Hi! Inspired by your ideas on the FB flats group, I've been pinning the wings and leaving the flap unpinned for potty-tunities using stretchy flats. I like it! I'm using Dritz pins. I like the Pickman fold because the extra tail can hang over the wings to keep everything in place. Also the kite fold works pretty well. My baby just turned 6 months....but she's not crawling yet. We will see how it holds when she is moving. Also wondering if you know of a retailer for Puppi covers in Canada?

Awesome! Thanks for the feedback. I will have to try pinning the wings together on stretchy flats too, not just preflats. So far I've been using origami fold, but I should learn Pickman and try kite fold. I only have a couple stretchy flats, but I'm planning to order more soon.
I'm not sure about a Canadian retailer of Puppi wool covers, but Puppi does ship worldwide from Poland. It cost less for me to have a small package shipped from Poland than it costs to ship something across the US! 💜Heidi

Thanks for all your hard work on the videos! It really shows how much effort you put in. You deserve a lot more subscribers for this amazing content. I have a couple questions:
    1) could u explain why you’ve moved away from diaper belts? Do u think those would work with the Preflats to be able to easily tuck out and in?
    2) have u ever tried old T-shirts as a flat/preflat? Others seem to say it works well!

Thanks! 1) I'm still a fan of diaper belts, just haven't used them as much with my 3rd baby. I've been meaning to make some that open and close with snaps. So it's easier than pulling the diaper belt up and down. But with making videos I haven't had time! I hope to try a diaper belt with snap closure along with preflats. If I get the chance!

      2) I've folded up a tee shirt and fastened it on my baby for demonstration purposes, but didn't let me baby pee in it. (It was my husband's tee shirt, and I didn't ask first. 😂). I know some people use them. I would probably sew t-shirt fabric into a preflat with at least 3 layers. Been meaning to try that, but again, not enough time.

@@ECpeesy thanks! I just found komfibaby through you and they have one with snaps! So cool.

Have you thought about clotheez size intermediate prefolds? They’re quite a bit trimmer then a medium but we’ve never had issues with absorbency. Just add a doubler if needed but usually don’t. Also work well pad folded to potty training.

Thanks for the suggestion! We're still using Novice prefolds, but probably won't get any more. Our washing machine has a hard time rinsing out detergent and prefolds hold onto the detergent more than flats do. We do like the thinner options of Cloth-eez prefolds. 💜 Heidi

@@ECpeesy Gotcha. Flats do wash up a fair bit easier!

Hi Heidi, I was wondering if the Popolini Easyfree diaper would be a good EC diaper option for you... neither pins nor boingos required. ;) They even have a wool cover option. Feel free to contact me if you are interested and have issues with getting hold on them in the US since it's a European brand (I am not associated with them). Greetings from Germany, Stef

Hi Stef, Thank you for the recommendation! I had heard of Popolini Easyfree diapers, but I should look at them again. I could order through The Nappy Lady in the UK, but shipping is so expensive!
There are some wonderful EC and wool diaper covers available in Germany. I really wanted to order drop-flap wool diaper covers and wool training pants from Emilino.de, but they don't ship to the USA. Do you cloth diaper? If so, which types of cloth diapers do you use? 💜Heidi

What do you use to sew the inserts? I’ve been working on sewing my own diaper design where they change from the back.

I used organic cotton French terry for some and organic cotton fleece for some. The top layer is organic cotton velour. I sewed them on a regular sewing machine using an overcasting foot and stitch. I'm curious to see your diaper design! 💜 Heidi

@@Annisa_Kacang That would be great! It's so hard to find time to sew with a baby! I just finished a preflat that I cut out two weeks ago. It was just sitting on my sewing table collecting dust.

I didn’t wake him to change diapers. Just changed them gently while he was sleeping. Yes, I kept him dry day and night.
