- In this video, I take a trip out to Soundhouse Studio to play through Jack Endinos twin reverb, the very same one Kurt Cobain used for the recording of their first album "Bleach" One of the best sounding amps I've ever played through!
If you're interested in booking time at this amazing studio make sure you shoot them a message through one of these links.

2:36 Dr Endino steps on the distortion in perfect timing haha
Haha he does!
I had the great pleasure of recording with Jack at Soundhouse in summer of 2002. I was a stupid English teenager trying to act all cool when I was actually terrified, Nirvana were my absolute heroes and visiting Seattle was a dream come true. Well our band didn’t end up famous but Jack was an absolute gentleman for the three weeks we worked together. He works super hard, he’s a very very smart guy and I have memories to enjoy forever. Great video, I hope you had a blast. :)
How awesome is getting to go talk to Jack and play the twin Kurt used? I might be sort of jealous… Jack is eq-ing the twin while you’re you’re playing. Sooooo frickin cool.I’m gonna shut up andwatch the rest of the video. Can’t wait to hear the aluminum guitar! These tiny details that no one else has ever even thought to find out about are amazing! Thanks bro!
that amp..what a great sound 🙌
Speaker?
I was in a metal band back in 2018 and we recorded 6 songs at Soundhouse, and Jack let our guitar player use this Cobain amp (it was a Cobain amp from bleach, so I assume its the same one). It blew my mind that we were allowed to do that.
Wow that’s amazing did it sound good
I’ve actually met Jack twice. One in 2009 I was a college student selling some gear on the old Yahoo Seattle Studios group. Jack bought it and I went to his old studio and he humored me for like 20 minutes, talking about the documentary ‘Hype.’ We also talked about some of his former colleagues who I’d rubbed shoulders with T the Art Institute of Seattle (now defunct) in ‘08. Then I met him later in 2012 for a few minutes with a mutual friend. Again he was casual, yet professional and friendly. A super cool guy who seems genuine and eager to engage with fans and music enthusiasts.
Goosebumps when I see these videos because the tone is always exactly as I remember it from the first time hearing these songs
It's so cool to see young guys playing Nirvana songs 30 years later. Just waiting for THE big guitar music revival.
it might come soon, people are fed up with pop music for the last 15 years
@@kastro99 there's hardly a proper record industry, no music papers, much fewer live venues, no music sales Vs Spotify etc!... if the revival happens most people won't know about it, the band's won't make any money because of that and will have to jack it in if they want to settle down. Lots of good bands about, esp the punk harcore scene... it's just a total DIY ethic...wich those have always had.
@@mikethebloodthirsty musicians deserve to live off of their craft. I pray for all of those talented musicians trying to make a living doing what they love everyday. It is the right of everyman to pursue happiness! I hope for a music revival on an international level.
It’s happening there are hella underground punk, grunge and rock bands in cali
That window has come and gone unfortunately.
Jack seems like a really nice guy & that was cool of him to have you to the studio. I can’t wait to hear the Bleach IR packs!
As far as the time between videos, dude, it’s worth the wait. Take all the time you need.
Bro what's the Bleach IR packs???
Have they come out?
"I got to play through Kurt Cobain's amp with Jack Endino"
-Said no one but Aaron Rash and Kurt Cobain
Well, its Jacks amp, but I get it.
With a Univox (copy) which jack Endino hasn't seen SINCE Cobain 😮😮😮
more like "said all the hundreds of bands he has worked with over the past 3 decades"
Literally every band that records there uses that amp.
@@foundvhs Not a huge surprise.
At the end of the day Jack knows it's just an amp and was built to be played and he let you play it. Super cool man.
I cannot believe Jack still has that amp. I would give almost anything to have the same opportunity you had to play it. Jack has always come across as such a cool guy who just loves music like the rest of us. Awesome video!
Love recording at Soundhouse. Never worked directly with Jack, but once when we were recording in there with Steve Fisk he was running late, so Jack came up and let us in and hung out and talked with us for a bit. Ending up getting our rhythm guitarist to record on that amp (which we ended up micing up in the bathroom lol). He also did an amazing Jello Biafra impersonation haha
I NEED that song you where playing at the beginning
Stunning sounding amp. Kurt is a big reason I became so fond of the Twin Reverb & vintage Fender amps in general.
Jack Endino is a national treasure and must be protected at all costs
Holy smokes buddy, this is crazy. Just shows how far your content goes.
Truly one of the greatest music gear channels
You should totally team up with JHS Pedals, stock up with every piece of 90s budget gear, provide a marketing backstory and make a killing on Reverb sales
Too soon Brotha….. too soon 😛
Don’t encourage him to be a Bad Monkey 🐒
That's the problem these days everythings about the money..Not cool
Not all about the sales, b.
That’s market manipulation technically, which is illegal
JHS didn’t intend for the bad monkey to become worth more in price he simply tried to demo why you don’t need expensive gear
love your channel, and thank you for allowing us to go on this adventure with you! I get so stoked when I get notified that you dropped a new video. We also need music from you. we've heard bits and pieces you play over scenes. take our money!
I’m a Nirvana nerd and I’m in the navy stationed in Bremerton. I read online recently that Jack Endino, before becoming a producer, worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. He said he picked that amp up in Port Orchard in this video and it gave me goosebumps. I go to Mainline Music in Port Orchard a lot. I’m not sure if that place was open then but if he picked it up there that’d be crazy
Great video man. I love your content
Holy s🤬 this video is fn EPIC! 🙌🏼💙🤘🏼
You are literally living the dream, my friend. Wow. 🤯🙌🏼
Awesome video dude ! The first strum gave me goosebumps ! The sound is still there it's amazing
ya at 2:09 I had the same feeling
And you can get that sound from basically any amp. It’s not special, it’s attainable, which is awesome
What an awesome opportunity! Just goes to show how good of a job you're doing with these videos. Also, on a side note, I need a full version of the intro song. It really sparked something inside me similar to hearing Kurt's home recordings for the first time and just made me want to listen to it over and over.
Good to know Jack is still making music .. If I lived in the US, I would go record my band there for sure.. now know that the bleach amp is still there is amazing! COOL VID MATE!
If you ever make it to Seattle, its a great place to lay down a record!
@@AaronRash who knows.. maybe one M Files will get there..
My dad lives in Seattle and has made records there. Super cool place full of interesting, intelligent, friendly people. Highly recommend it….
@@adamdacevedo cool.. one day we (my band) will go there do a session.. one day..!
Dude, I'm so, so,soooo happy you got to do this. Your journey brings me, and others, joy.
I can't imagine how this felt in person I literally have goosebumps just watching it, what an amazing video and shout out Jack Endino and his assistant engineer for making this possible. ♥
Dude this was so cool! Sounded dead on! 💯💯👏🏼
This is very cool. What a great experience. Thanks for sharing and thanks for everything Jack! 👍
every video you surprise me with another amazing story or discovery and that's just the best! thank you for sharing your experiences!
Dude! Love this. I’m 46 and to see a younger generation appreciate and love this music gives me a huge smile 😃
This is honestly crazy! Pretty rad of Jack to have you over to play with the amp.
It blows my mind that he'd never seen anyone else with a Hi-Flier since Kurt! You would've thought there would have been people inspired by Kurt bringing them in.
I love getting to watch these videos, such a great experience!
I love this man's videos
Wow, this was such a surreal experience just watching Jack Endino himself talk about the details and nuances in Kurt's playing and you playing that very same twin reverb Kurt played 34 years ago. It's unreal and it sounds exactly like that record. I hope you get back there again soon and make a couple of more videos and release the IR for that twin.
So very excited for the next upload!!
Amazing video! What an opportunity. It’s unbelievable cool to get to see you speak with Jack and play though that amp. Can’t wait to see your future content :D
Jacks voice you can notice from a mile away. I LOVE this channel man
Thanks man So cool Happy for you to get to sit there with Jack and play
Hey Aaron just wanted to say thank you for being such an amazing inspiration really showed me I should follow my dreams no matter what it takes.
Wow, thanks! Absolutely, never stop chasing whatever it is you're after
So awesome Aaron! The thought that last Hi-Flier plugged into that amp before yours was Kurt's is mind blowing!
What an awesome experience! Great tone!
Bit of an overlooked gem. Very nice to hear it. Glad you played About a girl; that's the sound.
How awesome is this... That amp sounds killer...
Congrats man on getting to go meet and chat with Jack... Super cool you got invited to go do that and play..
So happy for you, looks like you had a blast. Jack seems to be a super nice guy as well.
Genuinely an amazing video!
Hi Aaron,
This video just popped in my feed, thank you very much for this. It feels like going to the museum of guitar techs, and it feels awesome.
Cheers man!
that studio is amazing to work in, did two recording dives there and got more than I ever expected from doing it there! Highly recommend Soundhouse!
Props to you Sir, best Nirvana content on UA-cam 😊
What song is playing at the beginning?
Holy shit man, when you started playing About a girl through that cab, tears literally burst into my eyes. My favorite song and the exact same sound. You're a God. I am incredibly excited to see whit what will you come up next.
you just lived my childhood dream. Blessed you, mate.
this video has so much educational value, thank you
From 2:21 to 2:57 I was moved. Kurt's music has come to life with the right outfit!
So glad you have a chance to do this, you deserve it
Really really cool man, what an experience 🙌 Absolutely surreal
That’s totally awesome man! You’re right, that amp is probably insanely valuable. I was never really a huge Nirvana fan back in the early 90’s, but I loved the hell out of Soundgarden and Pearl Jam. I would flip my lid if I got to play with some of Kim’s or Stone’s gear.
Thanks for this video!! Cheers from Spain
that is awesome you got to work with jack, great video!
Awesome video as always
I recorded a record there in 2007, and that amp is just chilling in the studio and Jack will totally let you use it on your record, and I DID! That amp has been on hundreds of records.
YESSSS!!!! Good stuff as always!
Hey what was the song in the beginning of the video
What is that song you’re playing in the beginning of the video? So damn good!
Your vids are the best bro!!
So cool that you got to play on that amp! Wow im so jelly!
I have insomnia from time to time and I like watching your videos when I’m up late. Like, “I bet Aaron is up too!”
This dude is living the dream. This is amazing
Dude that is AWESOME I wish I could play on the twin used on bleach epic video keep them up
Pure magic and goosebumps!
Playing About a Girl in front of Jack must be like playing stairway to heaven in a guitar store.
Amazing video. You are sooooo lucky!
WOW WHAT A DREAM!!!!!!!! SO HAPPY FOR YOU DUDE!!!!!
So cool. I'm extremely envious.
Nice man! I love your channel, I have been watching your videos none stop since I found your channel, super fun!! haha I recorded with Jack in 2019 here in Santiago, Chile. We did the 2nd album from my band with him. Odio Sensible is my band though.
Incredible!!!!
Thanks, man!!!
No no, it’s shouldn’t be in a museum. It should be played.
Woah this is amazing to see in 2023
Yoo such a great video!
wow bro this video is insane you are the luckiest guy ever to meet jack,,, I love hearing jack speak
This is really crazy video. Thank you
I’ve always wanted to play with the same equipment Kurt used so this is very awesome!
thats totally amazing man
As a brazilian i got to point out something very few people know, but jack is a huge fan of brazilian music and even produced one of the biggest rock bands from my country
oloco, nao sabia dessa, sabe citar algumas bandas que ele ja produziu daqui?

Beyond Proud of You
Jack Endino is a legend ❤️
Jack is a legend and seems like such a cool guy. Would love to work with him one day
DUUUDE! THAT'S AWESOME!
Boah u really got me with this awesome short vid!
The song/cover in the beginning sounds amazing, is it somewhere available? I wanna listen to the whole song 😀
It must have been surreal with Jack EQing the amp and commenting on your guitar like he did.. brilliant.
I had the privilege of meeting Kurt briefly at Reading in 92. I was a guitar tech for a band that were on the bill and he walked past me as he came off stage and we swapped a few words.
Great vid 👍
amazing stuff
I just can't get my mind around how insane this is. 😮
dope video dude!
What was that opening song just before the Beethoven? That was awesome!
Dude these intros are so good where’s the music at???
How cool is that 👏🏼 congrats Aaron, super cool. Subbed.
This is so so so damn cool
Yup. That’s the sound, all right!
Amazing!
