Maybe a little adjustment, but I personally enjoy that extra buzz. It's a personal preference type of thing.

Is this a guitar or a bass, you keep referring to it as a guitar, I was under the impression that this is a bass. You tend to refer to it as a guitar and sometimes a bass, I'm confused 😕
A bass is a type of guitar. Bass is short for bass guitar. Make no mistake though this is a bass guitar.

When Leo Fender re invented the bass in 1951, he called it the electric bass
cause it was a derivative of the big acoustic bass which produced its sound through the f sound holes, but the new electric bass was called that because it needed electrification to produce its sound and when I was growing up, on the credits of a album jacket, bass was either referred to as Fender bass, bass or electric bass. Squire makes an instrument which looks like a lead guitar but is referred to as a bass six ,but you can play it either way, several companies make this concept as well and I can see this type of instrument being called a bass/guitar.

@@mlchaelphelps1158 The important thing we shouldn't lose site of is it doesn't really matter in this context. Bass, bass guitar, guitar. We all know exactly what he's talking about. Isn't that what's important? Are you confused over what the instrument being demonstrated is?
@@mlchaelphelps1158The Squire Bass VI is tuned an octave lower than a normal guitar and looks like it uses guitar strings. If you watch the video it's very apparent he's playing a bass as it's an octave lower in pitch than a guitar, has a 34" in scale, and uses bass strings. I mean he could refer to as a ring-tailed lemur, but you should still be able to see and hear that it's a bass.
it's a bass guitar. They have always been known as bass guitars.
I don't know why the electric bass is referred to as a guitar rather than an electric bass. I know for a fact that if I go Into a studio gig, I'll be reading music from the bass clef, not the treble clef. The world is already confused about what a woman or a man is, do we have to bring that confusion to the universal communication of music and the Instruments there of? I'm an electric bass player, and I have sometimes after a gig have mothers come to me and ask can I teach their child to play guitar. When I tell them that this instrument strapped across me is an electric bass, they are confused. You can call it what you want, but the instrument I play is the electric version of the upright acoustic bass. Essentially I play the same function as the upright, bass and not the guitar.
