    Really enjoy your videos, Ryan and Megan. Have you guys ever secured a travel contract with vacation time built into the contract? Like taking a 1 week vacation during the contract? Thanks!

    • @RyanMegan
      @RyanMegan  Рік тому +3

      For sure! We've asked for weeks off before we sign contracts and most places are willing to accept. Some might just ask us to sign on for a 14-16 week assignment instead of 13 weeks depending on how much time we've asked off during!

    Y’all keep up the great work also is that 15-25k after taxes or before?

    • @RyanMegan
      @RyanMegan  Рік тому +1

      The range for PT, OT, and SLP disciplines is $1500 - $2500 / week (after taxes).

    Hey guys love the videos. General question let’s say you move from state to state, do the contractors for travel therapy pay for flights or is that on you? Sorry stupid question haha

    • @RyanMegan
      @RyanMegan  Рік тому

      Most travel companies will pay a certain dollar amount of travel to the next contract depending on the distance traveled and the travel company's preference. It's been anywhere from $200-$800 for us.

    To be honest. I would argue that you shouldn't take anything below 2,000 net/ take home. Most travel companies take >%40 from your weekly rate. And will put up a fight to keep that high amount (make it seem like other PT's are waiting in line to take the job) but after you push around a little bit, you can get up to $500-600 more than the Gross price listed on their websites. They usually don't push the clinic if they can see if they get you more for you, they just take a lower cut.

    Love your videos, quick question regarding travel PT.
    Can you still qualify for the tax-free income if you do not have a tax home? If not, do you just receive $1500-2500 a week that will just get taxed or how does it work?
    Keep up the great work!!

    • @RyanMegan
      @RyanMegan  Рік тому +1

      If you do not maintain a tax home, then you’ll be considered an itinerant worker and need to let your travel company know that all of your earnings need to be taxed. Hope that helps!

    Hi! I am currently a PT student looking into being a travel PT after graduation. I was wondering if the 1500-2000 a week is including the stipends? and also if you think someone could do travel right after graduation? thank you!

    • @RyanMegan
      @RyanMegan  5 місяців тому

      Yes the pay breakdown of 1800 to 2500 a week is including the stipends. And yes it's totally doable to start your career traveling after graduation! We have a few videos on that to watch!

    Clarifying question, so does the travel company create assignments for you after one assignment is complete? So if your first assignment is 13 weeks, will they set you up with another 13 week assignment after?

    • @RyanMegan
      @RyanMegan  11 місяців тому

      The travel company offers you job assignments (13 weeks each) and then you decide if you want to take them or not. So about 1 month before the end of your first assignment, you'll want to talk to you travel recruiter and figure out what job assignment you'd like to go to next and what is available at that time. Hope that helps! 🙏

    I know it varies from state to state but I googled it and also looked up on zip recruiter but do traveling PTAs make about 70-80k?

    • @RyanMegan
      @RyanMegan  Рік тому +2

      There are less travel PTA jobs out there compared to PT, OT, and SLP. So you have to be very flexible on location. But most of the time the travel PTAs make about $1200-$1600/week (after tax). I've seen some make more, but that's a good range to expect.

    Question! I see a lotttt of contracts online for over $2,000, and you said the high end was $1,800. Are the ones above $2,000 hard to get? I’ve seen contracts for $3,000 a week. Too good to be true?

    • @RyanMegan
      @RyanMegan  9 місяців тому +2

      I would say the top range has moved to $2500. Anything over that would be hard to find, but they are out there. Also travel companies are starting to show gross pay instead of net pay. So just be sure to check that!

    You gonna throw a 25min video with the title (how much does ---- make per year) at least add chapters so I don't have to hear you talk for 20minutes to find my answer
