This kind of small cottage industry that both helps provide livelihood to the locals, side by side with environmental impact, should be given the due attention and support not only of DTI but also of other relevant gov't agencies and authorities, even of DSWD, Senatorial, Congressional and Gubernatorial Districts. Genuine support that translates into doable actions with results.
I remember another project/business that used water hyacinth many years ago. The person focused on turning it into charcoal briquettes. However, for some reason, the person who started it didn't seem to actively promote it. She didn't answer questions from buyers, so it faded away. I hope this won't die out the way the other did.
They need to explore more other uses of water hyacinth other than handicraft maybe it can be processed as an additive to animal feeds or use it as a fiber for paper making and make it more on industrial scale to remove them from waterways
Water Lilies and water hyacinths are two different plants. Water hyacinths are the one growing in laguna de bay and pasig river which mentioned in this video
Principled and dignified people. Saludo ako sa kanila with highest respect👍👍👍❤!

Technically this is not a water lily, but a Water Hyacinth. It would be nice if you can correct this GMA.
Those are water hyacinth not wayer lilies
