Thoroughly enjoyed the first set. Reminded me of my friend and I challenging my two sons-in-law to some doubles. We old guys fared quite well. There is something to be said for experience and wisdom, even though we cannot chase down all the balls we used to be able to.

Way too many unreturned serves from the kids. They seem to feel the idea is to tee off 100% on every second serve, which is great I guess if you're making them, but not when you're dumping them in the net or spraying them, leading to easy holds every time. They have great strokes tho, great attitudes, really fun to watch. Will be looking forward to seeing if they make any adjustments in the second set!

I am not surprised when this first set was only a warmup for the young guys. In hindsight. And they are more dominant make less mistakes in the second set. I can already tell once they are dailed in on the court they play a much higher pace much faster ball then Ian & ira are used to handle once the tall guy gets those forehands over the net more consistent they are in trouble. He has such a big arm. I feel on this court he needs to sit a little lower have an even wider stance, loading those legs, that alone would help him a lot on this court.

Amateur tennis is a joke! When you have good technique like these guys, it’s a problem when it
Comes to consistency because without much talent, the speed of the ball causes the technique to break down.. It’s unlike other sports in that way.. Pros are the only truth behind being able to play the sport.. Anything short of that carries ego and some weird snobby thinking.. When he saids us old guys have more experience it’s such a ridiculous statement.. With balls that speed, there is not strategy, it’s all skill. The pros can strategize cuz their technique or skills doesn’t break down in stupid ways.. I fucken hate tennis at a recreational level or high amateur level because of how naive people are about true talent..
