Today, let's take a trip to Stormwind City, the capital of the Alliance. 9:15 Dave the quick is also a neat memorial for the first few people who reached level 60 in classic (vanilla). In this case its a paladin wearing the freshly introduced dungeon armor set which used this winged helmet as a placeholder since the set was not finished yet. Those few paladins who reached 60 early back then where allowed to keep it while everyone else received an updated different version of said helmet. I have mine to this day. This helmet is unobtainable to this day.

Great video! On the SI:7, just another curiosity: On the Brazilian Portuguese version, the name is "AVIN", which means "Stormwind Intelligence Agency", but it's also a reference to ABIN, the Brazilian Inteligente Agency ^^

I don't play WOW anymore but I stumbled upon your channel earlier this year and you are someone I watch regularly when I am getting ready for bed. Even though I haven't played in years, your videos provide such a great hit of nostalgia that is greatly appreciated. That world is huge. Keep doing a great job!
7:10 - Claudia Black did come in to Star Gate. She joined in season 9 (2005) as Vala Mal Doran.
And they made several Farscape references during that episode, including her outfit lol

The only thing you missed is the Warlock Trainer having the ability to teach you how to change the succubus into an incubus in the basement! I always found that hilarious!
The new class trainer areas in the two faction cities are nice for what they are, better than nothing, but they always make me think how small they are compared to the classes once having their own places - mage towers, shaman tents, rogue dens, the cathedral. Like they were part of the world. Those new areas feel like recruiting booths in a convention hall.
I have to agree with you. The warlocks hiding in the secret basement in the Mage District always drew me (not that I played a 'lock or anything coughs) for the name and the ambience. The cathedral was cool for Paladins and Priests, and I have to admit, I'm not sure WHERE the rogues were! I never played one :D I think the Druids were on the dock when you first came in the city? I might be wrong though. Not sure the other classes. (Yes, retail person here)
For me they just remind me of player housing. How cool would it be to have youre own house and decorate it with various items you could earn by doing old and new content
10:15 another great thing about the training hall, I just happened to recently visit it and found out, that NPC next to to the door sells a green weapon appropriate to newly made characters. I ran in there with my main so it wasn't an upgrade, but I can imagine alts would benefit buying a weapon the first time they go to Stormwind. I thought that was useful to keep in mind.
Edit: so I found that she actually sells transmogs of Exile's Reach weapons (only if you've completed the zone with one of your characters before).
I really hope you continue to make these vids. This type of content is so refreshing to see and so entertaining to find out the stories behind the many npcs.
It makes some sense that they originally used Claudia Black's Farscape character name since that is where she is best known from, even though she was also in SG-1 in the last couple seasons.

Stargate is a series that's been on my list forever - just so many seasons and shows I need to watch! Thanks for pointing out that Black was in that franchise too, makes total sense why a character inspired by her would be in this area now.
@@FullMotionVideos you should most definitely give it a go. The first season wasn't the strongest of them but as it goes on the series gets better and better up untill they finish the Goa'uld arc. After that it gets a bit iffy. But it's still good. Atlantis was also a really really great sci-fi series. If you are someone who likes sci-fi the series is a must watch. Also, great videos :)
If you go up the stairs in the Pig and Whistle you'll find a vendor for recipies no longer given by cooking trainers.

The "Fingers" bit is just to make the Trek reference more obvious. Since McCoy's nickname is so often included in quotations like that, the NPC's name is done the same way but "Fingers" was chosen simply because he's a Rogue in a Rogue area, and nicknames that incorporate the word fingers are not uncommon for thieves/pickpockets. As for Dapnhe, while I've never seen her do the party myself, I can tell you she DOES do a /yell in the area about getting down and funky occasionally. Having spent many hours at the training dummies setting up keybinds and writing/testing WeakAuras I see it all the time. As for Aeryn, it's a double-reference. Claudia Black played in BOTH FarScape and StarGate (in the latter seasons.)
Wow, big respect that you dig that deep. I never could think that almost every character has something more than just a name. Will come to say hi to Karin one day. That's rough. But still, I am positively surprised that developers didn't forget about her and updated her model.

Claidia Black was in the last 2 or 3 seasons of Stargate SG1. Her character was named Vala Mal Doran. She was a former host to Qetesh.

I have heard there’s supposed to be a whole Nother section to the stockades that we players haven’t seen yet. Perhaps that sewer entrance was the intended way to get in. Something similar to what Orgrimar had under it in it’s raid.

6:00 The mysterious fully-rendered sewer entrance is part of many examples of cut content. IIRC, in vanilla, there was going to be a second dungeon within Stormwind, but that was scrapped and the portal never used. The sewers was going to replace that abandoned idea... and was also abandoned. My guess is they didn't want to put anymore dungeons in the game that are stuck within a faction city. It was likely left in as reference and homage to the original.

An early WoW quest for rogues was from Goldshire to Stormwind to go get your poisons, it was called Seek Out SI:7 and because i loved my rogue, the humans, and miss that quest i got it as a tattoo. Everybody ive met has no idea of the reference. So its a person easter egg of mine.

Man, a lot of people that worked on this game passes away due to illness. It must have been stressful.
Claudia Black was in Stargate SG1 and Farscape, and so was Ben Browder. Both of them joined SG1 around the same time in the later seasons iirc.
In the original before cataclysm world there was actually supposed to be a dungeon or Raid I think it was actually a raid and it was supposed to be like Stormwind sewers plus The Stockade but that got scrapped and I believe that entrance was one of the extra entrances that a lot of dungeons used to have the main dungeon portal was behind one of those bigger silver Gates by one of the canals in the water or behind storming keep I can't exactly remember

Claudia Black did play a character in the final 2 seasons of the Stargate series and direct to DVD movies, that is why the NPC nod to her is/was there. Don't forget "General Hammond Clay" who replaced Marcus Jonathan if you're doing a future video.

9:19 Jay Garrick is the one with the winged helmet, that appears to be Barry Allen (or post-crisis, pre-flashpoint or post-Rebirth Wally, it's kind of hard to tell them except when Wally was wearing his DC Rebirth (and later Dr. Manhattan, no seriously) costume)
I heard Dave the Quick's helm was the original Lightforge helm, so the quickness comes from how quickly he got the loot.

There's another Easter egg in the Pig and Whistle. Immediately to your left as you walk in the front door, there is an NPC called Xavier Carpenter. This is (likely) a reference to professional wrestler and video game aficionado Xavier Woods, currently wrestling for WWE.

9:10 Dave’s transmit is actually based on the original dungeon set in vanilla, for about a month the helmet used to look like that until they changed it to look worse (IMO) so he still has the look of the first iteration of the Paladin dungeon set.
