Another good morning of trains. Love it when you film in Deshler. Used to come down there from Michigzn on a regular basis during the warmer months would hang out in the park stay in my car for overnights got to know the local folks and fans. Couldn't sleep cause train traffic gets busy through the night hours. I would count all the train as well as video tape and take still shots. Cool little old town. Miss it, I cant get down there now do fo health reasons. Seeing your videos helps to see how things are there like the old station gone. Thanks for all your videos they are cool
Great railfan video from a beautiful town in Mid-America. Love the mix of Deshler, OH’s traffic: big trains, autos, trucks, people walking and even riding John Deere mowers. Love it. All in the beauty of smalltown USA. Thank you.
Cool video. That rail was rolled in Steelton Pa. I was working there when that was rolled. 141 rail were the largest rail road rail we rolled. Largest rail we rolled was a 175 Crane Rail for the big dock cranes on the coasts of the U.S. The CSX First Responders is very cool.
This is a nice video of trains that you saw in Deshler, Ohio on 1 August 2023, Jaw Tooth! The nixed freight trains offered a variety of freight cars. The CSX 911 engine "Honoring 1st Responders" is an impressive unit. It really stands out. I liked the tour of some of the buildings in Deshler, Ohio. The back ends of the buildings were interesting to see. A model railroader could have fun using your video as inspiration for buildings on his model railroad.
I can't say enough about Deshler...what a beautiful, "homespun" place...the buildings are wonderful, train activity beyond compare. Thanks for the tour "around town", JT. That manifest train crossing a diamond @13:20 and beyond was priceless...screenshots "galore" with the silo as a backdrop...talk about "getting lost in time"... 👍👍👏👏
Hello Joe tooth I hope you get to meet some locals the cool people my son and I spent some overnights there I could even camp there as it’s great place to railfan and great action. I hope to be back there soon. Thanks for bringing it to us and hats off to you.🚂🚂👍🏻🙏🏼
Really awesome video; One of your best! I very much appreciated that you showed that view looking south on the Toledo sub from the downtown area and the train going north. I don't think I've ever caught anyone's videos that had that specific view. It's usually always from the park. Enjoyed that tremendously; And, congratulations on catching the 1st Responder engine. Another new thing for me. Thank you for all you do! 😀
Hey J.T., I really enjoyed seeing that CSX 1st Responder Locomotive DPU on the end of that one train! That was INCREDIBLY AWESOME!!! Thanks for sharing this magnificent looking Engine with all of us rail fans! So very cool!!!
Deschler, Ohio is a wonderful place. I especially like that engine that honors the firefighters. What a beautiful engine. You have to visit here more often. One of my favorite places. Have a nice day 😊🌈
Cool, like that CSX #911 First Responders "Red" locomotive @ "23:16" and slide show "36:43" & "36:48" definitely the highlight of the day. Great seeing the Signal Box Tower @ 📦 "25:49" , thanks for such a great day at Deshler Ohio ( 2023 ) population 1588.❤
I usually watch the Deshler railroad on the Virtual Railfan camera and I like how the tracks go around the city there and this is a really great video of Deshler and seeing your cat and dogs are always great to see in the videos Thank You Jaw Tooth. 🤠🐈⬛🦮🇺🇲🇺🇲 🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🇺🇲💨
Love the sound of the wagons going over that diamond . Don't have those in the UK , nor can you get near to the tracks like your able .Hope your well, certainly look it 🇬🇧
Deshler is a very cool RR town, from the railfan park, old B&0 signals still in use to that neat B&O caboose. Awesome catch of CSX 911 in DPU mode too. And of course the diamonds. Great job JT.
This location just can't be beat for train watching. I once watched a very long train pass through here with very long wind turbine blades. Each blade was longer than the rail car so they were on pivoting mounts so that they could go around curves.
Good to be a American, 911 train was awesome to see and it's a 4th time I saw it. It nice to see csx aplouding our first responders. I think wide world of trains showed it,and other train guys and now you finally have one in your video. Thank you dad for another awesome videos. God bless you.
The first responder locomotive was an awesome catch! Great little town! Sad they tore the depot down there. Wish the community would have come together to save it. Thanks again JT for another awesome video!!!
Wondeeful stuff! I have been there a few times back in the late 2000s and early 2010s. Hope the B&O signals wont be replaced soon! It really is a friendly town!
Thanks for another great video. Love that CSX did that tribute to First Responders (23:15). Too bad more RR's didn't do something like that. I was hoping you would catch those old signals changing.
Nice catch of the tribute loco! Never saw that one before! At least not that I recall. I think I'd remember that one. And I don't watch WWOT anymore, too boring - same trains at the same places day after day after day. As I've stated before, I do enjoy the variety you present to us, and I thank you again for doing what you do!
The diamond there at Deshler is so cool! There's a couple of sister UA-cam channels that have live webcams there, but I don't remember what they're called.
I don’t know if you are aware of this but the two track mainline through Deshler was reduced to a single track in the mid 1980’s. I don’t know how far it was limited to a single track but it was rebuilt in the mid 1990’s as a dual track line. Also the Toledo sub from Toledo to Deshler was seldom used except for a daily local. All southbound traffic was routed south to Fostoria then rerouted west on the CSX main to Deshler where it was rerouted again southbound at Deshler. The Toledo sub began to see more traffic in the mid 1990’s as well. Love your videos by the way. Another bit of history is that when Henry Ford built the DT&I railroad he had to build bridges over the New York Central and Wabash in Delta, Ohio. The Wabash line is long gone but the former New York Central is now Norfolk and Southern. The old DT&I line goes south through Leipsic, Ohio and connects with the Toledo subdivision of CSX just south of Leipsic.
I still have structure terminology in my head. We usually use Alpha side as the road where the driveway is, and charlie side as the backside of the structure from the road.
Hello Jaw, another very nice video. I think the motif with the signal box and the train in front of it (train locomotive 3065) is great. Such shots are also my favorites. Unfortunately, here in Germany there are fewer and fewer signal boxes that are still in operation. The red CSX 911 looks great. luck is part of it. Many greetings from Germany Wolfgang
I do like Deshler videos! I hear that those diamonds get beat up and need to be repaired or replaced pretty often. I read that somewhere, then I heard someone mention that same thing, makes sense! Deshler is a great place, small with old buildings, awesome feel. Thanks Brian, for doing what you do so well!
August 1st was a great day! We were in Ohio celebrating a birthday and rode the Jet Express to PIB. Had a great memory we took back to Ruskin Florida with us. See you had a great day too. A terrible car train crash in Plant City last evening. 9/24/23. 5 killed.
Deshler Ohio, that's a new one to me. Beautiful small town. I am glad to see they have gates and lights at their crossings. Down in Tampa Florida, there is a RR Crossing without gates, RR Crossing signs, or any flashing lights. Just simply a regular stop sign. Recently 6 people were killed after the SUV they were riding in was hit by a train at that crossing. A 7th passenger remains in the hospital.
Deshler, Ohio. Known as "Crossroads of the B&O Railroad." Late most every night there is a very long taconite (iron ore) train on the Toledo.Sub. It runs from Toledo docks to Middletown Steel. 4 or 5 hours later it returns north with empty cars. I believe that the southbound steel slabs are going to Middletown too.
Wow! What a day! You got 911 and that's something special. I've seen it on the Virtual Railfan videos once or twice but never on a Live Action Pass like that, Jaw Tooth. About 10 miles of Railcars passing through there. I seem to recognise that apartment building...something to do with a raid? I could be wrong, as usual! I hope you're all keeping well at the JT Homestead! Keep safe now. Fantastic place, Deshler, Ohio. Some place. Cheers!
Hi JT, I was only thinking yesterday I wonder if you had been to Deshler recently then here you are! @@JawToothHi JT, you are right, I've seen Millieniumforce video it's Plant City Florida with the near misses at the diamonds. I can't see anything for Deshler. My mistake! ❤😊
Thats okay. Speaking of Plant City, on Saturday they had a van hit by a train at a crossing. 6 people were killed and one person lived. The same crossing had a truck hit there a couple years ago with a fatality. It's a flat area dont know how it happens. @@Carolb66
@@JawToothHi JT, that is such a tragedy, I've seen pictures of the scene yes its a flat crossing you can see both directions easily, no lights or barriers though, maybe after this they will re think that, just terrible. ❤💔😥
That was an awesome DPU honoring our first responders! They really don't get enough respect. There were also some very large box cars. Good catch JT! 😊😊😊❤❤❤
Great vids JT! I enjoy your style. I particularly enjoy seeing the old roadbeds , buildings, equipment , whatever infrastructure is left out there. Nice that you caught the 911 power. 141 lbs rail is exactly the same as136 rail, except for a taller head for longer wear.
wow the old B&O signals are just awesome don't see those up here at all in saskatchewan and the intermodel mixed freight trains are super nice old caboose you see a lot of interesting rr stuff thank you
