  • Sales Influence Podcast - How to Rescue a Struggling Salesperson - B2B Sales Management. Why is it that a salesperson can know what to do but still fail to execute?
Why is it that a salesperson can understand the negative impact of not performing, but still isn't 'motivated enough' to perform? What is the 'Hawthorne Effect' and how can you use it to rescue a failing salesperson? Victor Antonio on Sales Training and Motivation. www.SeminarsOnSelling.com

Believe it or not this is my first-ever podcast. And it was recommended to me by a mentor of mine.
    Absolutely loved it.

Another great vid Vic. I've been under a couple of managers and very few are good. Unfortunately in sales the reason you are promoted is because of you sales record but a good salesman doesn't always translate to a good manager. I've found that the good ones are those that are able to articulate to the people under them how to move from where there are to where there would like to be. The only way a manager can get though to their salesmen is if they know them individually. What works for one would not work for another. I will research the Hawthorne effect you spoke about.

I agree. The bigger challenge is when a company grows so large that individual attention becomes difficult. VA

This was great as usual. I totally agree with this approach but I think I needed a reminder so thank you.. My Sales Management belief is Mentor,Motivate and Make money .🙂 . And as you mentioned often the most valuable thing a sales person needs is time and some direction so that they know that their Mentor/Manager is also invested in there success. Thank you again . Side question do you ever come to Canada to Key note?

Thank you and yes, I do go to Canada but most of my events are for private corporations. No public seminar planned as of yet. VA

Good stuff! Just curious, any tips on helping salesman when outside issues are causing their lack of success, divorce, death in the family, etc? I have a really good salesman who has killed it. But went through a bad break up and he’s not all the way checked in mentally. One of the toughest jobs I’ve ever had is trying to get him back to normal. He’s super inconsistent now, anything you can do in this situation?

So Victor I work for a large marketing company by the name of smart circle. I sale discounted sports and entertainment packages which is a very soft product, but as of late, my numbers have been depleting. I believe my pitch and my attitude with all the other factors that go into a sale have not changed and I don't believe I have gotten complacent. I'm sure I need to pay for your advice Haha but I believe I need more impulse, I just don't know how to implement it. thank you

    • @VictorAntonioLive

It could also be economic conditions or seasonal changes impacting your sale (i.e., externalities). Whether we care to admit it or not, our "pitch" does change over time; but so slow you don't notice. How you pitched a year ago has most certainly changed. Reflect, go back in your head, and see if you can get back to what you were doing before. No charge :-) VA

Ok I make 80 - 125 calls a day . Common objection is they don't use trucks . Its Vendor routed or customer routed. . Theres no way I can believe if that's actually true.. The main the manger tells me is sound different from the other 40 cold calls they get a day about having trucks for their company. Thanks in Advance!
