Battlefield 1 - The BAR M1918A2 BFV Pre-order weapon - PC (2021)

- This is a Low Weight variant of the BAR M1918, which means iron sights, a bipod, and reaching minimum spread much quicker. Coupled with the bipod, this thing is a goddamn laser. The slow rate of fire mode is - unfortunately - useless. It fires as slowly as the Chauchat but - unlike my beloved wife - it maintains the BAR's (relatively) low damage per bullet. The 'improved' handling isn't worth the lower DPS tradeoff, plus the gun is easy enough to control when firing at full tilt.
It is annoying that this - along with the other BFV pre-order weapons - was never made available for everyone after BFV's release. If they were just reskins of existing weapons - like the M1911A1 - then it wouldn't be so bad. But locking statistically-different variants behind a pre-order and then not having special assignments so that everyone can unlock the guns later on is poor practice. Same with never releasing the C96 Export and Howdah Sweeper pistols.

Occasionally I do some commentary, but for the most part I like just having the weapons and the gameplay speak for themselves. Especially when, in BF1, we've got all these prototypes or rare weapons that we barely see in other bits of media! Thanks for sticking around.
I know some might think pre-ordering BF5 is a big mistake but honestly, BF5 was fun while it lasted, and the pre-order bonuses for BF1 are actually kind of worth it in my opinion, my favorite being this and the Fedorov-Degtyaryev
Those two are definitely the stronger of the preorder bonus weapons, though I do have a soft spot for the M1919 once I got the recoil pattern down! I had some enjoyment with BFV, though I only joined it later in its lifespan. It had potential but was mired in poor management decisions and an anaemic content drip. And I still feel these pre-order weapons should've been unlockable through assignments after a certain amount of time passed following BFV's release, but that's just me!

I get the impression that most BF 'content creators' just skimmed over the BFV Pre-order weapons, particularly on PC, in preparation for BFV's release.

See if only the storm and trench variants had a bipod the weapon would be perfect but to make that variant exclusive to a pre order really sucks because this version is good

I pre-ordered and had this gun. But since I reinstalled the game after a long time it doesnt appear in my inventory anymore. I have checked that all the game DLCs have also been reinstalled. Any ideas? On Xbox btw.
No clue I'm afraid! I don't know if there's a separate pre-order DLC pack for BF1, or if it's something to do with a DLC for BFV(?)

There might be some Enlister keys still lurking around on the web, but if you do pursue that path you do so at your own risk - you might have to frequent some shady sites so exercise care!
