Hey Pete, awesome video. I’ve recently been fishing at Moreton as well but I don’t know where to fish or where the deeper waters are, where abouts do you fish within Moreton bay? Cheers 🥂
Slowly working through the videos mate, so incredible to see how accurate you can be with sounding the fish up. Kudos anyone one of those fish in a session is awesome let alone to line them all up like that 👍🏽
Mate so glad i found this channel , ive been hunting fish in this bay for ages , i just thought it was average fishing thanks for proving me wrong , from nz originally where you can’t have a bad day out haha , if you can even share one of your favourite spots with me id be so appreciative ? Cheers
Sometimes it is but not that often 🤣. Prefer medium sized tides as too much run can make getting a lure in the zone difficult. Don’t mind either direction, run in or run out, just gotta find em 🤪.
I like how all the boats are bunched up 300 m away and your there on ya own showing ‘‘em how it’s done. Don’t make too much noise they will start moving towards you.
Mate I’ve just subbed.. very excited to have found your channel. I’m a youtuber too like yourself but honestly mate you make me look like a rookie 😂😂😂 The knowledge you have is insane! I was gobsmacked when I realised you can use the electronics to precisely pinpoint accurately where the fish are. You made no attempt to hide your depths etc like some of the other channels. I can see your channel is gonna skyrocket once people know about you..awesome! Keep the vids coming! 💪
Really appreciate the kind words mate! I’m pretty knew to making vids, so hopefully they will only get better as I go. Let me know if there is anything more that could be on the vids. Few guys have asked to see what I’m looking at in the sounder for example. Cheers
Just started lure fishing and friend told me to watch you! Pretty keen to get out there and give it a try. For some big dogs. I can see by the comments your talented thanks for sharing some brissy knowledge. Do u ever hit logan river much or any other rivers? Subbed keen to learn more
Nice Peter, good to see so many good fish in the bay...and you have certainly mastered the art of catching using plastics........ Do you have specific spots on the bay that produce for you or do you ride around looking for them.... See you have your Sounders out to the side of the boat not below.... (You saw fish 30m out to the side of your boat?
@@marki-p5065 hi Mark, I generally look with the sounder at various spots until I find the fish I want to target. The closer my boat is to the fish, the better. Boat positioning and knowing where to cast that will see the lure come past the fish is critical.
Great video, and excellent skill with using electronics and fishing techniques. Thanks for sharing. It was a bit of a downer for me though to see you put the fish in your live well while it was still alive and allow it to die slowly. It would really easy to despatch the fish in a second with a brain spike which makes no difference to us anglers, but makes a big difference to the fish. As an influential UA-camr, it would be good to see you also advocate to your community some good practices in fish welfare and treatment as well.
Cheers mate. Kinda understand your point. I have a background of a lot of tournament fishing, where they keep multiple fish in a live well for many many hours and then release the fish. Just wondering what your thoughts on that are?
@@Peter_Herbst_Fishing I also catch and use live bait, of which very few really ever survive or enjoy the experience. So i shouldn't make comments to others. When I know that I'm keeping a fish though I do my best to despatch it as quickly as possible. I really respect your knowledge and skill and hope to learn more from your future videos.
@@craigmcalister4451 when I’m better organised, I have a esky and ice. I brain spike, bleed and ice. Some of my other videos show this. The livewell is very large with great circulation, both inflow and recirculation. Pretty sure in this video I catch a Jew which is released ‘in the water’ not taken out etc. I do try and look after fish I am not going to eat as best I can. But I agree that it’s best to kill fish immediately as they test better and is better for the fish. Going to look into fish bags as esky really gets in the way unfortunately and one I have isn’t overly big for fish like 1m plus.
I wish I could find fish like that you got a new subscriber awesome been out the bay twice last two weeks on smelly pillys I'd much rather fish the way you do 🤙 Hey Peter don't suppose you can Drop a short vid sometime on how you use your sounder side scan to spot schools like those snapper that would be awesome cheers 🤙🎣
Great fish there mate! Keen to give the plastics another crack as been going back to bait of late. You certainly have figured out how to nail the big fish in the bay. Well done mate 👍🎣
Nice edit mate, some nice fish, love the bay, i dropped a few new snapper videos on my channel, down here at kingscliff way, some awesome reds around. What lb leader u using mate? I subscribed too mate
Poking through all your videos not one I haven’t enjoyed just awesome!
Cheers mate!
hi mate in new zealand we measure the snapper from the head to the center of the tail v . not the tip. . if we measured it here. it be a 33cm snap
Australia measures to the tip and the fork length of these snapper would have been over 60 or so at a guess.

made it look easy mate. whats the best tide for jewies in the bay mate?
