the way you inspire me is by being a good example of a smart person being real with themselves in productive way. when i started watching you i had been unemployed for a real long time and was working on getting in shape--like 3 years ago i could barely walk to the end of the block. then i got to a good maintenance weight and could run a little. then i got a job, then i got a better job. next week i start another new job--coaching 7th grade flag football! this channel and community is a part of a journey that i am proud of.
Josephhhhhhh why you gotta go making me tear up?!?! This comment means a lot to me. I'm so proud of you too, you know. It takes so much inner strength to truly try to improve yourself - whether that's a job, your health, whatever. We should be so proud. 💖
I’m in tears watching your videos. My surgery is scheduled for 10/12 at Blossom, I’m excited and nervous, but seeing your journey is keeping me motivated! Happy 1 year, and I pray to follow in your footsteps! ❤
Oh my goodness!!! I'm so excited for you. You are in the BEST hands at Blossom - you will love Dr. Apel and all the nurses and staff, they are truly wonderful people. In the beginning, you will wonder "WTF did I do to myself" LOL but after a while it becomes a whole new way of living. I believe in you, and before you know it I will be seeing you in the Blossom Post-op support group!!!
So proud of you kiddo!! And it is mind blowing. I never gave it as much thought as you have. I wish I would have taken pictures and documented for myself. I have one picture that I could find of myself before. Idk where they went but they are gone with the weight. 🤷♀️😅 Keep going, to infinity and beyond, I love you!
I am booked in for January. I walked past a woman the other day who was around my goal weight, and it hit me that I could look like that this time next year 😊 so excited
I'm so stinking happy for you and proud of you!! I relate to everything you said. I'm coming up to my 3 yr VSG anniversary in October and my favorite change is how much energy I have. I used to be such a low energy person and now I am climbing the walls from dawn til night, and I LOVE IT. I can now eat enough so that I could regain weight if I let it happen, but I just love what I feel like at this size so I am never going to let that happen.
Congrats! 🎉 I'm having the sleeve on October 9th, so I'll be starting the 2 week liver shrinking diet next week. I'm 5'2" tall 240 lbs now. My knees were the deciding factor for me.
I hope your surgery went as smooth as possible as you're having an impeccable recovery! The first few months are tough, but follow your surgeon's protocol, and you will do great. 💖
Congratulations!! ❤❤ I like your videos because they are so inspiring to all - people who have had weight loss surgery, getting it or just living healthier lives (like myself). Thank you!
Awww thank you so much for sharing - I'm so glad I can be an inspiration. I hope your sleeve journey is going well! It's like a whole new life, isn't it?!
I had VSG surgery November 2021. So I am approaching my 2 year anniversary... rebirth I call it. I wish I had the surgery sooner. It changed my life too! My heaviest ever was 396.6 lbs. I went keto, began losing on my own. I made the decision to have weight loss surgery at 355lbs. I was 328 lbs at my first weight loss Doctor appointment and was 314 lbs the day of my surgery. Today I weigh 197 lbs. The weight loss has slowed down but I'm still losing. My gial weight is 169 lbs and at that point I'll have skin removal surgery on my abdominal area and a breast lift. It has been life changing!
Amazing! You look terrific, and I'm so happy for how much progress you have made (more than just the weight loss). You inspire me, and I'm sure so many others. I can't believe it had been a year since you had surgery, it's crazy how time does fly.
Watching your journey has been both fun and inspiring. It has definitely made me remember and reinstitute some of my habits I acquired the first year after surgery. I'm so happy that you are feeling so awesome and I love that you said you take no shit now. 😁❤❤
Happy 1st surgeversary! My RNY is scheduled for September 27th! I’m glad I finally have a date. I also made an appointment with a therapist who specializes in bariatrics to help me with the mental and emotional aspects of my food and weight issues. I’m a bit nervous, but feel ready for the changes.
Ahhhh getting sooo close! It's a huge change but so worth it. Nervous is completely normal, but ready for the change is very important and (in my opinion) key to success. Counting down the days with you!!
Tou Are AMAZING.. Congratulations For the past 7 months Ive been on a fruit and veggie diet Even inbetwen like Birthdays and Holidays I've lost iver 90 pds.. You're such An Inspiration 😊😊😊😊
Congrats on the 1 year! So excited to see your journey now that you're close to the "end"...if there ever really is an end. Curious to see what maintenance for you looks like. I'm 6 months out from my wls and 80lbs down. Not sure what my end number will be bc my surgeon has one goal in mind, my primary care has a different one, and I don't have the slightest clue where I will land bc I have always been big. ❤ your videos!
Thank you so much!! You're doing amazing. You make a good point... even though I feel like "the end" is in sight, I don't think it will ever really end. It's a strange thing to think about!
I’m at the start of my journey. I had a bypass 2weeks ago and I’m starting food mushed today . Food looks so much bigger now . Thank you for your help . How long did it take you to stop missing being able to eat what you wanted . 🥰
Congrats on your recent procedure! The early stages are rough but in a few months, it will all be your new "normal". I'm cheering for you over here 💖💖💖 I would say the food FOMO stopped around 6 months, once I really got used to eating like a bariatric patient. I just mentioned to someone else that I realize the way I used to eat before surgery (huge portions, lots of bread/rolls) was not normal, how I eat now almost 2-years post-op IS what normal eating looks like. I think I did a video on this somewhere, if UA-cam lets me link it I will put in another comment.
I’m new! I’m 6 weeks post op from VSG and just hit my first stall :(. I know it’s part of the process and my body fits different in my clothes… but it’s SO daunting not seeing it on the scale. How did you get past that?
Ahhh the dreaded stalls! I did a whole video on it, here's the link. Mostly, you'll just keep carrying on and doing your things. It's more mental than anything to be honest! Hang in there!!! ua-cam.com/video/Wi9bM-gyZGw/v-deo.htmlsi=zwytJfN0tvxBEWzm
Oh my goodness, thank you so much! Right now, My shirts are size small or extra small, pants I wear a size 8 or 10 (medium) depending on the rise, fabric, etc.

Weight loss mindset or lifestyle does not have a timeline. You live this way and it’s okay.
