- 30 years into South Africa's democracy and with national elections in 2024, CNBC Africa's Godfrey Mutizwa discusses key issues affecting South Africa's current economy conditions and which areas South Africa's leaders should prioritize to tackle unemployment and poverty.
We are in a crisis no jobs, no electricity, no water, no roads, no security etc...
Just because an ANC official wants a German car, twerking girls and expensive alcohol, South Africans we are dead....
Its not anc fault it is the peoples fault. The people allowed the anc to do what they want to do. We have a very weak president his got no balls
The da not going to have a majority 2024 . Da can braise themself because more whites leaving the Da because of the service delivery. When we report the roads in our areas are full of potholes the councilar says theirs no money to do maintenance. So strange hey. We pay for the roads to be in good condition

The ANC destroyed apartheid to some extent.
The only thing I can say is, ANC could do better. The very same South Africans black and white are destroying SA, may it be business men and leaders alike but rhy destroy it. As for ordinary SAns, they know what the ANC did for them, building schools, houses and giving them jobs where they didn't have to answer to white masters.

@@ericnqobilengwenya9460 The DA has the best track record of service delivery to the poor in SA!!
Poor black South Africans are the biggest beneficiaries of honest and very capable municipalities and governments like those run by the DA.
This is because public money is properly spent on delivering basic services to them instead of being stolen by the ruling elite like in ANC municipalities and governments!
Poor people rely the most on basic services provided by the State since they cannot afford to replace them with private ones!!
See " DA- run municipalities really are best at delivering to poor ", Politicsweb. This article compares service delivery to the poor across all 9 Provinces and the DA run Western Cape comes out tops on every single metric!!

How are we fighting loadshedding when our coal is exported regularly from the Richard's Bay Port and maybe from other ports I'm not aware of.
There are quite a few issues raised by the panel, but I wish to focus on two. We have the issues of severe unemployment and rampant criminality. If we can remove unemployment by pursuing an agenda of full employment. How do we achieve this? We should have a seven-day week of output shared by two people. The ratio should initially be 5:2 when the second person is in training and 4:3 alternate input. This implies a reduction in income, but it is a sacrifice that we all have to make. This will definitely have a major impact on the reduction of crime as there will be no idlersin the country.
Can you further elaborate I really want to understand but I'm lost
DA will fix South Africa to Madiba's vision.
No country can succeed if their expenditure is more than their income. Be it all types of taxes or any other revenue. Daily there are thousands of illegal people infiltrating South Africa who will also have to live. Either the government will have to support a large majority of them with monthly contributions , medical , infrastructure will be damaged or stolen , crime which involves the country's law system .

Why did the SOE's need to be broken first , the railways , ESKOM , post office , SAA and others that functioned properly for many years . Eskom ran for 76 without loadshedding even though it might have been linked to apartheid and a certain racial group , the only thing that needed to be done was to provide the services to all with a different rate instead of promising free services .
The voluntary lifestyle audit has convinced me…… very transparent….. love it.

Uselessness, criminal and incompetence a Gross understatement of the ANC!
Definitely not.
West Africa certainly had a substantial weaving industry by the late first millennium AD, and examples of preserved textiles go back to at least the early first millennium in Burkina Faso. West Africa is under-explored archaeologically, so we’ve got a lot of blind spots there, but it wouldn’t surprise me at all if we were to turn up spindle whorls and other durable spinning and weaving implements even earlier than that.

@@GLOBALTALENTRECAP The EFF is the worst possible choice for SA in 2024!!

Investors and Big Businesses fear the radical Communist and Nationalisation policies of the EFF. So if the EFF is voted into National Government, then Investors and Big Businesses ( think Checkers, Pick n Pay, Woollies, Banks, Mining Houses, Food Production Companies, Construction Companies, Clothing Companies etc) will flee/ leave SA overnight, taking their considerable skills, talent and capital with them. Many millions of people will permanently lose their jobs as a result! 😢
The State will also lose its biggest and most reliable Taxpayers, and will struggle to deliver even basic services to the people and to maintain and build new infrastructure in the country.
The economy will collapse and the Rand will crash to record lows, causing Hyperinflation. Imagine paying thousands of Rands just for a single loaf of bread??
This is exactly what happened in Zimbabwe and Venezuela when Communist Policies were forcefully implemented in those countries!!
Just Google the price of a loaf of bread in Zimbabwe in 2008 and decide for yourself if it is worth the risk of voting the EFF into power!

By crime I mean every form of it, corruption in government, influx of illegal foreigners, general crime that affects us ordinary citizens on a daily basis. Any party that gets into power must really focus on dealing with crime so that every investment becomes worthwhile.
Crime Nthabiseng is a product of inequality and unemployment, nothing else. Those countries you speak of have very low unemployment rates and don't have high inequality.

Ask those black people with shacks near railway tracks how much of that vision they are enjoying and ask the children of the Cape flats how great that vision is in between all the poverty and crime. @@luthovellem865 Well let me ask a question and I need an answer to this.
