Easy Creme Brulee Recipe

  • Everyone loves Creme Brulee. a mix of creamy custard with hard caramelized sugar.
    This recipe not only tastes amazing and looks impressive, but is so easy to make yourself.
    You probably have all the ingredients already, so why not make it tonight?
    Ingredients:
    6 egg yolks
    4 tablespoons sugar + 2-3 tbsp for topping the custard
    1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
    2 1/2 cups heavy cream
    Method:
    Preheat oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C).
    Beat the egg yolks, 4 tablespoons of sugar and the vanilla in a mixing bowl until thick and creamy.
    Heat the cream over medium heat until it's just about to boil.
    Pour a bit of the heated cream into the egg yolk mixture and incorporate, then add the rest, beating until combined.
    Pour cream mixture into the top pan of a double boiler. Stirring over the lightly bubbling water until mixture lightly coats the back of a spoon, about 3 minutes.
    Remove mixture from heat immediately and pour into 6 ramekins.
    Bake in preheated oven for 20-30 minutes, or until the mixture is that of a jello consistency when lightly tapped.
    Remove from oven and cool to room temperature. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight.
    Sift sugar over the custards, and place dish under broiler until sugar melts, about 2 minutes, or use a hand torch to melt the sugar.
