Great review! I purchased this pack for EDC and really love it. I tucked the plate pocket flap into the back pocket and added an A19 hi viz organizer to the loop field and threaded a Goruck wire Dopp kit through the D ring on the interior and now Ive got more organization than I need. I placed my laptop and tablet into the plate pockets and they are better protected than the laptop compartment on the GR1. The hi viz orange lining plus the 3 extra grab handles give you something you can't order in a GR1 and just complement the EDC experience. the straps coupled with the 210 back make this thing easy to carry. Even with my EDC items there is room for enough for a packing cube that will get me through the weekend. Can see this taking sales away from the GR1.
100% agree. The Rucker makes an excellent EDC bag. I much prefer having my laptop in the main compartment rather than being on the back panel like the GR1. The GR1 is the big name item for GORUCK which everybody knows. Hopefully content like this will help to show how the Rucker bags are just as good if not better. I'm think of trying the same this year with the Long Range 33ltr
Thanks for the video. This is exactly what I’ve been wanting to know. I’m planning on buying a GoRuck bag and was really torn between the Rucker 4.0 and GR1 because I want something that can do both. I love the stability of the Rucker for working out, but was worried about being able to flex that into some casual EDC use.

Great idea, very inspiring. However, using rucker4.0 as an EDC in public or turning on the velcro in the office makes a terrible sound, which is embarrassing. I think it is a good way to look for rucker3.0 or 33L LONG RANGE RUKER if possible.thanks
That's a great point. The velcro is very loud. I think it's become a funny thing with my colleagues now. Have you ever seen the meme with the fella who was shown an SAS technique on ripping velcro so it doesn't make a noise? Very funny if you can find it
I did not go with the 4 because I don’t like the loss of the front pocket, and I live near the beach, so didn’t want to fight the sand and velcro. Wasn’t enough good changes for me to upgrade from the 3. I have about a dozen of their GORUCK packs though, and absolutely love every single one of them! I do prefer my GR1 for my EDC, or a 5.11 sling. Great video! Thank you!
I have to admit I was a wee bit gutted when the front panel pocket was removed however I remembered I used it sparingly. GORUCK really have struck gold with their packs. I've had a few people mention the 5.11 MOAB Slings. Is this what you use? I see they've released a few newer ones recently. I'll have to pick on up. Thanks for watching fella

Really enjoyed this review, thank you! Has your opinion changed at all in the 6months since this video was released? I saw you mention the 33L long range might have been the sweet spot. I myself am 1 click away from ordering, but I am torn between the 25L or the 33L or even 39L variants for a 6'3" with 22" torso. Hi Austin. You're more than welcome buddy. That is the Helikon Tex Woodsman Anorak. Amazing outdoors layer. I made some content on it a few years back 👍
I could talk about packs until the cows come home Phillip. Making this sort of content is really enjoyable for me. I was joking with my wife last night about winning big on the lottery. Mrs Moorlander said she'd get bored and not know what to do with her time... I know exactly what I'd do with my time 😆 There no end to all the packs and adventures out there. I think I'd need to hire a film drew though
Hi, yes, that's roughly the same size as my laptop. Unless it's 6cm think it should fit right in. Definitely recommend taking the foam block out of the bottom. It's suspended from the bottom of the bag so your laptop is safe 👍 if you do get one, I'd love to hear your thoughts
Great to see tactical teddy bear is out on manoeuvres again 👍. I don’t like to say this, but I’m disappointed in you King Moorlander. A lack of patience for the multicam tropic? You’ve let yourself down, your family down and the community down… 🤣Seriously tho MC version looks a winner. Thorough review as always. Moorlander point… 🤔 could catch on 😂😂
Oooooh man. That cuts straight to the bone. I was trying to hold it in during this content and keep a happy face. I sacrifices three additional sheep and four extra virgins to the Old Moorlands Gods this week as penance... ps. I have some more MC Tropic content coming. The Gods shined a favourable light on me for my bountiful sacrifices 😆
Oh... well in that case, you can rest assure Tom you can definitely get your groceries in there... and a few beers to keep you hydrated 😆 Stay well fella
It was engineered to be overbuilt for the specific reason of being a Rucking-Pack first, and second whatever you choose to use it for is only relevant to your personal use or need.
EDC is everyday carry. The things that we carry with us everyday rather than things that might be specifically targeted to a singular job. Strictly speaking the GR1 is GORUCK's EDC bag, however, the Rucker also makes a great everyday carry bag too 🤙 hope that helps
Hi Jefe, I can see your point there. I think strictly speaking that frame was definitely there for real weight carrying in a rucksack or bergen. I think it's definitely something that's evolved over the last 20 years or so where both types of pack are used. "Training ruck" is definitely the best term especially as these are still used for recreational use... well, pretty tough, push yourself to the limits, recreational use 😆 Thanks for watching
I'll see if I can slip in a Kamal Harris "it's time to make time so that we have time to make time. In that I mean, making time to make time is something we need to put aside time for so that we can have the correct time to make time as time is important, whether it's made or not" kind of statement 😆🤘
The mid terms are going to be impossible for the Dems to put a positive spin on. Hopefully 2024 will help to get your great nation back on track. Drive down inflation, petrol prices, get the Southern boarder and supply chain fixed, and get things rolling again. Sending support from a friend across the Pond 🤜🤛
Hi Tawaitai, I hope you're well. You may have the wrong end of the stick there my friend. I'm certainly not complaining. I love the fact that these are over engineered. Primarily this is a rucking back through and through. I've tried to test it outside of it's main function and see if it will work as a day to day EDC pack... and it's perfect for both. It's definitely overkill for an EDC pack however, if you're after a bomber pack that's truly got that heirloom appeal, this is the one for you. I hope that makes sense and apologies if this wasn't clear. Hope you're having an awesome week
Bill, I fell in love with it the moment I spotted it too. Weirdly, the mulitcam tropic is better suited to the Moorlands than the normal MC. Fro now on, I want everything in tropic :D
Wait? What? I was today years old when I learned this. Is ruck German for back? Or is ruck the verb that describes the action of walking with weights?... My third most watch geographic location after the US and the UK is Germany... and I'm only hearing this now 😆 Thanks for the heads up DoC 🤘

Ron from Indiana, Great video take care.
Thank you Sir. I hope you're well and had a cracking weekend. It's a very British thing to say, however I hope the weather is being good to you so you can get out the house. All my best Ron
zipper center pocket outside, zippers instead of velcro all the way and side bottle pockets - and I would get it now!
You might want to check out the GR1 Ivica. That has the outside pocket and its fully zipped. Sounds like your bag 😂
@@MoorlanderEDC thanks! 😃👊🏻💯
What's that jacket? Thanks for the content!
Hi Austin. You're more than welcome buddy. That is the Helikon Tex Woodsman Anorak. Amazing outdoors layer. I made some content on it a few years back 👍
What jackets are you wearing thanks
Hi, thanks for watching. That's the Helikon Tex Woodsman Anorak. I've made a few pieces of content on this top. Highly recommended 👌
Interesting review, I prefer lots of other bags shown on these channel :)
Hi Raph. I hope you're well my friend. It's definitely not a bag for everyone. However those hard core Ruckers definitely love this pack
Love to see more and more content helps a lot when you like I looking for a nice edc pack 🔥
Will the plate carrier pocket fit a 38cm x 25cm laptop? Thank you
Hi, yes, that's roughly the same size as my laptop.
Forget weights. I want one to carry groceries home from the store.
Oh... well in that case, you can rest assure Tom you can definitely get your groceries in there... and a few beers to keep you hydrated 😆 Stay well fella
So looks plenty big enough to pack food for a day hiking?
Hi Adrian. Yes definitely buddy. The rucking sleeve takes up a bit more room in there compared to the GR1, however definitely plenty of room
It was engineered to be overbuilt for the specific reason of being a Rucking-Pack first, and second whatever you choose to use it for is only relevant to your personal use or need.
Sorry buddy I missed this one. I think I said similar in another comment. All my best
what is EDC
EDC is everyday carry. The things that we carry with us everyday rather than things that might be specifically targeted to a singular job. Strictly speaking the GR1 is GORUCK's EDC bag, however, the Rucker also makes a great everyday carry bag too 🤙 hope that helps
I consider these products “training rucks.” A real ruck has a frame, and imo a preferably detachable pack.
@@MoorlanderEDC either way, it’s a cool training ruck and looks like it would make a decent “go bag.”
👍
“Joe Biden whispery thing…” 😂💀
I'll see if I can slip in a Kamal Harris "it's time to make time so that we have time to make time. In that I mean, making time to make time is something we need to put aside time for so that we can have the correct time to make time as time is important, whether it's made or not" kind of statement 😆🤘
@@MoorlanderEDC 😂. I’m so ashamed of my country’s “voters.” 😮💨
@@MoorlanderEDC I’m definitely hoping so! We could definitely use the support! Thanks!
Why wouldn’t it??? It’s built stronger than any pack in existence, Duh.
Nah then, ey up me duck. I'm wondering, how many takes did this 'rucking' video take? 😉
Way too many fella. Other than the F bomb, I kept saying 'booking' as well. Bloody broken brain of mine 😊🤘
How did I not know about multicam tropic?
Bill, I fell in love with it the moment I spotted it too. Weirdly, the mulitcam tropic is better suited to the Moorlands than the normal MC. Fro now on, I want everything in tropic :D
Rucksack is just backpack in German. ;)
Wait? What? I was today years old when I learned this. Is ruck German for back? Or is ruck the verb that describes the action of walking with weights?... My third most watch geographic location after the US and the UK is Germany... and I'm only hearing this now 😆 Thanks for the heads up DoC 🤘
Buying Goruck is an IQ test.
I think that's how they make sure they have the right customer 😆 We didn't GCSE's here so I'm not sure how that would convert to an SAT score
@@MoorlanderEDC WAIS has better granularity. Anyway, at least with TAD or MR you get something other than an overpriced book bag. We use plate carriers now. The upside? You can hold a lot of Kool-Aid in there.
MR is a brand I really want to try and the TAD Fastpack EDC is my grail bag. I've lusted over that bag ever since I clapped eyes on it. I keep seeing the special editions ones they drop every now and again. I'd love the EDC in XPac... and a bank account with enough cash in there to get one too 😅 We don't have Koolaid over here... is it nice?
Maybe I should do a Moorlander tries international food page
@@MoorlanderEDC I have a EDC and the Litespeed as well. Both are great and overbuilt. With a Control Panel added it's (EDC) nearly perfect, but heavy.
Joe Biden's pretty great.
