    I think we can't keep z=b as constant. Because at y=d/2, there won't be any jump in shear stress is we keep z=b as constant. It will be z=B for flange, and z=b for web. Please look into it

      it is just a general representation of width , you can take either of the two for the respective shear stress.

      It is not correct, z=B and z=b should be taken for flange and web respectively since if we keep z=b then there won't be any jump at the junction
