鹿角市の伝統行事「花輪ねぷた」2023Traditional event "Hanawa Neputa" in KazunoCity,AkitaPref,JAPAN.

令和５年８月７日〜８日に行われました、秋田県鹿角市の伝統行事『花輪ねぷた』の様子をご紹介します。
花輪ねぷたの概要について
東北地方各地に存在する行事で、眠り→ねぶたい→ねぷたい、など方言が変化したものが語源と言われています。夏の暑さで頭がぼーっとするのを睡魔の仕業と考え、秋の収穫期を前に睡魔を祓う「眠り流し」行事として、江戸後期から明治初期にかけて行われた行事とされています。
かつては手持ちの灯籠と太鼓で行われた子どものための行事でしたが、若者が参加することで現在のような大型の屋台と大太鼓を用いた行事に変化しました。

It is said that this event was held from the late Edo period to the early Meiji period as a "Nemuri Nagashi" event to exorcise the sleepers demon before the harvest season in autumn, thinking that the foggy head in summer heat is the work of sleepers demon.
It used to be a children's event with hand-held lanterns and drums, but as young people began to participate, it changed to the current event with a large yatai (cart) and large drums.
