Rebuilding A Bed Tilt Cylinder On Jerr-Dan Roll Back

This video shows you how to disassemble and rebuild a Jerr-Dan Hydraulic Cylinder. This type of cylinder, the "old style," has not one but TWO snap rings. One is deep inside the barrel, making it very difficult to remove. We will show you a trick to help you with that, as well as give you a list of seals we used on this particular cylinder. Can jer dann cylinders be replaced with another double acting cylinder?

If your talking about another brand or an off brand cylinder, probably not. There is a company- baileyhydraulics.com that offers off brand cylinders, but on tow trucks and flat beds, the way cylinders are mounted and the stroke is SUPER critical, especially on the bed tilts. That being said, you can always have a welder put new mounts on the bed. But if you can get it from JerrDan, that’s what I would do. 🙂

Were can u buy the the seal kit

You can call JerrDan with the model and serial number or go to your local hydraulic shop and they might be able to measure up the seals and make you a kit
