These are great answers. But I will say as someone who does interviews I do really like to hear about the individual when I ask “tell me about yourself?” It gives me a lot of insights as to who they are as an individual.

My complicated answer to the question of: Please provide details of the last time you worked as part of a successful team? The problem with the example answer, is that I used to work for various retail companies, eg, Warner Village Cinema, Dorothy Perkins, River Island, McDonald's and Burger King. None of which I can use or could be used for your example answer? So I am stuck, as its been a while since I have worked in retail. But I absolutely really, really enjoy the retail industry and would really, really like to employed by Aldi, and get back into the retail industry as I love helping customers by providing great customer services. You can be honest, but if you want this job, say this is the job that stood out to you most and you feel is a perfect match for your prior experience and skills. You can then demonstrate how your skills and qualities match the job description :)

Today, one of my 8 interviewers asked me what was the biggest mistake I've ever made in my previous role. I gave a joking exasperated "oof". Several chuckled, and the HR Manager seconded my "oof" with a smile. This was difficult and unexpected, but the horrible truth was my answer. Oof.

You can use "collaborative" as it shows you will work with others to overcome challenges and achieve goals. It also means you are aware you're apart of a team and therefore must be accountable on an individual level for the benefit of the team (e.g. taking ownership of mistakes and your own professional development).

But Richard, they always ask that you give a situation when you handled conflict or when you made a mistake, not how you would handle it. I still don't have an answer to that for an interview next week.

I got the job due in a huge part to these tutorials! Best reaction to my qq was the one from me at the end when they asked if I had any qq's. I asked "after my initial 8 weeks of training, what are your expectations for me in this position in the first 30 days?" The project manager said it was a Great qq & then told me more specifics of me in the role. So amazing! At the very end, I was asked if I had any last qq's...so, I boldly asked is they could hire me on the spot. I was shocked at myself, but it felt right, because of your tutorials! I was contacted within 2 hrs with the job offer! I'm so grateful to you!

Hi Richard, i need your insight on this as i just finished my interview on Wednesday and 2days later HR manager has updated me that they are keen to take my application into next step, will update me by end of next week for next step. What do I need to do about this as I'm still looking for job. Thanks in advance
You can be honest, but if you want this job, say this is the job that stood out to you most and you feel is a perfect match for your prior experience and skills. You can then demonstrate how your skills and qualities match the job description :)

Today, one of my 8 interviewers asked me what was the biggest mistake I've ever made in my previous role. I gave a joking exasperated "oof". Several chuckled, and the HR Manager seconded my "oof" with a smile. This was difficult and unexpected, but the horrible truth was my answer. Oof.

You can use "collaborative" as it shows you will work with others to overcome challenges and achieve goals. It also means you are aware you're apart of a team and therefore must be accountable on an individual level for the benefit of the team (e.g. taking ownership of mistakes and your own professional development).

But Richard, they always ask that you give a situation when you handled conflict or when you made a mistake, not how you would handle it. I still don't have an answer to that for an interview next week.

I got the job due in a huge part to these tutorials! Best reaction to my qq was the one from me at the end when they asked if I had any qq's. I asked "after my initial 8 weeks of training, what are your expectations for me in this position in the first 30 days?" The project manager said it was a Great qq & then told me more specifics of me in the role. So amazing!
At the very end, I was asked if I had any last qq's...so, I boldly asked is they could hire me on the spot. I was shocked at myself, but it felt right, because of your tutorials! I was contacted within 2 hrs with the job offer! I'm so grateful to you!
