By extension, the reason why people don’t like “nice” rappers is because they’ve been sold a false narrative about who black men are/“how” they’re supposed to exist.

Because rap is toxic. It’s a genre that has been tarnished to keep black people in a crab bucket mentality while promoting consumerism. If rap is the genre by which most black people feel represented and that genre do not promote self love, healthy growth and camaraderie, how can it be called anything else BUT toxic.
