- Hey everyone! Welcome back to another episode of life aboard #TheLuckyBus. First of all, some big news that I didn’t cover in the video is that the plan for THE TAHOE RIM TRAIL IS BACK ON! I am heading down there tomorrow so you may not see us post for a couple weeks while I’m gone.
I hope you guys enjoyed some of these epic views from South Sister as much as I did. I would argue this is the most epic hike in Bend, Oregon, and maybe even the best I’ve done anywhere. It was a big challenge physically with a pack, but I made it through and am ready to take on Tahoe! Let me know if there is anything specific you’d like to see from the trail and I will try to incorporate your ideas. :)

Just rewatched this video while waiting for your final videos of the AT through hike. Living in Springfield OR I can see the Three Sisters from the nearby highway. That area is beautiful and I had forgotten sine if your early videos. Rewatching gives me something to do while waiting. You have cone so far since this video. Keep Smiling.

I did this in the 70's it was so amazing! Breath and drink a lot of water. I recommend if you camp hang your food high up cause animals will take it. Enjoy this amazing journey and all the beauty ❤.

Dan, nice trek to the top of South Sister! My dad took me up a couple of the peaks in that area when I was young. I definitely remember the lava rock in many places. One suggestion for when (or if) you do one of the epic trails like the PCT or AT: pick a different tradition than collecting rocks - you'll have 100 pounds of rocks by the first month!
PS - if you do the PCT, let me know and I'll meet you at the south terminus for a send off. Again, way to go on a nice "first"!
Good job. I couldn't do it at my age and health condition I just can't. But I enjoy being able to watch you take those hiking Journeys. Stay well and keep having fun.

It's kind of like watching a movie where the viewer knows the main character is heading the wrong direction and trying to yell at screen to turn around :).. just sharing the gut feeling fwiw.
Your doing a awesome job! I think you got this check your feet for blisters new boots are a bitch!! Doesn't South Sister have mountain bike trail too! Dan start your own tradition if your starting new try not to live in the past! But its your choice, and a beautiful way to remember ur hike! ❤
