I’m gonna cry I’ve had my headphones since 2010 and the right cup finally died, and this just saved me $300 from getting new ones. $30 for replacement earcups and your simple tutorial saved my life. I hope the next 1,000 generations of your family are full of love and laughter, bless you ❤❤❤
Oh my god I had to take mine on a plane for a friend abroad to look at them, he wasn't sure what's wrong. THIS MADE IT WORK. I USED A BOBBY PIN and just poked around. Thank you! 2 years in the drawer and they're alive again
After seeing the unsoldering videos to replace the bad speaker, I was so disappointed since I was afraid I had to send the speakers to a professional service. Then, I tired this trick. The first time it didn't work, but I thought to give it another chance and BOOM - there is musing to both of my ears. Thanks a lot!
I watched numerous vids and all had you replace a "broken" driver. Totally illogical as you would still get terrible distortion from a powered broken driver. Your solution was by far the easiest and obviously cheapest fix, hands down. I am very appreciative and can't thank you enough. I simply wedged a piece of folded thin cardboard material inside where you show and my problem is solved. Much appreciated!
I've had these headphones since I was 15, I'm now 23. As weird as it is to say it would've been very weird to lose these. Thank you sir, and here's to another 8 years.
Right side just stopped working on mine today, and after thoroughly checking all possible reasons, it came down to right headphone no longer working. Your video saved me having to buy new headset, this fixed my issue. Thank you!
Had same issue with Quite Comfort 35 and Bose store informed me as headphones were not under warranty and after they had examined and informed that they were broken and would offer discount for purchase of new pair...................and then your "fix" helps bring back headphones to life without having purchase new pair....my trust has gone for Bose staff..................although my trust remains in humanity with your help
You are a savior. I followed your instructions and fixed my RH speaker. Bose didn't want to replace a new one add its out of warranty but want me to buy one at discount. Rubbish. Your video was so easy to follow and in less than 10 min. Fixed. Thanks
My friend THANK YOU. I guess I’m at 4 years of having the Q-35’s and I’ve already had a replacement set sent to me by Bose for exactly the same reason... so yes right ear both times. I have been struggling with upgrading to the Bluetooth version based on the repeated right ear issue. This was so simple and so brilliant. I followed your instructions exactly. NOTE: If you’re looking for the copper wire, its towards the top of the opening and barely visible. Make sure you have your paper folded tiny and rigid, and gently poke the copper wire towards the top - sort of under the plastic framing. ALSO be cautious! Don’t poke downward towards the outside of the enclose - that’s your speaker and if you break that, well you’re done. Awesome fix. If I get another year or so out of these babies I might consider going Bluetooth.
are we just tapping the copper wire to make contact with the speaker? It worked for a second but then stopped working. Am I supposed to push the copper wire upwards?
Bro you really did save my life i am 16 years old and I was using the headphones and after a bump in the wall the the left side blew up and i can't here anything from that side my dad is currently in a meeting and i fixed it using this tutorial thanks you really saved me from getting beat up 😘🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Bose won't replace my 2014 QC-25 as too long out of warranty. So this video, 10 minutes of my time, and a small rolled-up sticky note later -- my $300 headphones are fixed. No more cutting out in the right channel; no appreciable diminution of sound quality or noise-canceling capability. THANK YOU U_DO_DIY C !!! (And this is not a hack, but an effective, field-expedient DIY fix for a poorly made, overpriced set of headphones).
you sir are a genius, I have had a pair old QC25 with a broken ear in a draw for years, this quick fix has brought them back to life... I ended up glueing a small plastic arm in place to hold the wire. Just awesome, thank you.
Thank you! I have no idea how you figured this out yourself, but THANK YOU for sharing this on UA-cam. It worked for me - and it only took 60 seconds to fix it. I used a wooden coffee stirrer and had to leave a piece in the headphones in order to keep the membrane pressed down. Even so, they now work perfectly! 😇
I am shocked. I was worried about my left headphone. I even order a new spare. But I saw your video. Put the paper inside and then ...its working!! Thank you. You tube is great thanks to people like you. All the best from Spain!!
300 comments full of people you’ve helped with this including me just now. Thanks so much. I was already researching new headphones- glad I came across this. I used a twist tie like from a bread bag as it seemed better than paper since it was firm but malleable. I had to tape it to get it to work but golden now. 🤙🏽
I had an annoying rattling sound (kind of like ping pongs) coming from the right side of my QC25 headphones. After using your technique the annoying rattling sound went away! Thanks heaps!
I've had my QuietComfort 15s for 8 years now, and you saved them. I thought they had finally bit the dust, but now they have life again. Will see how long this fix works. Thank you!
This absolutely worked for two pairs of old Bose QC3 headphones that I was about to throw out! I simply removed the ear pad, and poked around on the speaker membrane with the paper until the sound came back on the speaker that wasn’t previously working. One pair I left the small piece of paper wedged in, the other pair is working without the paper. Genius! Thanks a lot.
I have the same issue on the right side while connecting via bluetooth however speaker is working while connected via wire. were you facing the same issue or my issue is different? Any leads?
Dude I got these from a pawn shop it had no cord and when I got home I realized it was a 2.5 mm Jack I finally got the cord in the mail 2 weeks later and couldn’t wait to see if the headphones worked and when the right side didn’t work I was so bummed I didn’t know what to do but this video fixed it!! I’m so happy thank you!
I had a pair with a disconnection issue after 18 months of use, luckily it was in warranty and I got them replaced, but the next pair had the same issue after about 18 months too, I kept them but hadn't used them for years due to this issue (both sides had lost connection by now), thanks to you I have now revived my favourite pair of headphones! thank you so much mate
I assumed that this was crazy witchcraft when I watched it, but I am glad to say that it did in fact work! Saved me either $300 for new headphones or about $40 for a replacement speaker + soldering iron. Thanks so much!
I didn't believe it, but I tried without any hope and IT WORKS !!! thank you very much, you deserve more than a blue thumb but it is all we have !! thank you again !!
Worked like a pro.i would have saved cost of a new cable if I had referred to this video 2 weeks back 😄. It’s fun sometimes to repair. Thanks a lot for sharing this video
Bro thank you, mine was not working(left side) I was hopeless I left the headset for two weeks and today I search for the solution and it worked, took me 3mn. Thank you again.
Pulled qtip cotton heads, rolled them together to get the right thickness to wedge in-between the plastic and speaker skin. Worked ! Took about five minutes to find the right spot. Poke around the left top 11 -12 o’clock position and pushed the cotton down the inside plastic spoke till it locked between the speaker.
I got some as a gift from work, brand new and unopened. Worked fine out of the box but I rarely used them after the first few days. Couple months in I decide to break them out again. Right side wasn't working. Tried a few things online but no luck. Was close to opening my headset after watching this video. Instead, decided to few good, hard smacks and voila, worked like a charm. Although I'm sure customer service wouldn't like the sound of that if I ever need to call them. Probably wouldn't matter though considering I didn't technically make a purchase.
Yo!!! This just happen to me an hour ago in the bus when i wanna watch my anime. Left side nothing. No sound. Press abit got half a second sound. Now im at home. Your video was first which i found. I followed the safe way. It work!!! I am feeling wtf and thankful. I left the piece of paper inside.
Worked perfectly. Thanks. Gave up on them but found them in a drawer today and did a search and found your video. Pity BOSE won’t provide a fix for them. Read a lot of forums and found nothing but BS and software update recommedations 😡
Wow! Thanks so much for the solution. I called Bose twice and all they offered me was clean the cable tips with alcohol wipes. Then offered me to buy their new headphones for $225. I was going to buy a Sony and never buy a Bose again. Thanks for the quick fix!
Thanks so much for posting this. This worked for me when I was looking at spending a lot of money to replace them as they were out of warranty. Really appreciate it buddy.
wow, it fixed it...spent $430 for the rose color just month ago and was too late to call bose today. I followed your direction, and was very surprised. Seems like they have this 35 II for yeas with same issue and no fix from bose. Weird. Thank you
Hello I wanted to thank you very much for creating this video you are a genius to figure out this trick and you saved my headphones $400 for a pair of headphones and somethings so simple as a little tiny wire that gets messed up and just decided it doesn’t wanna work anymore unacceptable to such a reputable company as Bose. There should be massive class action lawsuits fired against this company the same way they did with Apple that any time this issue arises they have to repair that fault. Other than that anybody else that has an issue with these headphones the paper does not really work that well yes it forms a conductor but the conductor does not stay. What I did was after five hours of playing with a Post-it note not being able to get the damn thing to connect properly I stepped out of the box and use my unorthodox brain and broke a paper clip the small part take the paper clip and bend it down to form like an arch and then take the paper clip stick it in the hole once you have the connection get a piece of electrical tape tape it and put the casing back on the air phone boom fixed! I hope this helps somebody
I have QC2 headphones and I tried following your instructions with no luck. I poked around and on the silver foil but there was no result. I also cannot see a copper wire anywhere. Perhaps this fix is not possible on the QC2 headphones :(
Wow, I honestly thought this was fake/clickbait. Amazingly it actually worked man even tho i have Quietcomfort 15. Thanks a lot! it saved me a lot of time, money and needless running around. Cheers! my headphones now work perfectly
Wish I could give you more than a like! I had a pair that did this a few years ago, that I junked. I had another pair do this and was thinking I'd have to buy another replacement. But this is such a simple hack to get them working again! I had to leave the piece of paper in mine or they would not stay on, but they work again! Hurray! (note: these are Q25 apple version). My Q35s have so far worked with no problems.
Wow it actually worked, it was very intermittent for me but getting worse. Now did this and no issues anymore. Mine are 3 1/2 years old but now at least have a bit more life in them.
Wow this worked for me! For the bose qc35 ii there is a silver plastic layer underneath the holes that he was pushing the sticky note into. I pushed down on the top right and the speaker started working again. For me I needed to leave something there to continuously apply pressure so I stuck some cloth into the whole and left it there. It works great now! Thanks so much for the video!
I have the same issue on the right side while connecting via bluetooth however speaker is working while connected via wire. were you facing the same issue or my issue is different? Any leads?
Just adding to the slew of comments that this worked perfectly for me. Right side sound and noise cancelling was not working in my Bose QC25 headset. I followed this video and left the piece of paper in there and it works again.
Geez, this actually worked for me, did not expect that. Looked around for the wire with phone flashlight, then pressed with tiny piece of paper, sound immediately came out! Cheapest fix ever.
It does work. I was about to buy a $400 pair replacement and said "What the hell" might as well try, right? Well the little sticky note is now inside my left headset. noise cancellation and sound is now coming through both sides! wow. Thanks man, great video.
Perfect. Bought these as a gift for my girlfriend 3 years ago, and they just last week developed this issue. Got a piece of card, poked the membrane a bit until I found a spot that allowed it to play audio again, and lodged it in there. All good now! (until the piece of card dislodges itself)
Wow.. I did this on my QC3 headphones. I used a thin rubber hose that I cut into 1/4 and wedged it between the plastic grates and the driver and it works amazingly, Just listening to some music.. it's good as new... I thought these headphones were going to be junk or I was going to have to order a new set of drivers. Thank you!
my left ear really enjoyed this video
LOL. Me too! So much for Bose and high quality. This seems to be a rampant issue with their headphones
My headphones are broken too
Right ear for me
my headphone right speaker is not working
mine too now :D
6 year old QC25 that have just been reborn. Thanks so much for this hack, a quick touch of the copper wire and it was working. Genius
6 years laters and this fix is still relevant, thanks a bunch!

Bro, you are the real MVP!!! I was literally able to fix my earphones as I was watching you perform this tutorial!!!! Thank you so much!!!!
Wow Dude! You just saved my 2 yrs forgotten headphones! They're working just fine now! Thank You very much!

I can't forgive my self if I don't like this video... thank you boss you really save my life.. thanks once again
You have to love UA-cam and contributors like this. Who knew that a small piece of paper would fix what otherwise was going to be trash. Thanks!
I had an annoying rattling sound (kind of like ping pongs) coming from the right side of my QC25 headphones. After using your technique the annoying rattling sound went away! Thanks heaps!
You really are a genius. So glad like 100.000 other people I watched this. Worked for me. Thanks so much
Unbelievable! This fix actually worked on my Bose QC25 with the same problem. Glad I found this video.
My headphones started to act up like this and I thought it would never work again but then I found this video and it really helped alot. Thank you 🙏
I've had my QuietComfort 15s for 8 years now, and you saved them. I thought they had finally bit the dust, but now they have life again. Will see how long this fix works. Thank you!

You just saved me a couple hundred bucks! Thanks for this video!
Started the video with broken headphones, ended it with fixed ones. Thanks Man!
You are truly the king of kings

It worked! QC25 RH fixed. You are a magician. Thank you.
Totally worked for me, thank you, my beloved QC25 are back to life!
Legend! I was skeptical but this worked like a charm

worked like a charm, just listening to your video once again and hearing your voice on BOTH sides of my QC's :)
Hi mate, thanks for the video! I was searching for new headphones and now my old ones are working again! Thanks for the help!

Thank you so much for this video. Bought these headphones Second hand with the right ear not working. This fixed it instantly!
mine wont work and i keep poking
It would be great to see a teardown of the Bose A20 noise cancelling aviation headsets to see how they work and are assembled.
Worked perfectly. Thanks. Gave up on them but found them in a drawer today and did a search and found your video. Pity BOSE won’t provide a fix for them. Read a lot of forums and found nothing but BS and software update recommedations 😡
Epico! Works just as fine for QC35.. Really hope BOSE is aware of this epidemic fault so it could be fixed in newer models
Thanks for the fix and thanks for sharing 👌
Wow! Thanks so much for the solution. I called Bose twice and all they offered me was clean the cable tips with alcohol wipes. Then offered me to buy their new headphones for $225. I was going to buy a Sony and never buy a Bose again. Thanks for the quick fix!

You made another one more people happy today. Thanks you guy!
Weird. Thank you
Found the right video to fix my headphones 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 thanks God. I don't wanna spend another $$ for this 💖
You saved me a new pair of headphones thanks man. Much obliged.
Wow, you just saved me so much money. Thank you!!!!
I tried this and it works. Absolutely brilliant. Thank you.
Awesome fix....works perfectly for me with leaving the paper wedged inside. Thanks 🙏
Can't believe it worked !
Life saver ❤️
Man you saved me. Thank you so much!!! I used your technique, taped the paper down and now it works!!!
Oh.. I really appreciate it, coz no one dares to touch my BOSE QC35, I did it by myself by the help of this simple video, thanks
Wow, just like everyone else, it works on my QC25! Thank you very much.
I have QC2 headphones and I tried following your instructions with no luck. I poked around and on the silver foil but there was no result. I also cannot see a copper wire anywhere. Perhaps this fix is not possible on the QC2 headphones :(
THANK YOU!!!! Would have never thought to try this
Wow, I honestly thought this was fake/clickbait.
Very Nice Video thank you
it really worked with the qc 35ii 2019 too
Wow it actually worked, it was very intermittent for me but getting worse. Now did this and no issues anymore. Mine are 3 1/2 years old but now at least have a bit more life in them.
saw a video similar but this one im specific helped when you talked about the yellow wire thank you so much man
I pinched the paper and it works again. Thanks a lot.
Fix my left headphone thanks to you! Really appreciate it! Thanks!
Wow, this fix worked perfect! Left side stopped working, now good to go! I cut the paper to size one inserted and working.
I can't believe this just worked. Thank you so much!
It works perfectly ! 2min to repaire my Bose which I think was right hear dead... You're awsome thanks !
Any leads?
@@pranoysaha4782 I'm not sure. I never tried connecting via wire.
Thanks so much for posting this. Can confirm works also for the 'left' side!!
You’re a hero!!!!!! Was worried I would have to spend $200 more on a new pair, but this fixed in seconds!!!!
If you're reading the comments to see if this actually works then I have some great news for you. It 100% works
Just worked for mine 😎
I'm watching this video in 2020 and thank you so much, the headphones sound much better now. They sound like they did back in 2014.
This worked for my 3 years old QC35. Thanks for the video.
Can't say thank you enough, this is exactly what I needed to save my favorite headphones!
It does work. I was about to buy a $400 pair replacement and said "What the hell" might as well try, right? Well the little sticky note is now inside my left headset. noise cancellation and sound is now coming through both sides! wow. Thanks man, great video.
had to try for a little while to try the right spot, so definitely play music while doing it (without the battery in, just turn up the volume).
That's awesome! Works like a charm on the left earphone as well. Someone @Bose should watch this.
Thank you!
you saved my life thanks!!! works on BOSE QC35 ii (i left paper inside)
Thank you so much! Saved me a couple of hundred bucks for a newer pair of Bose 🤘
