The Star Spangled Banner | Our National Anthem performed where it was written

- Опубліковано 13 вер 2020
- The U.S. Army Field Band performs the Star Spangled Banner at Fort McHenry for Defenders Day. Defenders Day commemorates the defense of Baltimore from September 12th through September 14th during the War of 1812. The events inspired Francis Scott Key to write the now famous words of the Star Spangled Banner, which became our National Anthem in 1931. Enjoy this beautiful rendition performed "O'er the ramparts."
Lyrics by Francis Scott Key, Music by John Stafford Smith, arrangement by Master Sgt. Adrian Hernandez. Video by Sgt. First Class Jared Morgan.

This is how our National Anthem should be sung, with honor, humility, and dignity. Not sung all fansy and trying to hit high notes. Hearing our National Anthem being sung like it should be sung (like this), makes me proud to be an American and a US Navy Sailor and veteran
I 100% percent agree with this!
My great grandfather would be super mad if he heard that our National Anthem is not being sung like this. He was a WW2 Army veteran.
1. I 100% agree with this.
2. Thank you for your service
This. ⬆️
Yes I agree with you Sora Naigino it should be with their honor and their heart. The national anthem should ne sung like this.
As a retired Major of the French Army, I am unable to hold back my tears at this overwhelming performance of the United States National Anthem in this grandiose and historic setting. God bless America.
🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thank you Sir. From our oldest ally, despite political differences, it carries weight.

Vive le libertie!
Thank you Britain for playing our anthem at Buckingham Palace 3 days after 9/11. We needed that sympathy from Mother England.
Can only imagine the reactions the old monarch would've had for a song about winning a war against them getting played outside Buckingham Palace.
Funny how the world works though huh? Enemies to allies.
Amen ! This is how it should be sung
A lot of versions of the Star-Spangled Banner make it more about the singer than the flag. This version gave me chills. God bless America
I fully agree with you. This is how our National Anthem needs to be sung: with honor, humility, dignity and reverence.
What a Hopefull moment that must have been in the depths of despair to look up and see our Flag still Flying !! Happy Birthday Americans! ❤
This performance makes you feel proud of being American even if you're not 🇺🇸

One of my top bucket list items is to see the army field band play live.
Worth the trip do it
My bucket list was to perform with a US Military band and I did. I performed with the US Army Field Band for 26 years retiring in 2000. My experiences with this group throughout the USA and several trips around the world were profoundly patriotic. Soon they will return to the "road" covering each US state every 2 1/2 years. I hope you achieve your bucket list item. I'm sure you will leave with love of country and pride in her armed forces. Oh, and you will also be very well entertained.
I’d like to see Francis Scott Key’s Old Glory.
*Willam Driver’s. Good lord, that’s embarrassing.
My dad was a trombonist in it for up until one or two years ago. I saw a ton of performances they did all across the country and sometimes abroad-it’s worth it maye
As a Filipino going to the US by July...well this shed me tears because my fam has a history with the us and I am proud of my heritage the US...
God bless America! From the other side of the pond, may your people hold their heads high in greatness to be part of a great free country! 🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧
Great? Sorta. Free? No. Please don't say that about us, thanks.

Rest In Peace to the soldiers who died in combat for a country they love.
God Bless America! This touched me even though i don't live in the United States
The War of 1812 was a war that did not go our way. We suffered defeat after defeat. After the British burned down the capitol, they moved on to Baltimore. American morale was low. Francis Scott Key was witness to the relentless bombardment by the British on Fort McHenry which lasted throughout the night. At dawn, Key saw that our flag was still there and was filled with patriotism. The British seeing that the Americans would not surrender the fort retreated.
Our National Anthem is a symbol that no matter how bad things seem to appear, we will always persist. We will never give up even in the face of fierce opposition.
That sounds like something my English teacher would say
Amen. God bless the United States of America
Huh, I always thought it was written based on the shelling of Fort Sumter. Guess IDK shit about American history.
They didn’t teach us this in school.
we lost the 1812 war and we've been fussing about it ever sense.
Amazing. God Bless America. Never Forget
The stars on the flag are supposed to be on the left side when the flag is pointing downwards on your profile picture
@Mike Kihne they don’t😹😹
Aww snap
We may not all agree about everything but one thing unites us all, Being Americans.

The people who fought at this fort knew how much this flag meant to the country they put every they got into this one battle. So when you hear this song really remember who fought for this country with respect and honor for what they have done for us. God bless America! 🇺🇸🇺🇸
Please read all of it and also happy Memorial Day 🇺🇸🇺🇸🎉
I was walking around the fort when they filmed this, hearing the national anthem in such a strange time in our country was rather heart warming. Well done.
I'm not even American and this gives me chills. Amazing.
God bless America, my home, sweet home 🇺🇸❤️🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼❤️🇺🇸
The most powerful national anthem in the world 🇺🇸💪
Anyone else get choked up listening to anything the band posts? Just too powerful.
Damn, I'm not even American and this is awesome to me
God bless America 🇺🇸❤️
Amen
That's how should be sung, proper and with feeling. I love it. Not like the way some singers do, exhibition of voice gymnastic
God bless America from Australia 🇦🇺 🇺🇸🇦🇺🇺🇸🇦🇺🇺🇸
As I say this is the best rendition of the Star Spangled Banner :)
Absolutely stunning. Thank you for posting. My daughter is a teacher and this is the version they play over the intercom every morning.
Wow, thank you!
@@ArmyFieldBand You are welcome.
This is one of the most beautfull National A
nthems in the world.
Once this pandemic is over I plan on visiting Fort McHenry and just sit there, praying for the lives lost and those that made the ultimate sacrifice to keep our flag flying.
Love to see the conductor singing! God Bless America and Her armed forces!
🤠 I like it when someone says her people, forces etc. Sounds British, I like it a lot.
@@whimsicalgolde I always go by the rule, countries/states/cities and machinery are feminine.

Ah nice pfp XD looks just like the one I took during San Luis :b
At each performance of the US Army Field Band and Soldiers' Chorus, the conductor turns and sings the National Anthem with the audience. It's what we do. Oh, I'm 21 years retired from this organization.
This is the best rendition of this of the Star Spangled Banner! I’m happy to be a Asian American!
looks like i finally found the best version
A beautiful arrangement, performance, and cinematography. Thank you, US Army Field Band.
I went there for a school field trip in 3rd grade and still live in Maryland today, and know a lot of the spots there. Also, once my friend picked up an old defused bomb and I tried to lift it and fell to the ground hitting my face, we also saw old wood beds which they used to sleep in and where the food was served, it was so cool that the society of Maryland has come this far :)
My city of birth. Very proud of it.
Wow I am blown away. That was beautiful. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
God Bless our Glorious Nation 🇺🇸
No one, and I mean no one can outdo the cinematography of THE United States Army Field Band.
Only the most amazing from TUSAFB & Chorus. Thank you!
Best band in the world! Go Army!
TUSAFB works very hard to be just that. There are other Special Bands that also work hard to be the same. God Bless America and her Armed Forces.
Yes they are
Those red rockets were death, and those men held the line, that flag being the indication of their success. God bless those brave men.
Love and Blessings 💓🙏🏻 to America 🇺🇸 from Brazil 🇧🇷
BEST VERSION I HAVE EXPERIENCED.
Wow... just wow. This may be a bit different than most arrangements of the star spangled banner but honestly, it's probably the best one I've heard!
Probably the most stirring rendition I've ever heard. Brilliant and beautiful.
I'm not American but I cried hearing this. Thank God for you guys. May God bless America!
Priceless. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
This was beautiful!
You all sang the anthem beautifully!
My Love For This Country is like Nothing anyone will ever know....
While explosions happened. The man wrote this as a poem😭
1812, US and UK made peace and everything went back to normal. Lands gained and lost were put back to it's original place and a friendship between 2 countries. Years and I do mean many years after! This poem became our National Anthem.
.. and the tune is British, of course, so a perfect partnership!
This was so beautiful to watch and listen too! My favorite version of the National Anthem. Love ❤️
God bless America
Love from japan 🇯🇵
I'm a South African and find no patriotism while listening to it, but from a pure musical perspective the anthem was beautifully performed here.
Platoon, Present arms!
This is awesome, Thanks for making this version!
Wonderful.
Absolutely beautiful! Planning on using it in my K-8 music class as example of Star Spangled Banner.
The one and only National Anthem performed amazingly. Go Army ! God bless America
The star spangled banner is my favorite song

One of the most beautiful things I’ve heard in my life
When I sing (or try to) of the anthem, I remember the history, behind it, and our founding families and those lesser known people who risked lives, who fought, and died giving us the blessings of freedom. Even now, those who defend us. God bless our servicemeen and women... Everyone.
Our amazing National Anthem always chokes me up. I'm so thankful to be an American!

O say can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight
O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there
O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave
why can't you sing the rest of the verses of the anthem
@@peyton7786 that is the hole song
@@RAXYsart No there is three other verses. They just aren’t widely used.
@@crimsonshadow8366 what are the other verses
@@RAXYsart On the shore dimly seen through the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected now shines in the stream:
'Tis the star-spangled banner, O long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion,
A home and a country, should leave us no more?
Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps' pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave,
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
O thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved homes and the war's desolation.
Blest with vict'ry and peace, may the Heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: 'In God is our trust.'
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
I'd like to actually visit fort McHenry and play the national anthem on my guitar
My favorite version ❤❤❤❤
