- When Daniel Lopatin started his career over a decade ago, his touring partner was an old Juno-60 synth. Now, his musical universe is realized on stage with the help of a live ensemble, dancers and surreal installation art. As he prepares for his final performance of MYRIAD, Oneohtrix Point Never takes us inside his “concertscape” concept.

Daniel is unmatched when it comes to sound design and texture in music. This guy is a huge inspiration for me and it's been great watching him grow as an artist, composer, and visionary. I really hope his willingness to work with more pop artists signals some heavy influence from his music into the mainstream music scene.
Daniel, your music has changed my life, I hope one day to meet you and to be able to say thank you, for me you are one of the best composers of my generation, and when I listen to your albums..visions, strange and beautiful scenarios come to my mind, which i never seen, but osmehow i remember, I get lost in incomprehensible, desolate landscapes, i don't know in what future, or past, or dimension i am, but I find that profound peace, which the chaos of everyday life had completely obscured, I can't explain myself, but you are my fucking myth.
So glad to know that i'm not the only that was never the same after listen OPN for the first time
@@danielfrancio4530 Power of Persuassion put me in a mind altering trance after my first listening. I made beats in a DAW at the time, it was so inspiring to me. I wanted to be able to portray my thoughts and emotions through music with such unique intricacy, such chaotic balance & broad variety as his work could be described as. Daniel's music is a furthering of the expressive potential of audio compositions. His muse must be out of this world. I doubt there are many even like him, able to conceive of how to produce like he does. Better yet, can you imagine why? Was it really just the nature of his mind to incentivize his desire to compose like that? His creative potential is enough to rival the obscure forces of nature themselves!
In a past interview, Daniel said something like, "Music can be seen as a device for which to augment the mind-state, you can access certain feelings and thoughts more effectively from the right mindset, which can be sourced from a type of melody.."
A lot of his songs seem to turn my attention to the severe absurdity of life. Not in a super critical way, but more like I just feel more inspired to entertain the contrast between what society seems to think of life, what I feel I think of life, and what I want to think I have reason to believe I know what reality actually might be.
@@lucabaar1 i agree 100% with you. I think that listen the musics made by him have a rellation with something deep and obscure, but not hidden. For me, liking and understanding the melodies of musics is related to feeling and not being smart or cult.
i have to catch this guy before i die
Like a pokemon or a predator?
He wants to meet him.
That’s all I know.
Saw him at Disney Hall. To this day, it’s one of the best things I’ve ever seen.
Great artist. Along with the likes of other visionaries like Forest Swords, Nico Jaar, Actress.. I am really happy to be an electronic music fan with artists as brilliant as this working today.
The dancers wearing N95 masks in 2019 is kinda ominous...
he did say they were dancing "at the end of time"
ARGH I love him so much :")
Those dancers and the idea now in retrospect is pretty intense
Best live show I’ve ever seen was at AIC, I cried the hardest I had that year during it. Daniel and co. Contain actual magic
seeing his show at the Armory NYC was definitely a highlight of last year. good group
This guy and Aaron Funk are my heroes
I saw the Myriad at Park Avenue Armory last year. I hope to god a full recording of these shows pops up, it was an incredible experience I hope will not be lost to time.
