- Railroad Diamonds In Deshler, Ohio With Long Trains! Train Drops The Signal. New Angle At The Diamonds Rarely Filmed, Foreign Power On CSX Trains. Baltimore And Ohio Railroad Signals Still In Use. Leipsic Norfolk Southern Train Included. Some Of The Longest Intermodal Trains Ever.
There are a couple of 3 track railroad crossings in town that you will see in this video. Trains crossing the railroad diamonds in Deshler Ohio and a look at the old Baltimore And Ohio Railroad color position signals that are still in use. The railroad diamonds were recently replaced. Check out the angle that I got of a train with Union Pacific locomotives. Have you ever seen anyone film from that angle at the diamonds? This train was huge and was headed eastbound on the CSX main line from Chicago.
We also take a look around town and see the fire station. The railroad diamonds are located next to Crossroads Park which is a favorite location for railfans. I road up here with Scott 1960gambit. This is Part 1 of 2 videos that I will post from Deshler. On the way up to Deshler we stopped near Leipsic, Ohio and filmed an eastbound Norfolk Southern intermodal train.
Don't miss the Live Action Pets & the slide show that comes from the video near the end.
Filmed Thursday, October 10, 2024 in 1080p with 60fps. Thanks for watching!
Please thumbs up and watch another JawTooth video to help my channel.

I love your videos, Jawtooth! I like the way you show all kinds of interesting things about the areas you visit, and not just nonstop trains. Keep it up please!
Thanks and will do
Years ago, I had a job monitoring and retiring Schneider tractors from the fleet. I am glad to see them shipping trailers on the rails through Ohio. There was always a lot of truck traffic there.
Thanks Jaw tooth, that was a really good video, love the up close stills at the end. Hope you have a very good day, my friend.
Thanks for watching and I hope you have a very good day also!
I like the CRYO-TRANS refrigerated boxcars and reading the different names on them. Awesome content as always, Brian!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks 👍
TY *#Thank_You**"* for doing the traveling of viewing Trains at different locations, that a lot of us "Train Fans" would Love to be able to do; but for many of various reasons can not do.
Good morning and thanks for watching!
I love this Mr Jawtooth awesome job catching trains and also stay warm have a good day!
Good morning and thanks for watching!
Awesome train day in Desler long CSX coming around curve great shot. You might have some distant kin in Desler
Great railfan videos from Northern Ohio, thank you JT. Love the videography and commentary. Boxcars are my favorites also.
Awesome catch on the diamonds.Don't have any near me. But i was able to capture two consecutive trains dropping signals on Sunday.Just thought i would mention the Reading & Northern 2102 runs this weekend and next weekend. Great video. Very cool on the foreign power.
Nice catch the 2 intermodals.
@@jameschristiansson3137 Thank you.
I ❤ Deshler. That N/S intermodel in Leipsic was awesome! It was bookin. wow it was a long one JT. beautiful crossing in the countryside. 2nd UP intermodel was awesome too nice shot slamming those diamonds! Fab video JT. 😊
Thanks for watching!
I like your introduction to the towns you visit. Too bad the train station got demolished
Thanks for watching! I was there filming it right before they tore it down. I think it was last year maybe
Pretty great...likes the flat farmland shot..also 3 different sets of locomotive...Union Pacific engines are great looking...thanks JT
That video is a cracker JT, there is something very enjoyable about these little towns you film in.
And I really like the flat lands, I do enjoy big skies.
Keep up that good work JT.
It’s very much appreciated here in the middle of England
Just awesome as always JT thank you very much Sir 😊🏴🇺🇸
Glad you enjoyed it
@@JawTooth Always JT thanks 😊
Thank You Jaw Tooth! Great trains and nice weather too! Kool
Great video JT. Nice railfanning spots. Love the sunshine, blue skys and railway diamonds in Deshler. Clickity clack.
Many thanks!
Thank you for great videos. Thank you for showing us around the town too
Thanks for watching!
Awesome
Good morning and thanks for watching!
Your videos are so interesting, Jaw Tooth! A mini-travelogue in each one. I'm old, not just old school, and I can remember when trains were not covered in grafitti. To me that's not art, it's a lack of respect for someone else's property. Just a short hop and a skip from that to the wholesale thievery and looting of trains and trucks that goes on today! I like boxcars that look new, without extra paint. Actually, I always liked to see cabooses. They were cute! That little park is cute too! Take care!
I agree with you. When I was young there wasn't much graffiti. I also lived by the tracks and got to see the caboose everyday. I loved it. Anyway, thanks for watching my videos and commenting!
😊God bless you and your family, and the pets! 😀
The positions are on their way out? Oh no! Leave them. But I understand. Oh boy. That place will look different and weird. Damn. Technology. Oh well. Like to see old signals stand guard in the new millennium. Great video Jawtooth!
Deshler is nice place and diamonds great rail fanning great video thanks Brian
Good morning my friend, I hope you have a great day. Are you heading anywhere this week? If so be safe out there and God bless🇺🇸🙏🏻
Yes I am! I am going to Muncie, Indiana and also Seven Mile Ohio
Maybe Northern Ohio to film 765 also
@@JawTooth are you going by yourself or are you and Scott traveling together? Y’all be safe out there.
Hey good to see you benching the freight art! Some of the stuff is really nice art! Thanks for sharing the trains
Amazing videos jaw tooth keep up the good work
Thanks and will do!
Awesome as usual. Always love the Deschler action, thanks JT!
Gondola is my favorite. Nothing gets more abuse and wear and tear than those. They still keep on going. I've seen some really beat up ones and they still keep rolling along.
My favourite train cars are grain and ethanol cars. I also like double stacked inter-modals with freight containers that have the word “tex” written on them. Thanks Jaw Tooth for bringing fun train videos to some dude from Australia.
My name is Greg .ielke my birthday is Nov. 11th. I will be 79. I love your videos. I've been watching them for years.
I love your two cats. They are so cut6. Keep up the good work.
Awesome Trains today.
I love those brand new Big Blue Boxcars!
Pretty cool seeing them without graffiti
That looks like a great place for trains.
It would be fun to rent that house too Brian 🏡😏 I would love to live in a house right by the tracks for the rest of my life🎉😍🚆😏
It would be fun. I miss living by. the tracks
@@JawTooth Wow Brian, I would have never left that house, they will have to tear me away from that house 🥲😁😏
Hey jaw tooth awesome trains. Great location for railfans. Fire siren reminds me of lunch hour. It would go off every day at noon. I like all freight cars. Have a great railroad day. 🚂🙋♀️
Thanks Brian , always a good location and a good variety of trains too 😊
The refrigerated boxcar, in small letters at the tail end: "NEED MORE BEERS"
Cool, I didn't notice that
Curiosity prevailed so I ran the video again and indeed there was that profound statement. I took the liberty of looking up Hans Place and there is one in SE Ohio specifically Dover in Amish Country 177 Mi away. There is also a Corner Tavern with that name in Tacoma WA. This kind of research almost requires a cold one!
Another great video Brian, I have to agree, overall box cars are the best but as just single cars go the older conrail coil cars and the Pillsbury cylindrical hopper is the best single picks.. I like when you get away from the cross roads park and give a different perspective on the place, I did a few different spots like that a few years ago just to break it up.. and you may already know this but just in case.. I spent a few hours in Leipsic, if you stop in Leipsic Ohio behind the funeral home is a diamond. East and West rolls NS and north south rolls CSX. And the CSX line runs right up to deshler so if your that way again might be worth a stop and look for ya.. appreciate the time you spend railfanning for your subscribers.. hope you have a good rest of your week..
I will have another video from Deshler with trains from more different spots. I walked over to the tower and filmed a couple of them. I haven't been to Leipsic yet. I want to get there and check that out. Thanks for the info and thanks for watching. Have a good week also!
Thanks for the trains up in NW Ohio. My old stomping grounds. It was funny and I told Steve also that last Thursday afternoon I tuned into the live railfan site for Deshler. I was watching when a guy stepped into view and I thought that guy looks a lot like Mr Tooth. I looked closer and sure enough it was you and then a little later I noticed Steve. You were waiting for a train that had stopped. It’s much better seeing the trains from ground level than on the different cameras mounted at the various sites. I look at the Deshler and Fostoria cameras several times a day. I’m guessing that’s about a three hour or so drive for you guys. For me it’s closer to a 7 or 8 hour drive so that’s a little too far to go very often. Thanks again!
JT what a way to start a video of with a high priority double stack Z train that was awesome but anyway another great video my friend and as always you stay safe out there and watch your back and we’ll see you on the next one
Glad you enjoyed it
Deshler is my favorite little town to watch the trains going through on the diamonds there on the railcam by the little park on UA-cam and i watched them tear down the old train station a while ago it is very beautiful there in Deshler and seeing the trains coming and going all different directions it is a very nice small town. as always it is really nice seeing the amazing live action pets dogs and cats and hearing the music slide show thanks again Jaw Tooth.🚂🚃🚃🇺🇲:).
After yesterdays meet with the Big Boy and having two freight trains go by it really made me appreciate what you do. Thanks Brian an as always awesome job!!👍👍
That is awesome! Thanks for watching!
Looked like that box car was saying The Knight Owls thanks for the show Jaw Tooth
Thanks for watching!
Awesome video! What a beautiful town! That 2nd spot with the open fields was a perfect spot. Some long intermodels. Good job Brian! Thanks for the video stay well roll on
You were a little over an hour away from me here at this town, Brian.
Awesome! There are a lot of railroad lines in your area
Great place for trains Have taken hundreds of pictures there 1st train I010 Hottest east bound on the railroad with UPS Live now in Tucson Arizona Hope to get back there one day
Neat to see a town that still has it's house fire siren.
Thanks for watching! I was also in Lucasville, Ohio filming when their house siren went off right when a train was coming
Excellent catches and old boxcars are my favorite
As a railfan I'm thankful that Deshler is an easy day trip and Griffith, Indiana is my back yard. Both junctions are hard to beat.
I want to visit Griffith. I have seen videos from there
@@JawTooth just got home from Tyler's Tender. A railroad themed restaurant. Ten minutes from Griffith. You'd have to check that out.
Great freight trains! Thanks so much Brian for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
@@JawTooth You're welcome!
Another great day of trains, Jaw Tooth.
Thanks for watching!
Awesome location Jawtooth! Deshler is one of my favorite VRF cams to watch! I miss the old train station, I've been curious about those crossing lights in that lot over there, they must just be stored there? I didn't see them in your video but I've seen them on the vrf cam, they may be gone now. Great catches! Thanks for sharing!👍
Thanks JT, really enjoyed this video. My fave is the tanker car!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Well, I heard that Dominique Rooster 🐔crowing, ( ok so it’s not a Dominique, but who cares)and I knew it was Mr. 🦷 time 🙀👏👏 .Good morning Mr. 🦷
Good morning and thanks for watching!
Love the shadow cast by the gate closure. Looks like a deranged duck.
Mr. Gibson, I had no idea what your last name was until I watched this video. Quite a few years ago before I started my channel, back in fall 2014, I had a rare train meet in my unincorporated community. Class III Lycoming Valley, owned by and an affiliate of the North Shore Railroad, met a westbound Class I Norfolk Southern empty coal train at the electronic switch for the Linden Wye heading back to Greene County, PA from Washingtonville in Northumberland County, PA. That Norfolk Southern train and its locomotives, which were most likely either ES44AC locomotives or EMD Dash 9 locomotives, was bookin’! The heck was the hurry, son? After Norfolk Southern passed the crossing and got off the circuit, the switch, lined up for Norfolk Southern by the dispatcher, automatically lined up for Lycoming Valley. The reason Lycoming Valley used Norfolk Southern’s line was because their line through Loyalsock Township and neighboring rival Montoursville was out of service due to their bridge being washed out by the flood waters that left me temporarily retired from go-kart racing and without a go-kart track to race on. Nowadays, coal trains through my community are rare but still happen. The Montour Power Plant, located in Washingtonville, PA, is still in use but sits idle.
You and misses tooth should go to Chesterton Indiana and spend the night there sometime there is constant action a whole bunch of Amtrak and the guy that runs the Rileys rail house is very nice and his cooking is very good his name is Rick and the building and all the other stuff they have there is nothing but old stuff saved by all the people in the town so all the buildings that are in the old style are one to two hundred years old and Rick the guy that runs the rail house is in charge of keeping all the old buildings in good shape. I was there just recently and I stayed in the new York Central boxcar and it was a wonderful experience and you can also stay upstairs in the upper birth and they have a balcony up there where you can watch the trains and get a great view easily without going far. I would love to see you go there sometime it is a little bit pricey but it is worth it. Great video jaw tooth always cool to see those old signals. Also dpu I see you!
growing up along the EK sub i saw many coal drags. a good ole rusty coal hopper is #1on my favorite cars. followed by box and covered hoppers.
Very cool!
The trains today weren't fast but they were long 😮 . Favorite freight car is the triple deck auto racks.
"THE KNIGHT OWLS". I had trouble understanding that at first until I had to rewind the video, and read it again!😆
Thanks for watching!
another great outstanding video by the legend himself jawtooth godbless and keep them coming my friend
Thanks, will do!
2nd, wow! Excellent catching all the trains, I like them, they're awesome, @JawTooth, Brian, thank you very much and have a nice day and night.
Sorry no
@@TrainsalloverHow are you doing today?
Thanks, you too!
@@JawTooth You're very welcome and thanks, Brian.
@@the-terrible63 good dude
I have an idea Mr Jawtooth you should be back here again do another railroad diamond they are so cool and great catch to film!
Deshler where the diamonds are the destination. Always fun to watch the longer General Freights make those big curves and of course some of those cars sound like they don't want to make the turn... With your being at the diamond the last General Freight gave the perfect show. Just listen to the variations of the wheels across the diamond from the lengthy intervals with the auto racks then the mix with other cars and then the short staccato with the short frac sand covered hoppers. Someday you'll need to make a journey to Gibson City IL with Mainline add Shortline action plus a grain elevator with a former Wisconsin & Southern GP9. It's other claim to fame many years ago was that it was the first McDonald's to be set up in a town of under 5,000 population. Another fine visit to small town USA
I looked at that area on Google Maps. I would like to visit Gibson City. Thanks for watching and commenting Paul!
Bud, another awesome freight trains 🚆 video 📹, absolutely great 👍 captures,it's very cool 😎 how you go to these small towns,is that what you call them in US? With small populations, why was the station 🚉 knocked down? These are very good 👍 viewing 👌 👍
CSX wanted it removed and nobody had the money to save it. About a year or so ago I was there shortly before they tore it down
I was impressed by the intermodal trains, long and almost fully loaded. I think that you can tell the state of the economy from the intermodal trains.
Excellent video JT!!!!
Thanks for watching!
@@JawTooth You're welcome!!!
Bird, bird, bird. Bird is the word.😂
Flat car with a tractor on it!
I'm sure the park has thier name on those old signals
Enjoyed this video JT Have you ever been to Fostoria Ohio about 30 miles east of Deshler Another great place for trains though not as many as a few years ago Thanks for your videos
Hey JT❗2 things: 1st, have seen your guitar in some of your vids. Is that You playing your theme music? 2nd, many of us train fans keep a 2nd window or monitor open to a "Virtual Railfan" channel. Happily, = YOU = give us the GROUND and area perspectives of many places (eg LaGrange, Deshler, Ashland etc) where those VRF cameras are mounted. Wish You would point out and WAVE when YOU show up in their range of views so they can "shout out" to You on their "Grab Bag" series. Be good to see You filming the ground features of LaGrange from 1st and Main‼ YOU give us relevant and personal detail of the areas that many videographers do not✅God Bless. stay safe and we ENJOY your colorful shirts‼👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Deshler is an amazing train spot that’s arguable even better than Fostroia’s Iron Triangle.
Wow a couple union pacific ge ac4400cws nice!!!
my favorite freight cars are tankers because sometimes they say what's in 'em- if you're close enough to read it.
Enjoyed the video Watch Deshler a lot on live videos
Thanks for watching! I will have a Part 2 also
😅super nice video Brian.😅tomorrow 22c here,summer returns🤣greetz:🍐Peer.😂
Great spot Deshler, Virtual Railfan have a camera there
Deshler is still on my bucket list to do some railranning For a small place, there is certainly a lot of activity with the diamonds and the connecting tracks. I watch on Virtual Railfan cameras for now.
Thanks for watching!
Nice as always! Best, Len.
Thanks for watching my videos!
virtual rail fan has a live feed from that location too
One time when I was there someone from VRF opened up the controls and showed them to me. Thats in a video of mine from a few years ago
😊😊I have told loads of people about the two mile long train😮😮
Merci beaucoup pour cette très belle vidéo ! ✨✨✨✨✨👍
❤ box cars as well tooth! Especially classic chessie system and Illinois central gulf. Icg are really rare! I would imagine the cars with no graffiti are pretty new,the vandals haven’t got to em yet
I guess my favorite cars are the coil cars, I use to haul coils when I drove a truck
Pretty cool!
I remember the noon test where I'm from. I watch the live stream of Deshler
Trains trains trains and more trains I love it
I got so many up there that I will have a Part 2
Good afternoon I enjoyed that video👍👍
Thanks London!
They had the diamond crossing replacement on VRF. It's been clacking ever since.
I had someone tell me when it was being done so I could film it but I was busy
My favorite freight car has always been the caboose. As a child I've enjoyed seeing them. But unfortunately nowadays they don't get used much anymore. So other than that the tank cars I think are cool and I also like boxcars
Question, heading to cincy to watch trains Saturday. Is the look out platform in Ky by the bridge have much action? I normally watch off of Michell Blvd.
Nice job catching those trains jaw tooth keep it up and be safe out there please while you’re railfanning please
Always love the out of sync bells.
I can't decide if I like box cars, centerbeams, or steel coil cars the best.
Ahhhh my old hometown.
That Pan Am boxcar is the best
Good analogy on the graffiti mystery JT. 🕵️
Lol, thanks for watching
I would say box cars are my favorite as well.
Deshler seems like and awsome place for some good trains. Wsnt there an old train station that was torn down recently?
You got to come up to Holly Michigan one time Mr. Tooth.
i was in deshler 2 weeks ago wish we couldve met :(
Thanks for watching! I will return
Delivered many times to Ron`s Super Valu just around the corner west of west crossing Little place to eat in store Not bad food
Great Video! The colorful art you see rolling is graffiti writers monikers.. It's a competition between kids and crews from all across the country who can "burn" or whose style is better and more colorful. the harder it is to read the better your clout is in the Fr8 Game. The Knight Owls.
Must have been recorded wile back before this resent cold snap not sure what age became rail fan but was first time in family car and dad had to stop at crossing for a train 😊
I just filmed this a few days ago. It got cold the next day. Thanks for watching!
Ya it turnd cold damn fast 👍 😊
