I would never have thought of using ribbons to hold the dolls! I've made stands before out of wire, but they were meant to "not" be seen, rather than being something PROUD to be a part of the scene!

Great idea! I used this tutorial to make a stand for my Lammily doll. I had a store-bought stand for her, but it was designed for a taller doll, so the part that was supposed to go around her waist ended up going around her armpits. This is so much better! Also, instead of a ribbon, I put a large, skinny hair tie around her waist and then stuck it over the top of the pencil. I didn't glue the hair tie on, but I plan on keeping her on the stand so I don't think it will need to be glued in place.

out of all the stands you did, I think Jewel and Dot have the most BEAUTIFUL stands I have seen. they are so glittery and cute and suit their personalities so well!!

Super idea , I am getting ready to sell a large collection of 1970's dolls and wanted stands for all the dolls to show all the outfits. But didn't want to go buy at least 2 dozen stands to just use once until the collection is sold. I thought somebody has to have a low cost diy and I am super excited to do this. I have cardboard, velcro, hook and eyes, and pencils already-So no $ Thanks so much have a great day.

Pit is so pretty and goes well with collector dolls
I think for a heavier doll like the LaLa Loopsey dolls I would screw a dowel rod into a wooden baseplate. The cardboard works fantastic for Barbie and Monster High, but the LaLa Loopseys are a bit too heavy TwT. I know I am 10 years late to this video but it just helped me so much, so thank you for sharing it!
omgosh your vids in spired me to craft so I used my own amgination and made a loft bed out of 3 sizes of shoeboxes! its so cool

Basically it fastens things together, it's the stuff on the back of most doll clothes which fastens them together - you can find it at fabric stores, and I think Micheal's probably carries it too! :)
