You should but I recommend to go straight to the last one being step up 5 because really the 4th is not all that plus everyone’s favorite character and yours moose is more in the 5th then the 4th, but if you want to go in order then go ahead and watch the 4th one, the best scene in the 4th is the last one.

While seeing Billy geek out over Moose I made the exact same comment out loud. Moose is literally the best thing about this franchise and the fact that like you said he never got to be the main focus is a crime.
I split the franchise into two eras. Era 1: The Moose & Camille era (one or two of them is in each movie) and era 2: The High Water era. which ofc features the show, but also the sixth movie only ‘cause it can’t be in the first era by its release date. Tbh, this franchise is probably done, and I will 100% miss it. I just started watching high water not too long ago, and am gonna watch the sixth movie after either season 1 or 2. I love this franchise, and moose is supreme. I’m a dancer myself and hope to be as good as him one day.
My biggest problem with this movie is the final dance. And it's all because they had this amazing routine but acted like they lost until Natalie came in and did her little bit. Like they did not need her. She annoyed me so much this movie. Also Julian's constant wardrobe malfunction was hilarious haha

They really should’ve done a movie that was just Moose and Camille because they CARRIED this movie, they are two of the best dancers in the whole cast and they have amazing chemistry. Now I’m pressed about the fact that the next movie is so far removed from this because they totally should’ve focused on them instead >:(

I don’t know HOW I forgot that Twitch was in this movie but this is the first time I’m seeing him since finding out about his passing. That man made me and my sisters fall in love with dance back on So You Think You Can Dance. Then to see him and Joshua (briefly) in this film was the sickest thing to us. Step Up 1-3 holds such special places in my families hearts for different reasons. I’m feeling emotional watching this review and seeing Twitch…. RIP to a wonderful man I wish I had the chance to meet. His dancing has touched so many people and it’s amazing that he was apart of this series. Even if Billy doesn’t react to the other movies, I hope he still watches them 🖤

Subjectively, I love this one the best and wish there was more of Moose’s and Alyson Stoner’s character. It was so sweet and endearing. Two is objectively the best. If you continue, watch 4 and stop there. The choreography is f’ing incredible. Watch it just for that.

This was actually only my second time viewing the story parts of this movie even though I've rewatched this movie dozens of times. I watched the whole movie one time and every time since, I've just skipped through to watch the dance scenes.
I do dancing, art, and poetry. Now I'm not great at things especially telling people how I actually feel because I just start to cry when I do 😭. But when I'm dancing, making art, or writing poetry. I feel like I'm in my own world, I feel like I can do anything and when people see or hear me. I feel like they can actually understand me and it just feels so good to put stuff on canvases or paper.
Also can I say i’m fresh out of college as a professional dancer (and theatre director). And this movie absolutely influenced me. I had been dancing long before this movie came out, but this one inspired me so much as a child.

This movie had me and a friend clearing out my living room so we could try imitating some of the dance moves. I wound up trying the one Moose did at 5:40. My friend said I nailed it except for the landing where I came down hard on the side of right foot and broke it.

I crack up about Billy not liking the kissing but ALL for the cupping the booty. I listened to this while driving and all I could do was laugh at all his reactions to the dancing. Also the homeless and debt jokes. After Step Up 2 the movies became less about the actual story and more about showcasing the amazing dancers. That’s what people watched it for.

You definitely need to watch Step Up Revolution Billy. I think its number 4 but it's literally my favourite 😂😂 the dancing is crazy as well as some of the ideas they incorporate and the plot is cool. I didn't really vibe with number 5 but the dancing is amazing and Moose finally shines some more.
The first movie has the best story because it was original but the 4th movie (Step Up Revolution) is my personal favorite. The two main guys have great chemistry and can both dance their asses off. And that final dance, sheeeeesh.

Ok, I think we all know we aren’t watching these movies for the storylines, lol. Billy’s reaction to the choreo is exactly why I wanted him to keep watching. I haven’t seen 4 or 5 in years, but I’m still gonna recommend them, cuz the entertainment is the dancing. *fun fact: the bathroom guy with the speakers on his outfit is Joshua from SYTYCD season 4 with Twitch. Since Adam Shankman is one of the producers of these movies, a lot of the choreographers and dancers from the show got to be part of the movies.

This is my favorite of the Step Up movies!!! I remember seeing it in the theater in 3D and all of the dances were so mesmerizing!

This movie had me and a friend clearing out my living room so we could try imitating some of the dance moves. I wound up trying the one Moose did at 5:40. My friend said I nailed it except for the landing where I came down hard on the side of right foot and broke it.

Andy, the woman from the 2nd movie, comes back in Step Up Revolution I believe, and that one has really good songs and dances as well. Plus she's my favorite out of all the women haha

I crack up about Billy not liking the kissing but ALL for the cupping the booty. I listened to this while driving and all I could do was laugh at all his reactions to the dancing. Also the homeless and debt jokes.
After Step Up 2 the movies became less about the actual story and more about showcasing the amazing dancers. That’s what people watched it for.
It’s 2 in the morning and I’m trying so hard to be quiet but Billy got me cracking up especially at 35:15😂😂😂

You definitely need to watch Step Up Revolution Billy. I think its number 4 but it's literally my favourite 😂😂 the dancing is crazy as well as some of the ideas they incorporate and the plot is cool. I didn't really vibe with number 5 but the dancing is amazing and Moose finally shines some more.

The first movie has the best story because it was original but the 4th movie (Step Up Revolution) is my personal favorite. The two main guys have great chemistry and can both dance their asses off. And that final dance, sheeeeesh.

Step up 2 and step up 4 are the best in my opinion because those are my favorite, mainly because the dancing and soundtrack and plot storyline

Ok, I think we all know we aren’t watching these movies for the storylines, lol. Billy’s reaction to the choreo is exactly why I wanted him to keep watching. I haven’t seen 4 or 5 in years, but I’m still gonna recommend them, cuz the entertainment is the dancing.
*fun fact: the bathroom guy with the speakers on his outfit is Joshua from SYTYCD season 4 with Twitch. Since Adam Shankman is one of the producers of these movies, a lot of the choreographers and dancers from the show got to be part of the movies.
The only reason I finished the step up series after step up 2 was because of Moose and Allison.
