R Us location and see if we can find any remnants that Geoffrey the Giraffe left behind.

It’s so weird to me, seeing Toys R Us buildings turned into other businesses because there’s an old Toys R Us building that’s been closed for probably close to 10 years now, near where I live and the rainbow tiles are still outlining the door. Nobody else ever moved in
Update: the Toys R Us in question was never reopened as anything else and they tore it down in 2024 to make space for a freeway expansion on an already huge freeway 🥲

2021 Update: They did return with smaller stores featuring interactive experiences, yet thanks to the pandemic, it didn’t last too long. There are now plans for a third shot at the US market, with flagships (possibly like the Times Square store) pop-ups, store-within-a-stores, and small shops at airports. No mention of a return to the original big-box style, nor a return of the interactive stores.
Well we didn't have a Toys-R-Us where I lived as a kid. Not even sure there were any back in those days, I'm old, but sure wish we had one.

@@BenLaurence Nope unfortunately we didn't. The nearest one as far as I know was in Oklahoma City which is about 2 hours from here. Again if they even had any back then.

I’m 13 and still play with dolls, figures, pony’s, princess dresses, craft, stickers, toy cars, stuff animals , board games, etc I wish toys r us was still here... it would be easier to find toys in person and not online. I want at least 1 toys r us in my area with all the toys from 2013-2014 ...those were good times😔

Damn, it's so sad seeing my local Toys R Us like this... My grandmother and I went to the Toyota Brother's to get her car cleaned and I got to see them renovating the building!

I went into a remodeled Toys R Us which is now a clothing store, everything TRU changed out, except the bathroom lol. You can kinda pretend it’s still Toys R Us, provided you never leave your seat.

The one my city is still a toy store, but called Smyths (in UK). The one I used to go to as a kid still has the signs up, but they're using it as a charity store and planning to demolish it :(

In 2014 I would play with shopkins and buy them near Lexington's Toys r us. Though I wish would go back there buut covid-19 snuck up to us and kept us in our own homes so I couldn't get as much shopkins as I could. Though I was a fan of Shopkins during that time but grew out of it overtime. Good memories they were

Im a kid I always hated fort nite when I was little I always played with toys every minute now I play video games but still play with toys sometimes the reason I don’t play with toys as much is because When u get older u start to lose the creativity u had when u were a young kid and that’s what happened to me ☹️
