"Tuned" PRL Turbo Civic SI - Great Power on Stock Motor!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 8 жов 2020
- On this episode we dive into a 2006 Honda Civic SI with a Stage 2 Bolt on PRL Motorsports Kit. This thing with a few supporting parts and a stock motor lays down some great power. On this episode we have to change out the fuel pump for a larger one and tackle a few drivability issues since the coupler blew previously. Not his fault and not our fault, these things just happen sometimes. Since this is a stock motor car we are not going to push it all the way but this thing is for sure going to get some kills. Thank you so much much for watching and if your new to the channel be sure to subscribe we have lots of great content coming your way. @TrackstarMediaworks

Excellent coverage of the tuning process! Not many people show you this kind of in depth look at it from this perspective.
Jon's a cool dude (the owner of the fa5). We ended up going to Mexico 🇲🇽 after the tune
I love that body style of SI
Absolutely love your Honda focused videos
keep doing these videos bro they're so informational
Keep up the Tuning Videos! 👌
Ayeee evan shanks tuner great vid!
Great Video !
Just subscribed. That tuner is awesome for explaining when making adjustments why. That’s great content man.
Thanks so much for the support!!!
Red 4 door 8th Gen on rpf1 is my goals. This car is amazing
great work!!!
Pushing those stock internals!
Juicy!!!
Those are like still the go to wheels..I swear❤
Great vid! I'm putting a cammed K20Z3 turbo in my 1995 Saturn SL2, should be a rocketship with that 2300 LB polymer body and Einkei RPF1 15X7's. It's got a Seibon carbon hood also!
I agree this is a great video for people like me interested in turbo charging fg2/fa5. Also gives a much better idea of the amount of work to be done even after turbo install. Tuning is something I've always wanted to learn
Thank you so much for the support!
@@TrackstarMediaworks and thank you for the awesome content!
Love the vid, super informative
Thank you so much for the support
@@TrackstarMediaworks np! Literally about to do the same thing here in a week or two with my hatch lol. Excited to see 600 plus
Great video
Thank u 🙏
its still going to be 11.6 on 1/4
from my pov 340whp and more will be ~11sec 1/4mile
That’s badass
Thanks bro!!
@@TrackstarMediaworks keeps doing what your doing brudda
Seems like the kinda guys I would take my cars to. I haven't favor any local tuners yet. Didn't like my local tuner when they build my STi block. Told me it'll take 2 weeks. Got my car 1.5 months later bc they use some of my parts to fix their damn Evo. Stupid ass performance shop - RS Motors.
So sickk!! Love it, I also have a 8th gen MUGEN Si with the full PRL motorsports kit with the precision 58/62 stock bottom end k20z3 w a few bolt ons and type s oil pump thing ripps! And im only on 12psi lol..Clean car dude 👍🏼👍🏼 keep up the good work shes a rippa
Thank you so much for the support brother!!! 🙏🙏🙏
what did u do to the head? im looking to boost my si that i just got
@@AidanRoldan mines running a stock head no issues all i did to my engine was type s oil pump and arp headstuds
@@JesseK410 did u change the headgasket when doing the studs?
@@AidanRoldan absolutely I wouldn’t recommend not changing the head gasket, you should always when you untorque any of head bolts. People that just do one at a time to change them out are crazy lol..
Always use the OEM honda one too!
the one dislike is clearly from the wierdos who get gapped by hondas
It’s either a 2007 or 2008. No sedan in 2006.
now I need a turbo
Do it!
I’m getting ready to fully build my fg2 and throw a PRL turbo kit on. I’d like to get 650-750. I went kraftwerks first but deciding to go turbo and with a fully built trans.
hows that going bro? just finished mine but i’m settling on high 4s
our cars would never put down more then 500 on a street tire
@@TheVincster I haven’t went that route yet. I am still in process of going turbo though. Just not prl. Went with a sidewinder manifold. Now getting the block built and going with some DC cams. Super tech valve spring kit. And like I said aiming for 6-7.
@@TheVincster completely not true I have 489 and I completely hook in 3rd. I have r888r, but I hook.
how long did you stick with kw? im getting one after summer passes by
Leeeeegggggoooooooooooo
*Looks at dyno chart with 19PSI*
Tuner: "i think we may be able to squeeze a little bit more power outta her"
Stock Engine and Trans: "Aight imma head out bro it was nice knowing you"
Thank god the owner stopped them from upping the PSI lmao
Omg this is beautiful. Why are all the tuners in Texas...in California you'll have better luck finding a leprechaun. 😖😭
Damm stock motor 500+hp defently will bring mine in all the way from California
Bet you won’t 😎
Bet I will 9 months later just need a price 💰 to get it together
What did you to for the traction problems?
Should i buy the 8gen or 9gen si to do a turbo build as a weekend car
where can i find basic kit for up to 400?
Dammm tune my car for me
Does anyone have the link for that dual gauge pod setup?
Makes me want to upgrade injectors and go e85 with more sause. Hit 450whp at 10psi.
Same, that's really what I have left before building the k20. E85, but I don't have everything for the setup yet, AND the closest gas station with it is 30 away.
Set up plz!?
Do y’all install turbo kits as well?
is it a k20z3 engine?
Bought my fa5 at 112k miles and only put 10k of my own miles on it and the tranny gave out… shit is a joke now I gotta rebuild this shit. Apparently the mf used to track it and never told me about it
Maybe I should sell my 2019 si for an 8th gen… holy wow those numbers are impressive for a stock block
From someone who has had two 10th gens 2nd one with a built motor big turbo and fuel system I will tell you I am proud owner of a 8th gen now k is definitely the way
the best civic si is the 9th gen, you think 550whp is insane, try 650whp on a stock k24z7
@@josiahbutler2254 nah horsepower isn’t everything. It’s not the best si. It’s one of the better daily’s for sure because of its low end torque but yeah.
@@ValkenDnB a k24z7 with a z3 head or an a2 head would be insane!
fyi everyone all the k20s can handle over 550whp on a stock block, you wont start really having issues till u get past 600whp
2:55 how did u know it was lean
what do you mean by "stock?". Nice build!
@@matsmith5937 i mean from factory fa5s have notoriously strong bottom ends, like forged internal
@@matsmith5937 Arp head stud's would be a must and stiffer valve springs to run 20+ psi .
Great looking car, what wheels are those?
Enkei RPF-1
did this car have a fuel return setup or was it returnless ? impressive also what size injectors
fuel return and ID 1050cc
Mind me asking what turbo was used on this car? I’m picking up a PRL kit for 2700$ this weekend.
Did the car have an RSX type oil pump?
I’d like to achieve the same power this car did.
I thought they said somewhere near the beginning of the video the type it was? Thought I heard PRL as well, could be mistaken. $2,700 is the cost new I’m assuming? About how much would it cost to get it installed, $1,500? Then what $300 more for a custom tune like this?
Its a GTX3071R Gen 2
Type s Oil pump
Is that the stock transmission? Because l was told that the transmission can't handle anything over 400 flat.
it can but 400 is when you want to build it because thats when it starts to destroy itself. itll handle it for a minute tho
Due they sale turbo kit for my 9th gen civic si looking for a place i could just drop uff car with a bugget set and pick up after done
Not sure! Check the prl website!
K tuner?
Can you please tell me what the Tire Size and Make and Rim Size for the front and back please!!🙏🏼
Not sure what the rim and tire setup was. Just worried about the tuning 😃
@@TrackstarMediaworks thank you sir! I thought it was your car!
why build your upper body when you are walking on stilts?
How can I get in contact with you for tuning?!
Shoot us a email with your info! Trackstarmedia00@gmail.com or on Facebook at Trackstar Motorworks!!
Only Honda lol best motor in the world. My boy had a fully built 2.0 b series crack block still was racing just had to keep a eye on the temp, I ran my car one time over heating for a month still kept running shit is crazy engineering. My cuz bought his first car we ran it all night in the morning it was blowing white smoke we was like what it had no oil no water but it was still running gave that bitch tune up and kept it moving.😂
So how long can a stock, unopened K20 last at 500wheel and 400wtq?
As long as you want , just don’t race everyone you come across on the highway and you should be solid 😂
Do you tune with ktuner?
Yes we can shoot us an email! Trackstarmedia00@gmail.com Give us your build specifications. Please.
Any changes to the cylinder head ??
No changes to the cylinder head sir!!
Waaahhhhhtt making 500 thats awesome !!!
What texas tuner did u go to?
We are the tuner.... Trackstar Motoworks
How long will the stock engine hold this power? When would you recommend building the engine?
This car is still ripping! It depends on several factors! Good parts, good install, solid maintenance, and a solid safe tune and it will last with proper care!
Nice man, thanks for the reply! I’m in the market for a new car and I was considering a fiesta st but for around the same price, I could prob buy one of these and turbo it sooo idk😂
Sounds mean
How much do the owner pay you?
Idk if y’all remember this but how many miles, I got an FA5 too I want to know if it’s worth it?
Hey there thanks for the support . I believe this car had about 50,000 on the odometer hard to remember though
@@TrackstarMediaworks
Oh wow I got an 2011 with 78000 miles. I been pondering about it.but Thank you anyways 👍
@@lesu_san2663 it’s a Honda you’ll probably be fine

E85
What size injectors.
ID 1050cc
What turbo was used on this?
GTX 3071r .62ar
Where are you guys located ?
Fort Worth Texas
What clutch?
Not sure the exact clutch was in it when we tuned it. We have so many cars come through the shop lol. Definitely upgraded 💪
With that much psi on a stock block wouldn’t it be less reliable because of that stress you’re putting on the engine because I have an 8th gen si as well and want to boost it but idk if I want to build a block or just go straight to buying a turbo kit
I would like to hear the expert opinion on this as well. I mean obviously there’s a lot more stress on the motor, just not sure how bad of an idea it would be to keep everything stock with all that boost.
@@rick15666 right because I know no matter what when you boost an engine there’s always going to be more stress but I would love to boost my stock block around 10psi and just daily it for a couple of years without having to buy new pistons and rods and crank
The k20z3 has a strong open block design theyve been known to make 900hp even with stock intake manifold and cams.
@@thatbluefa5913 well I learn something new everyday
@@galaxylion5869 haha. I wouldnt recommend pushing a stock block that high though but its been done. The transmission is the main problem. Ive blown up my oem one and also my built one with gear-x gears and such. Stock block with arp headstuds is at 150k and still pushing ~460hp
Wheel and tire specs?
17x9 +35 255/40 squared set up
