    Here’s an idea. What if the JP Raptors and the real Raptors switch places? The real raptors are now faced in the films while the JP raptors now actually existed millions of years ago. How radically do they alter their respective environments and the way things play out in the movie?

    • @kaijupokemongaming6101
      @kaijupokemongaming6101 4 місяці тому +38

      JP raptors IRL just completely take over the Mongolian ecosystem at the time, since they breed like rabbits and grow to full maturity quicker than normal (happened with the Rex, so likely the same here). They would cause an ecological collapse.
      Now, as for the movies, JP1 is immediately much less of a threat, since the real raptors, while still dangerous, are not cheetah speeds, human smart, or weigh 300 pounds. The main threat of the movie would swap to being the T.Rex. Lost World basically goes the same, since the raptors only appear near the end, but let’s just say the final extraction is much easier. JP3 would be by far the most altered, since raptors are a main driving point of the plot. Most of the early raptor encounters wouldn’t happen, but Billy stealing the eggs and the last scene before the military likely still would, playing out similarly, but less scarily, to the original.
      Jurassic World is where the changes really start. IRL raptors are likely not as smart as JP ones, so the training program, while possible, probably wouldn’t happen (and having a bunch of pissed-off chickens fight in wars sounds stupid). The Indominus would likely be a bit smaller and more feathered, but not much’ll change there. The final fight may end up being a loss for Rexy, considering she doesn’t have Blue to bail her out.
      If Rexy survives and the movies continue as normal, not much changes for the raptors. Obviously there’s no Betas, and Blue likely wouldn’t even be off the island by the end of the second movie, considering her bond with Owen and her importance just isn’t there anymore.
      Now if the Indominus wins the 2015 movie, then the island’s just getting napalmed, because they’d be sick of dealing with these guys.
      Sorry for the long-ass comment, I wanted to give my thoughts.

      Real Life Velociraptor in Jurassic Park: completely alters the plot, literally right out of the gate. The accident at the beginning of the film that resulted in a worker's death just would not have played out as originally shown, simply because the RL raptors would not have warranted that level of security. Like, we're talking about an animal that could have been carried around in a dog kennel. At most, poor Jophery would likely would have survived, but would still have had to go to the hospital.
      The rest of the movie would go very differently:
      - The "Clever Girl" scene? Iffy; more a result of chance than deliberate coordination.
      - The kitchen scene? Not a chance; Lex could scare them off by banging pots together and that's if they even manage to get past the door.
      - The climactic fight with the T. rex? _In your f***king dreams._
      While the RL raptor is dangerous in its own right, ultimately it's just not on the same threat level.
      Jurassic Park Velociraptor in Real Life: likely become the apex predator, but would struggle with the desert environment. Fun Fact about the JP raptor: they're not actually scaley. If you look closely at the animatronics from the first three films, you'll see that they actually have naked leathery skin, with scales limited to the face, hands and feet. As mentioned in the video, they're well suited to dense, humid forests. Without protective scales to shield them from the sun or insulating feathers to keep them warm at night, they'd alternate between frying and freezing, limiting their activity to dawn and dusk.

    • @danielbilodeau9045
      @danielbilodeau9045 4 місяці тому +29

      The delicious irony of the "Alpha Wolf Theory" is that it was debunked by the very scientist who first proposed it. He originally assumed that wolf packs dispersed during the summer months and then reformed in winter. He only later realised that wolf packs are actually family units, made up of a single breeding pair and multiple generations of their offspring.
      The social structure of the JP raptors is actually more like that of spotted hyenas. They do have the same kind of hierarchal pecking order, right down to the females being in charge (as we see in JPIII).

    The jurassic park/world trilogy velociraptors were actually deinonychus as during the production and before the production of jurassic park deinonychus anterrhopus was known as velociraptor antirrhopus as it was thought to be a subspecies of velociraptor. It was only later on in production that the name deinonychus was assigned however the directors thought velociraptor sounded cooler so they just ran with it. So the jurassic "velociraptors" are actually just deinonychus which explains their anatomy and partially explains their size, this is also why the "velociraptors" were found in north america in the film instwad of mongolia

    6:04 Curiously, in the novel the raptors are good climbers, something that sadly was never shown or taken advantage of in the films.
    7:55 and 8:09 in reality a human was too big to serve as prey for a real Velociraptor, and even more so considering that there is no evidence that they hunted in groups and that they were too inteligente. And of course, their claw was more useful for hooking prey easy to subdue than to cut or stab.
    (7:46 GojiCenter and Dangerville cameo).
    8:51 Another difference between the novel and the film is that ours of the raptor's DNA were extracted from China (although it should be Mongolia but at least it was made to the site).
    I like to imagine that the Raptors in the novel are actually Achillobators and the filmic ones are Dakotaraptors. But since they were unknown species for the time, this is the reason why they were nicknamed "Raptors" or erroneously "Velociraptor."

    Just watched. Another banger. Can't wait for the Dilophosaurus episode: that one I'm really looking forward to as I don't know as much about that animal, specifically the real one. Be sure to give a mention to the novel version, which was a more accurate animal than the movie version!

    OK would've been even greater to have a deinonychus walk with them too, because it was it's anatomy they mainly took, but other than that seriously this was well done, and at the start the way the accurate velociraptor appeared and it's run was just adorable to me, I love it.
    I would love to see Baryonyx one day, though I'm very excited for Dilophosaurus.

    Funny how that is called the Tyrannosaurus killer, and scary it hunted in packs most likely.

    First comparison video I've seen where they mention a velociraptor could still actually kill a person. They were small but not THAT small. A lot of people say they're chicken sized but they were more like a large turkey or, as you said, coyote, with much more strength than any turkey and sharp teeth and claws.

    Hello Beastopia, I don't know if you'll see this, but I felt I should give you a heads up. I don't know if you watch GOT or HOTD, but since Aegon's conquest is going to get a live action show as well, Goji Center might ask to borrow your facility again since they don't have a holding cell that's big enough to house Balerion the Black Dread.
