From favorite to least favorite: Unova Hoenn Alola Paldea Galar Kalos Kanto Johto Sinnoh Although the last 3 could go in any order. Being nearly the same theme as the gym leader theme made them ranked the lowest. It’s not that the gym leader themes are bad, it’s that they decided to re use them and didn’t change much.
Funnily enough the Sinnoh one is NOT the gym leader theme. Its pitched differently to it to make it stand out but it fails at it. Its more noticeable in bdsp tho
Yeah the Dynamax chant. Good way to hype up the climax of the battle. Sad they didn't do that with the E4 in Paldea, but there really wasn't a crowd there. Just us and them in a tiny little room lol. Too bad. I wouldn't have minded them making a huge spectacle out of it. Though, it really was just a "test" for you to become a Champion Rank trainer. C'est la vie.
I think mine are (in order by regional gen #, fave to least): 7 (Intensity is real!! This definitely screams "fight for your life!") 3 (honestly always loved this theme; Would go back and sit on Sydney's Mightyena for the longest time before actually fighting) 4 (also another huge fave; Gens 3 and 4 had my overall fave soundtracks, to the point where I got both remakes and all versions of 3 and Platinum with 4; I had a Palkia bias at the time of the OGs) 9 (tbh, I'm unsure about this one and the last ones; I just know my top 3 for certain) 2 5 6/8 are tied, but 8 goes to the bottom during the last part due to the overbearing chanting (imo, the Gym Leader did this better in the games) 1 (it's not "bad", it just doesn't have the same impact as others do, even with LGEP)
Unova, Sinnoh, Paldea, Alola, and MAYBE Kalos are the best in my personal opinion. Johto is pretty good, because it genuinely fits both gym leader and elite four theme music. Idk.
Hoenn, Unova, Alola, and Paldeas themes just all make the journey worth it
