Great song. And the South to me is the promised land just as he says. I been all over the country, and I've seen some beautiful places but none more beautiful than the South. The deepest blue skies and air so fresh. The Blue Ridge Mountains are stunning, it's a place everyone should see in their life time. I remember being on I-75 north in Tennessee. The road going through the mountains alone is incredible. Especially how the road coming down the mountain leads into a city.
Ever drive to the end of highway 2 in Fannin county Georgia? The chattahoochee forest and wilderness area...it goes to Gilmer county,Murray county,Polk county Tennessee...its a huge area and a dirt road(s) that take 5 hours to drive..not even any homes out there...It's as God made it and a huge area,it effects the weather at my house...especially in the summer...
Beautiful country. So much different than north Alabama. I did a shutdown on an old cotton mill in Habershan county in the mid 90s. Built on solid rock, right on the river. It was in the STICKS.
I grew up less than 1/2 mile from the Chattahoochee that was 75 miles northeast of Atlanta. It's a much faster river when it is coming out of the mountains than it is near Atlanta.
WKLS 105.9 (rock 105.9) plays them all the time and lots of other great stuff! You can listen online! (@Hurricane Shane plays the best songs!) www.rock1059.com/on-air
Rod Powers I was just in Valdosta and hitched a ride to Tallahassee. Went along the Ashlee highway via 221 (I think). Went through Cheatham and had such a beautiful ride in the back of a pickup truck. So much Spanish moss and oak trees.
It's one of the frustrating things about the internet. Anyone can post anything they want. Online guitar tabs are even worse. 😐 There's a version of Jammin' Me by Tom Petty here on YT that actually has "Bring back your biscuit ball" as part of the lyrics. 😶 🇺🇸
Sly Smilin Cat SC is my home. Right here in Charleston. Don’t ever wanna leave and I want my ashes spread in the Beaufort national cemetery with my parents.
I thought it was, "once an injun, once removed". A reference to the Cherokee blood of one of his parents. I could be wrong though. I can't find the lyrics anywhere.

.
Thank you for translating that last bit. I've been trying to figure it out for ages!! Now when I cover it, I can do it some justice!!
If you perform this song using what is written here, you'll be a laughing stock. The lyrics are botched up all throughout the video.

Wow great song!
There are numerous errors in these lyrics. Did you use text to talk or some software of the sort?

Beaufort That is 🐯🌴🌙
Correct, it also runs into the eastern side of Alabama and it's called Lake Harding. We often go fishing there.
That's right. I live in Columbus, and work in Phenix City.
They used to play at Jacksonville State all the time.....
Love me some Pink Floyd Led Zeppelin Ted Nugent ZZ Top Aerosmith and such but this is my favorite favorite favorite band for sure
Ross and Steve, the Two Broke Kings!
It's not "once I met you," it's "once an engine," meaning it was once a source of life and vitality.
I thought it was, "once an injun, once removed". A reference to the Cherokee blood of one of his parents. I could be wrong though. I can't find the lyrics anywhere.
@@gymfan112 Once imagined. Once removed.
Once on edge and once-removed.
The final lyrics are confusing and hard to understand. Have seen several translations with different wordings.
That’s hilarious
Something weird happens at 1:90. It's too fast...
3 this
Was there a band named Salty Dog that wrote this
ua-cam.com/video/EH3hFMcm9Qk/v-deo.html "Once I met you" is actually "Once on edge".
I don't understand one sentence ;D Does these lyrics even make any sense or is it like "loser" from Beck, where the lyrics just have no sense at all?
1 month later it has 2.3k still horrible :( 1k in on month still okay.
Less than a minute in & the lyrics are already incorrect.
