- Here is a short film showing the British Airways A320 (ex British Midland fleet) G-MIDY at the break up area in the E Cube facility at St Athan, Wales; as well as the remains of one of the several ex German Eurowings Airbus' that flew to St Athan last year and have been scrapped. There is also footage taken from the Southside of the airport, showing the Etihad Airbus A320 that arrived earlier in the summer.
Compared to this time a year ago when I last visited St Athan, there are definitely fewer aircraft to see - many have been dismantled in these past 12 months.
You see this place on the Plane Reclaimers TV series. I have only been on three holidays when I was required to take a plane so I’m not so emotionally attached to them. I love what these guys do. All credit to the team at eCube for being able to find the willpower, strength, knowledge and expertise to make it humanly possible to physically tear down a huge aircraft and harvest the massive amount of parts to sell on to various customers for a variety of uses. The ultimate in recycling.
@paulanderson1962 Hi Paul yes you’re right - the ultimate in recycling indeed!
What a great shame seeing the retro BOAC 747 being broken up.
@r12004rewy yes very sad …
Do some sightseeing in Alice Springs maybe?
I saw an image of a stripped Scoot A320 and scrapped Nauru 737
@IndonesiaMajapahitNDPCA awesome suggestion. 👍✈️

@SteveAndAlexBuild 😢🙁
This plane represents Britain under Labour Party. Such a shame.
