I think Nomura having a team of writers to assist him on writing Kh4 is a good idea. The more people involved the more creative it gets because everyone can bounce ideas off each other
nomura always had people aiding him with writing kh games, he only solo wrote kh days and all its dialogue, AND it SHOWS

We know final fantasy characters are coming back in KHIV but I want them to be more included into the story. Like imagine seeing Barret leading the rebellion in the battle of Endor.
That’s not true. Nomura said in an open interview that he has no plans on bringing final fantasy characters back into the kingdom hearts games.
@@kyodreamwalker5378not entirely. He said he originally included FF characters to help fill the roster but he didn’t think he needed FF characters as more KH original characters were introduced. He didn’t think players would miss the FF characters. It sounded like he might add them back in for KH4 but it’s unclear.

It was a scraped idea with Noctis being one of the main characters associated with it and who showed up in KH4? Yahzarah based off our boy Noctis
I really like the idea for the FNC personally so if that does happen, I’d be happy although I know it’s not a popular opinion

Uh... The comments about Oka are a bit incorrect. He was the main writer for other stuff like BBS, DDD, and KH3. Nomura just doesn't have time to write entire games by himself, especially when he was working on Remake at the time. He's not a new writer.
As for Akiko. Her work on 15 is really interesting, because she wrote the initial 2015 version of the game. The entire game got a rewrite in 2016, with alot of stuff she wrote being left out of the final game, but still being in games files, that people translated.

In terms of FFXV thats really interesting!! Probably means we'll get a lot more Early XV / Versus XIII inspiration in the game.

Hopefully I was transparent to some about their works though, since I did mention he worked on Past KH Games. Sorry about the confusion on my End!

Having new fresh eyes on a series is never a bad idea the new writers can see things the current ones have'nt considered before or have their own new ideas that can blend well with a long running series. In this case while I have no problems with Nomura as a writer and can roll with the way he tells stories very well. Having more than one eye on the story can only be a good thing as they can help refine his ideas while adding their own.
I'm not worried at all. Square has been killing it since 2020 with Remake, XVI, Rebirth, and the XIV expansions, as well as with the Remind DLC.
I liked the jumbled up story of kh tbh or the cheesiness of it,I just want it to get a tad bit darker with the new installment, kh3 was much darker than the previous installments and I do not want it to lose its childish charm aswell. Only reason I want it more adjult is I wan Star wars to come to kingdom hearts and I want anakin's story to be retold once more in the third movie. don't kill the younglings OK but make it so that sora can't save him...
I so happy Nomura is getting skilled writers to help out in KHIV. I still hope new Final Fantasy characters join in and I love to see FullMetal Alchemist come into the series as well

For any worry about KH3's story, Re:Mind certainly Reminded us what a KH story is. I think the conclusion of any saga might feel a bit less exciting/mysterious and KH3 will have more fond memories after KH4 since I think the transition and setup was quite excellent.

We need the writers for the X saga to join the main writers for the mainline series, what they've contributed KH's lore with unchained X is nothing short of phenomenal some of the best writing in the series since nojima was part of the team.

Let's hope Kingdom hearts 4 will Nintendo world's even Nintendo cameos. Also I wanna see kingdom hearts 4 on Nintendo switch 2 with sora amiibo and on steam PC with mods. Also kingdom hearts 4 needs the star wars world and the marvel avengers world to and even more final fantasy characters too.

I hope the story is taken a bit more serious this time. I know it’s Disney and all, but there’s a crazy amount of lore and potential to just… not address most of it until endgame. A lot of KH games kinda tend to do that. I hope KH4 is the change I’m looking for.

Great Mouse detective and rescuers down under would be adorable worlds for sora especially since he will be so cute as a mouse and we need a zootopia world so sora turns into a cute animal in that world

i’m not really that worried about accessibility but i think kh3 was kinda flat outside the dlc but dark road ff16 and rebirth have had really good writing so im hoping it rubs off on kh4
good. Note to the new writers- Weed a game just as good as KH2 with movement and fighting like KH3. That story is important, Minigames not so much.

KHII is an amazing game and better in most ways, but it has some the absolute worst worlds in the entire series in my opinion (Agrabah, Pride Rock, Disney Castle/Timeless River, Space Paranoids, and etc.
KHIII was a lot less “original”, but the quality of the worlds was at least semi-consistent, and I think it’s much better for it.

Look, I loved KH3, but the writing was NOT that game's strong suit. In fact, the writing in the series has been pretty bad for a long while now. Since Days, if I'm being honest. We need fresh blood on writing staff for a whole new phase. Need to start upping the game not just in terms of graphics but dialogue and plot, too.
Why fix what ain't broke? The writing is already peak in my eyes. Just having new writers from already great games will just make KH even more peak.

Olympus: Sora learns from Hercules that finding his own strength will require him having something or someone to fight for with all his heart. Sora repeats this mantra four more times throughout the course of his journey. And as more people like Xigbar & Pete try to get under Sora’s skin, Hercules ensures Sora that he’ll be able to prove to everyone that his sacrifices won’t be for nothing.
Toy Box: Young Xehanort is sent to conduct an experiment in Toy Box regarding the connection of hearts. Using Buzz & Woody, Young Xehanort was able to stretch the limits of the toy’s friendship and trust in order to turn the toys into pawns of the darkness. Through his observations, Young Xehanort learns that a strong heart filed with a vast amount of darkness can be placed within any sort of vessel the Organization desires, including an empty puppet, held together by just mere cloth & plastic. The results of these experiments with the various vessels found in Galaxy Toys contribute to the direct revival of Xion. Sora also exhibits strong leadership/competence overall throughout the duration of this world. He also demonstrates how strong of a grasp he has on what Young Xehanort has done to the world from his experience in the Sleeping Realm.
Kingdom Of Corona: To ensure that there will be seven hearts of light available to forge the Keyblade during the final clash, Marluxia is sent to this world to locate a new potential heart of pure light. Here he discovers Rapunzel, who must remain protected & preserved for the Organization in case the Guardians fail to assemble. When Rapunzel leaves the safety of her tower, Marluxia allows Sora to use the Keyblade to protect her from the Heartless. But because of Mother Gothel’s capability of keeping Rapunzel away from outside forces, Marluxia assists her in returning Rapunzel to the tower. He accomplishes this by framing Eugene “betraying” Rapunzel for running off with the crown & by also staging an encounter with Gothel vanquishing a pair of Nobodies with a branch (a red flag given that Nobodies can’t be defeated by basic objects) to “save” Rapunzel. Mother Gothel, however, loses control of Rapunzel and succumbs to her own darkness, which makes her presence as Rapunzel’s guardian no longer ideal for maintaining Rapunzel’s pure light for the Organization. Marluxia has Mother Gothel transformed into a Heartless for Sora to permanently vanquish with the Keyblade in an effort to protect Rapunzel until the Organization may need her. Sora also witnesses an act of true love between Rapunzel & Eugene that was strong enough to keep him from fading away; a crucial clue Sora will need for regaining his lost strength. The Guardians learn that the Organization is considering using the New Seven Hearts, which includes Kairi, as another option towards forging the X-Blade if the Guardians don’t assemble in time.
Monstropolis: Vanitas, in addition to pursuing Ventus’s heart, is also seeking negative emotion to reconstruct his damaged heart before he is able to adequately serve the XIII Seekers of Darkness. Vanitas travels to the Laughter Factory of Monstropolis, which is a world that was previously powered by the screams of human children converted into negative energy. Thanks to encountering Vanitas at Monstropolis & despite being hesitant of his claims, the Guardians finally learn where Ventus’s heart is located after over a decade of searching & how his heart was connected to Sora’s in the first place. This theory is corroborated by the Ansem the Wise data hidden inside of Sora after being decoded by Ienzo.
Arendelle: To ensure that there will be seven hearts of light available to forge the Keyblade during the final clash, Larxene is sent to this world to locate a new potential heart of pure light. Here, Larxene encounters Elsa & vows not to hurt her. However, Elsa has also been exhibiting dark tendencies with the use of her magic. Because it’s too early to call whether Elsa will accept light or darkness & because of Elsa not fully accepting what the nature of her power will be, Larxene observes the Queen of Arendelle from the shadows and prevents Sora from making a decision for Elsa so that she can figure out how to set her heart free her own way. After Elsa accepts her power as a source of light in her heart, with help from the love of her sister Anna, Larxene concludes that two of the Seven New Hearts are located in this world. Before returning to the Keyblade Graveyard, Larxene leaves Sora with this ultimatum: failure to assemble the seven guardians of light will result in the Organization targeting the likes of Anna, Elsa, Rapunzel & Kairi, individuals who have no direct involvement with the conflict at hand. To cause further panic, Larxene informs Sora that all XIII Darknesses have been assembled and are ready to initiate the war despite Vexen still working on completing the final two replicas for the Organization. With Larxene’s revelation that the Seekers allegedly have all XIII members, the Guardians now have very little time to prepare their seven for the final battle. At this point the Guardians only have 2 of their 7 members (Riku & Mickey) prepared & ready as Sora still hasn’t regained all of his power, Kairi & Axel are still in training and Aqua & Ventus are still out of commission. And with Rapunzel, Elsa & Anna at risk, the Guardians must journey to the fated place as soon as their last two missing members are recovered. This small amount of time leads to lack of preparation for the threats they will face on the Guardian’s part which will eventually lead to their first initial downfall against Terranort & the Demon Tornado in the Keyblade Graveyard and in turn, Sora’s arrival to the Final World. Sora also witnesses an act of true love between Anna & Elsa that was so powerful, it was able to thaw a frozen heart, which deepens his understanding of the kind of strength he needed to save the ones he cared about.
The Caribbean: Luxord is given the order from the higher ups of the Organization to locate the Black Box and seize it. This is supposedly a very important task for the Seekers as the box contains “hope”, the first ever direct clue for both Sora & the player towards the actual contents of the Black Box. Meanwhile Vexen, who is still developing his new batch of replicas as part of the ongoing Replica Program, learns about the chest of Davy Jones, which could potentially be the Black Box that the Organization is searching for. The box contains a secret that allows a creature who lacks a heart the ability to still exist, which is a feat that not even his own replicas are able to achieve. Vexen allows Luxord to keep Sora at bay so that he can continue his research on Davy Jones without interruption. Sora also, for the very first time, witnesses the brutal, unceremonial execution of someone he considers a friend, which sparks a highly emotional & visceral reaction. While Will is not permanently gone, the price of defying his destiny is incredibly steep & consequential. After learning the fate of the betrothed Will & Elizabeth, Sora initially believes that one day isn’t enough time to be with someone who’s destiny is intertwined with your own. Thanks to Jack, Sora is assured that no matter what could potentially happen to him, there’s always enough time for hearts between loved ones to connect and say what’s true, giving him the courage to peruse reviving his lost friends in spite of the guardian’s dwindling time to reunite.
San Fransokyo: After the success of Vexen’s Replica Program, Riku is sent to San Fransokyo to see if the Organization can recreate a heart from data, an idea that was somewhat influenced by Sora & Ienzo’s mission to reconstruct Roxas’s heart using data from the Virtual Twilight Town. In this world, in order to conduct this experiment, Riku accesses a portal leading to a mysterious void & retrieves both Baymax 1.0 & the robot’s “heart”. Dark Riku uses this chip to create a Heartless to collect the data he needed to construct the type of heart the Organization was after. After unleashing the Heartless onto the city, Riku is able to use the chip to construct a data heart of darkness made from conflict. Although Riku was doubtful that a being without a conventional heart like Baymax can turn an object into a real heart, thanks to Sora’s contributions, the chip also contains “hope” that will soon become a real, complete heart. The final pieces of the heart missing are elements of sadness & loss. To complete this task, Riku summons a dark portal, connects the Darkubes’s data to an empty vessel, and places the combat chip inside of Baymax 1.0 to attack Hiro, be destroyed by Sora & finish the data heart reconstruction experiment, which results in the revival of Xion.
Winnie-The-Pooh: During his visit to this world, Sora shows signs that his more mature recent experiences has caused him to outgrow the child-like innocence of this world and appears to be going through the motions of helping his childhood friends. When assuring Pooh that he’ll still always be in his heart, he begins to express doubt internally & admits that his connection to Pooh has indeed become weaker. This troubles Sora as losing any of his friends is a major fear of his, but Merlin assures him that by using his heart to find a new path to his friend’s heart, he’ll always find a way to recover whatever it is that was lost.

@@Redxan600 To each their own but to me, KH3’s story is peppered with weak dialogue, poor story progression (that conveys like a purposeless detour to the end rather than a cohesive journey and build-up to the conclusion), and incomprehensible explain-aways that avoid wrapping up plot points meaningfully just so the series can progress to it’s next so-called phase.
KH3 in short is a disastrous fanfic made official. It is criminally fun to play but not anything to take remotely seriously on a literary level because the story, is shit.

Bro.. I grew up with the series. I would not consider the story as a hole a masterpiece, you need to play some more games because I haven't been impressed when it comes to KH for years and while their is some great moments of course and it's not all bad, but as a hole it's not that great.
I love the series but at some point I had to admit that as a hole the story just sucks. KH3 was the final nail in the coffin for me for so many reasons in terms of how the story was handled.
and while I love the game play and characters, something does need to change in terms of the writing and better handling of these characters, also the dialog which was criticized a lot by people, and not just KH3 but other games such as DDD which was pretty much the meme game.
blindly defending nomura as if his writing doesn't have issues or problems is the reason why things don't get better. I think the series story really fell off when dream drop distance came around. if it were up to me the series should have gotten a soft reboot with KH4, use the ideas and story/lore from union cross of course and throw all that dark seeker BS in the trash.

If KH3 was the final nail for you, then honestly, it's not for you anymore. Why fix what ain't broke? Plenty of fans like me enjoyed what KH3 and the series brought. Honestly, I hope Nomura keeps up the good work to bring us more peak storytelling like this. Also, I'm not blindly defending him here. He does need to improve on some of the characters like Namine who has little screen time. But I also acknowledged that he has been improving.
