The bonus footage allowed me to do it right the first time and in less than 10 minutes!. This is exactly what an instructional video should be like. Thank you!! 3:19
Lost my temper trying to replace my kuga rear wiper. Had a cup of tea and calmed down. watched this and went back and replaced it in seconds. Thank you from the UK.
The bonus footage really help me thank you 🙏🏻 Bought Trico rear 5-110 open the package up and I was lost because none of the adapters looked the same as the original. I was going to return the new wiper blade back to the store before I saw your video.
Right around the 2:26 mark was gold. For some reason I didn't understand that the plastic piece in the center of the blade is what needed to move forward. My whole wiper blade pulled out without moving that plastic mount so I held onto both sides of the blade and shifted it right, towards the passenger side and it popped out. This allowed me to push it forward as shown. Thank a million.
Well I'm watching this video, which actually helped, after I broke the wiper arm after watching other videos that said the wiper just pops off. Your how to is very clear to understand, thank you.
Thank you, thank you so much for your video! I was looking for a video on a 2018 Ford EDGE SEL rear wiper blade replacement. Videos for my make and model year DON'T exist. I only found some for the 2015- 2021 Edge. I tried popping the off blade and almost broke wiper arm. Wiper arm only lifts up 2 inches from window. Your video, for the 2018 Escape, worked! My car has the pull/snap then pop off release, also. After market part is Autoboo 15 inch OE: FT4Z17526A (2 blades per package from Amazon) that just snaps on to wiper arm, doesn't lock in. I'm good to go for the next rain storm!
Great info! Want to replace my original Ford wiper with a new Motorcraft wiper. Not sure what the adapter was for on the Trico replacements & your video did an excellent job of explaining the difference.
Thank you for this. At the parts store they couldn't figure out how to get the rear wiper off until I suggested UA-cam. I was afraid they would break it. Next time I will go buy it and put it on myself to be safe.
Hmm, maybe this is why the replacement blade I installed last year on our 2014 won't come off... Pulling away from the arm isn't working. Wife has the car right now, so I can't check it until later. Thanks for showing both types of blades.
The design appears to be different on my UK Ford Kuga MK2. Pulling the wiper blade to the side just caused it to slide inside the clip. I tried to remove the wiper arm completely but after removing the nut and washer the blade was seized solid on the spindle. So last resort was to take a screwdriver and carefully pop the wiper blade off the clip, and bingo off she popped. So there is no clip with a horizontal slot on the UK Mk2, the replacement blade simply clips onto the arm underneath. Carefully pop it off with a screwdriver, then line up the new blade and push it back on.
Thanks... I think my blade was on too long. When I pulled to the right, the blade slipped in the connector, but by pulling it all the way through to the stop on the end, I was able to get the connector to release.
So I pulled to the right I pulled the blade off its holder with the holder stuck to the arm. I can slide the wiper back through but it's now slides out when I tug. Guessing to the garage I go.
I have a UK 2018 model year Ford Kuga ST-Line 2.0 TDCi and the rear wiper blade has a different connector to shown in this video. My rear wiper arm pivots all the way up to give access and the blade just pops out forwards. New blade just pushes back in and clicks tight. NOT sideways. If in doubt contact your local Ford dealer first with VIN chassis number for correct wiper blade part number.
I would suspect because the glass is pretty short, and they wanted the wiper to have the widest sweep possible without going over the top of the rear window. But yes, it does look ridiculous. Good thing I don’t have to look at it from the driver’s seat 😂
I just went to my local auto parts store and asked for a "rear wiper blade". They had several different kinds, unfortunately they did not have the Ford Motorcraft ones in stock - so I bought the Trico 55-110 instead. The customer was very happy with the replacement wiper blade.
It’s held on by a nut (13mm head, if memory serves). The nut is hidden by a plastic cap, you just need to pry the cap off gently to reveal the nut. Hope this helps!

Same for me! Was ready to take the wiper blade back to Auto Zone and saw this in the Bonus Footage!!

I watched so many of these videos and tried the methods in them… this was the only method that worked! Thanks so much!

Glad I could help
Thank you! I was ready to take the nut off and pull the entire assembly off the shaft like you did. SO glad I watched it first.

Thank you for making this video, which covers the Ford OEM and the primary Trico replacement blade removal and installation.
You are welcome!
Thank you for this tutorial! I most certainly would have broken the arm. Kudos to showing an alternative part option as well!
I appreciate this video so much. I was having the hardest time trying to figure this rear blade out. Thank you for your time
Perfect. I was trying screw drivers and everything else!!!! When I pulled to the right and heard the click I couldn’t help but smile.
Thank you so much, if I didn't watch this, I probably would have snapped the arm of. You're awesome. Stay safe.
Glad to help! Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment!
The bonus footage was really helpful as my replacement is very similar. Thank you
Great info! Want to replace my original Ford wiper with a new Motorcraft wiper. Not sure what the adapter was for on the Trico replacements & your video did an excellent job of explaining the difference.
Great info and explained it in simpler terms!

thank you very helpful

100% better instruction than the Ford escape manual, which just says remove and replace.
Thanks! This is exactly what I needed to see.
Thanks. I had a 2018, and couldn’t figure it out
Same here!! Who would have thought I would have to go to UA-cam to figure out how to change the damn rear wiper blade!
Great video. The European S-max has the same design from 2016
Simple thing to do but seeing the pin made it very easy to visualize how to do it.
Not to be repetitive, but thank you so much my friend. Very informative and greatly appreciated.
Glad it was helpful! You're very welcome!
Thank you! This video was perfect. I bought a Trico Rear blade for our 2015 Escape and the website was no help at all for installation. Thanks.👍
✌❤
Thank you so much for this! My wife has the older model escape and I guarantee I would have ripped off the wiper
Thank you. Completed replacing with rain x model in a few minutes.
Good info. We have the older style.

Yes, this! Exact same thing happened to me. Just pull towards the window on the UK model 👍
Very comprehensive video.
Thx.
A great video, thanks for the info.
Nicely done!!! Thank you very much for your help!
Very helpful video. Thank you!
You're welcome!
Fantastic. I always look to youtube for assistance.
Trying to replace the whole arm, but even with the nut off, it’s stuck. How can I get it off?
Extremely helpful! Thanks!!
Glad it was helpful!

Thank you so much for your help, very helpful. My name is Ivo.
Now it is very simple. Great video!
Thank you for this video!!
Thanks for posting , great help.
Very helpful! Thank you!
Will this method work on 2021 Ford bronco sport?

Thank you for your help 🙏
Thank you. I was struggling with mine.
Glad I could help!
Why does Ford use an 11” blade with a wiper arm that’s 9”. It looks ridiculous right from the factory
I would suspect because the glass is pretty short, and they wanted the wiper to have the widest sweep possible without going over the top of the rear window. But yes, it does look ridiculous. Good thing I don’t have to look at it from the driver’s seat 😂
Thank you my good sir, you are a gentleman and a scholar.
Bonus feature needed. Should put a warning at the beginning 😂 I was almost headed back to parts store and heard the bonus.
Very Informative. Thanks.
Thinks, I may just need a refill, but the rubber came off my wiper. Going to practice this tomorrow.
thanks, 2018 edge, I was afraid to force it!
Same
Thank you 👍🏼
What is the name for the replacement wiper?? Can't find it anywhere 2017 Ford Escape
I just went to my local auto parts store and asked for a "rear wiper blade". They had several different kinds, unfortunately they did not have the Ford Motorcraft ones in stock - so I bought the Trico 55-110 instead. The customer was very happy with the replacement wiper blade.
@@AKJeeper found a trico! Thanks for the tips
Thanks. It worked.
Our 2018 rear blade looks nothing like that... Wonder why that is?
The mechanism, that is. It's a 2018 and it just pops off
Thank you!!
Thank you!!! 💀🔥
Thank you
Super thanks👍🏼😊
How do you take off the whole bar(arm)
It’s held on by a nut (13mm head, if memory serves). The nut is hidden by a plastic cap, you just need to pry the cap off gently to reveal the nut. Hope this helps!
@@AKJeeper thank you 👍, got'er done
Very useful thanks
Good clear info
thanks great help
thankyou
Kuga dm2 not same 2019...and cannot get the arm off seized on as usual with these steel nut to alloy housing...🤬
Dang. Sorry to hear about the arm being seized. That's such a common problem on these!
PS If you have a MK2 look at the UA-cam entitled ‘2015 Ford Escape Rear Windshield Wiper Replacement’.
It's like eating a lobster.
The video was great and it easy when you how Thanks very much the video was very informative.
Very helpful, thanks!
Thank you!
very helpfull...thank you...
