    I was kinda laughing to myself as I was filing my hands the other day thinking ‘this is not normal’ haha 😂

    I live the "Joshua Tree" salve, or for a cheaper option "Burt's Bees hand salve"

      J Tree stuff is pretty good. I haven't tried the Burt's Bees hand salve, so I'll have to get my hands on some.

    Another tip I discovered recently is to take a more abbreviated shower in order to avoid getting prune skin. Helps a lot 😂

      Absolutely. I know some climbers shower with gloves on to avoid getting their hands wet at all. You could only avoid leaving your hands underwater while in a pool/hot tub.

    I always wondered why people were taking a nail file to their fingers lmao. Great vid! Very concise!

    What would be your point to stop in regard to low skin? when it starts to get pink ? or is that too low already?

    • @BomberBeta
      @BomberBeta  3 роки тому

      That's a great question. It's hard to say exactly when to stop. You also will have to consider what your week looks like. If you want to climb 5 days this week you will want to limit skin loss as much as possible. If it's the last day of a long trip you can burn a little extra. In general, I would say if your tips are starting to turn pink I would stop climbing or switch to easier/jug climbing. Hope this makes sense.

    Thanks for the video, newish to climbing. What are your thoughts on blisters? Let it tear off as a flapper or tape over, pop and cut off the skin? I have had both happen and the flapper seemed to heal more quickly… thanks again.

      I usually tear it off and trim the edges down. File if the skin isn't too raw. I know some people swear by trying the leave the skin on, but I feel like once it heals the skin isn't as healthy and it ends up happening again. In the future, try to tape before it happens if you notice the hot spot on a climb your trying. Will save you lots of recovery time.

    Has anyone tried liquid bandage such as New Skin or 3m nexcare skin crack care?

    • @BomberBeta
      @BomberBeta  3 роки тому

      I used New Skin years ago. Mainly for cuts on the backs of my hand/fingers so I didn't have to tape it or use a Band-Aid. Have not tried the 3M skin crack care. If I remember correctly the friction you get with the liquid bandage is pretty poor so I wouldn't recommend using it on the tips. If anyone had a different experience I'd love to hear it.
