Volvo 740 D24T engine cold start after 30+ days. Part 1

- d24t sat 8y then saved and refurbed, resealed. Before this coldstart it sat for over a month. Started on half mix of ATF and diesel fuel, 9sec of glowplugs at 55F. Runs good. Coldstart waxstat device is good and is ON.

Good afternoon. Beautiful operation of the Coldstart waxstat system ! On my volvo 244, this system does not work and it is very expensive for me to restore it.

VW turbodiesel 6cyl engine made for Volvo cars, 2.4Liter, 6cyl smooth beast. Enjoy. This one got saved from the crusher. 1985, 182000miles.
Where do you live? And how much did the engine cost? Thats how a diesel should start haha
Hi Doctor, the engine starts nicely, yes. All my diesels start like that. These vw diesels need to be set to factory specifications and treated well, then all things go smoothly. The engine was removed from a car that I bought cheap, this way it got saved from the crusher. In the us people don`t know these engines as well as people do in Europe. We had much less of the cars that were equipped with these motors.
