Istanbul, Turkey, is a city renowned for its rich history, vibrant culture, and strategic location between Europe and Asia. Here are some key aspects of Istanbul:
Historical Significance: Istanbul, formerly known as Byzantium and Constantinople, has a history dating back thousands of years. It served as the capital of the Byzantine Empire and later the Ottoman Empire, making it a center of political, religious, and cultural importance.
Architecture: The city is famous for its stunning architecture that blends various influences from Byzantine, Ottoman, and contemporary styles. Iconic landmarks include the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque (Sultan Ahmed Mosque), Topkapi Palace, and the Basilica Cistern.
Cultural Hub: Istanbul is a melting pot of cultures, religions, and traditions. It has a diverse population, offering a mix of cuisines, music, art, and festivals that reflect its multicultural heritage.
Bosphorus Strait: The city is uniquely situated on both sides of the Bosphorus Strait, which connects the Sea of Marmara to the Black Sea. This geographic feature not only enhances Istanbul's beauty but also plays a crucial role in its maritime and commercial activities.
Modern Metropolis: Istanbul is a bustling metropolis with a population exceeding 15 million people. It's a hub for commerce, finance, and tourism in Turkey, offering a dynamic urban environment with modern amenities alongside historic charm.
Tourist Attractions: Beyond its historical landmarks, Istanbul offers a vibrant street life, bazaars like the Grand Bazaar and Spice Bazaar, lively neighborhoods such as Beyoglu and Kadikoy, and panoramic views from places like Galata Tower.
Cuisine: Turkish cuisine is diverse and flavorful, and Istanbul is the perfect place to indulge in traditional dishes such as kebabs, mezes (appetizers), baklava, and Turkish delight. The city's food scene ranges from street vendors to upscale restaurants.
Art and Culture: Istanbul has a thriving arts scene with numerous galleries, museums, theaters, and music venues. The city hosts cultural events throughout the year, attracting both local and international artists and performers.
Overall, Istanbul's blend of ancient history, vibrant culture, stunning architecture, and modern developments make it a fascinating and dynamic city to explore.

The means of transport in Istanbul are great. You can get from place to place very quickly. I would just avoid taking a taxi. Already in the opening credits of the video I see the rip-off. 🙂
At the moment, Istanbul and the whole of Türkiye are quite expensive. They have adapted to the EU and will soon overtake them in terms of price.

Simit was the original bagel. Austrians learned about it during the siege of Vienna. It looked like the spur of a horseman: bogel. It went to the US via the Jewish immigrants from Austria.

    Üsküdar/Kuzguncuk/Beylerbeyi Palace
Emirgan Korusu(You can walk under there its a big garden and then you can reach the sea side and watch bosphorus).
In besiktas the best doner i had(Karadeniz Dönercisi) you can try it.
Kadıköy Moda side(nice cafes and sea view)
And you should be careful about the expensive prices in touristic areas. You can prefer more local places. Take caree
