Kim's career just never recovered after she was released from prison. Her relationship with Atlantic records had went bad and I believe she had to pay out the remaining of her contract. During those first few years out she couldn't officially release music, which led to her doing mixtapes. After that she kept promising new music but kept getting setbacks. She separated from her long-time manager Hillary Weston and got a new team. She also was aligning with unknown artists (FBI) that never amounted to anything. She had plenty of offers from other label's, but apparently they weren't great contracts that someone of her caliber would sign, and that's understandable. With so many setbacks and hurdles, Nicki Minaj came along as the new it girl with a good label and team to steamroll her way to the top. Kim started changing her sound to auto tune and more singing than what worked for her. Her 9 album was okay but it really didn't hit hard as her previous albums. As of today she still does shows and make appearances. Her legacy in hip hop has been cemented. 💯

Honestly this! Kim just did bad business, her momentum ended when she left Atlantic and a record label in general! An artist like herself needs a major machine backing her up and pushing her image, however ever since she went on doing mixtapes and surrounding herself with yes men.. Her sound and image tarnished and became mediocre.. Broken promises about a book, documentary, part 2 to her fifth album, more appearances.

I like the current Kim. She has perfected her lyricism and looks to be in a happy place in life. People say that she has surgeries, but I think it's just the nose. Kim just got lighter due to being inside the house over the years. I hope she releases a new project this year. A few songs with Foxy, Eve, Nicki, and 50 would shake up the industry.

Kim looked like a Barbie doll back in the 90’s and early 2000’s, but she wasn’t satisfied. A little nip/tuck here and there was okay, but she took it too far. Momma got off the surgery table looking like a thundercat.
