Crow has attacked a duckling. Aftermath !! NOT NICE to Watch

- We WARNED !! Only the hardened wildlife viewer, should watch this video....This is NOT nice to watch but thats nature !! Nature can be what we think is cruel but thats survival.
The crow originally swooped down & twisted its neck with its beak.
Causing massive nerve damage.
The crow then sat back & waited for the duckling to weaken, before coming back for it. - Наука та технологія
Amazing how fast a crow is when hunting. Truly remarkable nature, even if it's a hard lesson for the duck parents.
A crow & all corvids are some of the smartest birds in nature :)
Its fascinating how they seem to know how to injure a duck quickly so its flock abandons them for little risk
She really doesn't want to leave him behind :(
She certainly tried her best to get it to its feet but alas the damage was done .
@@AveburyEddie Yes you could really see how she wanted him alive. Poor mother. Nature is very harsh.
@@accountnolongerinuse2044 What many dont realise.
They dont get to see this side of nature on TV, or very rarely
Yes. And the bastard who filmed it could have helped. No. He'd rather film it and excuse it as "Nature is harsh"...you only have to look at his over enthusiastic responses to note he's a sick bastard. And an attention seeking hypocrite.
@@TheMasterNo6 The duckling was attacked. There was nothing anybody could do, the little baby was already dying. This is pretty normal, in my city there's a bunch of ducks. Nature is like this and there's nothing you can do about it, some need to know the truth.
This is an amazing video, you can see the parental instinct of the mother trying to revive her injured duckling.
Dont forget the way how she's calling to the other ducklings to get in the water, out of harms way.
I think its horrible but fascinating at the same time...Ha Ha !! Yes I can understand the people who have never seen nature in its raw state, getting upset. TV dont show this side of nature !

@@ldlink3935 that's a female duck, so likely to be the mother. In that species, the females are brown speckled and the males have the bright green heads. How was that sexist?
@@ldlink3935 that's a female duck because she was born a female duck
Poor mother duck, she looks desperate trying to put her duckling upright and make it walk again.
Yes it is indeed sad to see but that is nature..Be it in it harshest form.
The crow had attacked the duckling & then went back & bided its time, until it struck again
I watched the initial attack but knew that I was not to interfere...Let nature take its course !!
Still, I imagine the initial attack must've been really fast, the mother didn't have time to react. Not much to do even if you've wanted to interfere.
You are correct there. I was taking a photo when the crow first struck & it was one second & gone !!
That fast but that enough to leave the duckling stricken.
I always say when I go out, not interfere with nature & just photograph it & record it.
No mater how nasty it gets.
Im a believer that nature should be shown in its rawest state & not just its cute & cuddly.
Ha Ha !! I will say that yes, I do have quite a few cute & cuddly vids though :)
As to the duckling, im afraid that you are correct. It was quite doomed, from that first initial attack.
@ Good God !! You dont even know how humans work, let alone how nature works !!
Humans have Canine teeth, so hence we are by nature, meat eaters :)
However I dont wear animal products, except my leather boots that I have made for me..I dont have any choice on that one.
However !! If I wanted to I could go vegetarian, do to them eating Fish.
While staring in a movie in France last year, I found that a quarter of the cast were vegetarians
I had no thoughts of saving the duckling. The Crow has to eat also. As most likely does is chicks
Thats how nature works.
Ha Ha !! Sorry for traumatising you but I did warn you not to watch the video.
So that was your fault Im afraid, for looking :)
If you were in Africa and you interfered when one animal is eating another, you would be breaking the law.
A lot of birds (heron, gull) shake prey by the neck, maybe causing some nerve damage. Wonder if that's what happened.
Yeah most likely the attack from the crow caused nerve damage. The duckling is not paralyzed because it is still moving it's feet, but it can no longer stay balanced or walk.
As the crow first attacked, it did indeed twist the duckings neck. It was like a quick pinch, with a twist !!
Without doubt it did cause nerve damage.
@@AveburyEddie birdie whiplash
@@africheeseyoutube That sums it up !!
That's what I was thinking, it seems like it injured the little ducklings neck, that poor momma was doing such a good job trying to protect her young and get her little one up and going. Poor momma and baby
To answer the question I noticed in comments. Yes, crows and other predatory birds (around that size) will weaken their prey into a submissive state. Then wait until the prey is tired out from fighting itself(lashing out) to get into a safer environment or until prey is weak from convulsing from pain and survival techniques. In this particular video, the crow had to wait for the surrounding ducks to disperse from the now tired and helpless duckling before it could go in for the kill.
You are spot on the money, there :)
This crow Im thinking has Chicks to feed.
It took its head off & hid for its brain & then took its body away for the chicks.
Heartbreaking, but that’s nature.
so is me failing math...

ProGamer how the fuck do you decide what crows eat and what not. These birds eat everything that has meat on it.

Avebury Eddie then its technically “attempted murder”
crow kinda sus
We need the fbi chickens to handle this
It's not heartbreaking... It's just nature. Crows have to hunt too for their survival
They dont hunt animals as a rule, except when they have chicks of their own to feed.
This one ate the brain & then carried the body away for the chicks.
@Darren Ediss okay, I you're right but I didn't knew it exactly 😅
"Later that night, high up the tree"
"You sleep very soundly...FOR A MURDERER"

The duckling definitely suffered some nerve damage - crows grab prey by the neck and shake hard. Pretty sure this is what happened.
Correct, it was like a quick tweak & twist of its neck.
So severe nerve damage, that it wouldnt have gotten over.
Yeah, the duckling was going to die anyway, you can see that its movements were becoming weaker, with it just flinching its feet by end.
Also the duckling was in intense pain the whole time, based on its breathing rhythm.
Yes it certainly would have done.
Crows do this & then just sit back & wait for their prey to get weaker, before going for the kill.
Avebury Eddie they're a smart animal. Why risk themselves to the wrath of those group when it can wait until its prize died and safe to claim

Good lord that scream as the crow takes off with it xD
Duck, duck, duck, CROW!!!!!!
That's how it is in nature. The weak and the young are preyed upon. It isn't all cute puppies and cuddly kittens. Predators get hungry, they kill. Judging by the looks of it, that duckling was done at the first strike. Best thing to do was to just keep filming and let the crow finish what it started.
Someone that understands nature !! Good to see.
The duckling would have died from shock alone. Let alone its injuries.

There are not too many vegan crows about.
When I stumbled upon this video, I immediately paused it and read the description, as I do for every video I watch. They are very smart & very skilled when hunting.
The Crow twisted the ducklings neck in flight. It then flew off until the duckling weakened.
