I woke up to find out the UK has been voted the 2nd most miserable place on earth, so I came to Birmingham for a lovely day out. However that was short lived when I stumbled across England's dirtiest neighbourhood....I escaped immediately. A new journey then began to a new exciting country and one I have never visited! That was also short lived as I was dragged to one of the most chaotic places on earth.

It's not 60%... The website itself does a 50% discount for choosing annual. Your 60% is from the maximum amount. Your discount is practically worthless... good scam though.
I was waiting for this 😂
Why don't you go to Bournville or Solihull, or four oaks, Shirley, Catherine De-Barnes instead of the shitty parts
Let Kat take you to the suburbs and the rough parts of Portugal then youlle change your mind lad......
You simply can't just go to the shitty parts of Birmingham then say this is England ffsake
I traveled to the UK from Ireland recently and was shocked by the cost of train tickets, Much higher in price than we pay.
I live near Brighton which is a hour journey from London by train costs £20 for a day out to London but would cost 30 if i left after 10 in morning but yes the prices for trains are a joke but its quicker at getting to places then buses
@@Leojw10in Ireland it is cheaper after 9.30.
@@Leojw10I've never seen a person from the UK say "then" instead of "than". I thought it was just an American thing.
I live in Nottingham. In 2006 I dated a girl from Southampton. A weekend return ticket to Southampton cost £320. I flew to Dubai and back that same year on Virgin Atlantic for the same price. Not only were the prices astronomical the service was terrible. Leaving Southampton at 2pm Sunday got me home for 6am Monday when I need to be at work at 9. The UK is a joke.
Pretty much everything else in Ireland is more expensive than the UK
As someone who was born in Birmingham and grew up there, I'm glad I got out, now I just need to get out of the uk
As I get older I’m realising now more than ever that U.K. isn’t worth staying in and I need to look at other options
@cultfiction3865 me too mate, I'm 37 nothing here for me tbh
@@cultfiction3865 where do brits go these days? LA?
@@rizkyadiyanto7922 I think many move to Australia. That’s a very popular destination where Brits emigrate. Ireland is also close by so perhaps a few go there. And of course some move to Canada and the US although, perhaps not as much as Oz since some have hang ups about health insurance and a perception of Americans all been gun slinging crackshots which is just a false stereotype anyway
Did this all happened in Birmingham because of immigration from India and Pakistan ??
Thanks for the trip mate! Safe travels. See you soon 👍👊
You might find it interesting that I grew up in Weston , a neighbour of John Cleese and his family.
Joe Fish a real legend . ❤
Weren't you in a previous video where Baldie was also there?
Did Ben meet you randomly in one of his recent vids?
@@Treslimbs yep! I just got done taking a whiff of jemkem with a bloke named Mario, it was wicked mate!
thank you for your videos backfapper ben

What's Ben doing? Fapping?
Thanks for showing us around! We had a blast meeting you and visiting the UK! Safe travels!!
Legends! Thanks for coming guys. Hopefully Birmingham didn’t put you off 😬
I can only imagine Bald showing up in one of Ben's room with a greeting, Bloody Hell?!
😆
My next door neighbour flew to Italy got pizza and flew back was cheaper than a dominos delivery 5 mins up the road
Insane only in the UK 🇬🇧 😅
I believe you because i've flown to Poland and back for £20 with Whizzair 10 years ago.
Wow Ben - 3 countries in one video - you're really spoiling us!
Great to see the dream team back together and travelling must really suit Kat because she looks more gorgeous in every new video.
Was there an Incogni ad in this vlog? I guess the acting was so natural I didn't even notice it.
Cheers mate. Yes only took one take as well 👀😬
Starts in the UK, brief interlude in Portugal, finale in India- it’s like a James Bond movie!
Except it would be London, then Monaco, then Vegas!
Ben Bond! 😂😂
It's about time you went to Portugal! I'm so glad you went, and with Kat as your partner/guide is perfect! Portugal is remarkably beautiful, it is expensive, but it's worth the price.
Fantastic cant wait for the adventure...
Also in defence of the toilet that is Brum .. you can't compare it to the Fentanyl plagued tented streets of America .
Fr like I’d choose the worst city in Britain over any city in the USA any day of the week no matter how much decline
Life in the City of Zombies | Kensington Philadelphia
ua-cam.com/video/9iSkKkzabnM/v-deo.html
Good one mate
And it's all being done by design in both countries. And did I say FJB ?
TheUS is so big that the worst fentanyl plagued areas are in the skid rows of large cities. Everyplace does not look like Philly Kensington. Drug addicts in tents congregate in inner cities, not usually in middle class suburbs.
So glad your both back and off on more adventures for us to follow (Watching from Southeast uk)
Appreciate it!
they keep telling us iinflation is down but yet everything keeps rising astronomically
Inflation going down just means prices rise slower not that prices go down.. wages need to go up to compensate for inflation.
when you dont do anything about it ofc they can keep raising the prices too
Great variety in this video Ben, well done and more like this if you can please.
I'm so thrilled you've been able to visit Cat's hometown! Hopefully, you'll be able to go on many more fun and novel adventures together!
Lovely to see the two of yous.
Aahhh, always a good travel with a nice companion like Catarina. Enjoy and take care👍🏻👍🏻
That's such a wonderful gesture Ben & Cat. You've been so kind to appreciate the goodness in that taxi driver. Life is good. Love to all. 🎉

What a wild array of different locations.
Doesn’t get more random
Love your vids from America! And welcome back, Kat!
Appreciate it pal!
The cost of living in the UK is absolutely Insane 😡😡😡particularly the train ticket 😣😣😣Abso-bloody-lutely ridiculous!🤯🤯😣😣
Now UK is unofficially IND your prime minister is also indian soon uk will become little India
Nice footage Backbender Ben !
Thanks!🫡
India is not for weak hearts
I found everywhere in Europe spotless!
In the last year I’ve been to Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic and Spain and all spotless, they have people cleaning up all hours of the day - here in the UK it is backward as hell - heading towards becoming a 3rd world country!
thats because we keep importing 3rd world people ..its inevitable
This country has always been dirty and scruffy.
I remember going to Germany for the first time yrs ago and being blown away by how clean and tidy it all was compared to turdtown UK.
What do you think the common factor is there then?
Have you visited Pairs? Smells good ? 🤣
It is all because of immigration from IND & PAK
2:00 That's the fridge Boris hid in back in 2019.
Oh boy! I never expected this. What a twist you two. 😂 You've landed in Mumbai! Awesome! With all the love in my heart I welcome both of you. Have a great time. Good luck. Cheers! 🎉 It feels so good to know you guys are here.
Great vidéo. Nice to see Joe again. BUT --- need to be careful on the spelling please ! (We spoke TOO soon).
My good god. Not a lot of difference between the rubbish in Birmingham and India. Just the weather. Kat is a real trooper. ❤
People don’t change. Bring their ways with them.
But majority are from Pakistan
@@MasterBlaster3545 People can and do change. Once, not so long back ago, you used to rule the world. Now you are nothing but losers. What a change! You deserve much worse, btw. As a non-Brit who has no wish to set foot in that blighted land ever, I wish your country the worst in every possible way. Cheers!
@@aamaldev494I have seen people from all the world drop litter in the streets in the inner city. In one district they put the rubbish out whenever they have a full bag or bin despite council notices informing them when bin day is. They put food waste and dirty unwashed out food containers in the green recycling bags so cats and wild animals tear them apart for rotting food to eat. Students are also among the biggest culprits as well.
We can't have bottle banks and communal bins otherwise they will get contaminated. Instead we have transparent bags so bin men can see if they have been contaminated with food waste and textiles inside. We have a communal brown wheelie bin for our block of flats for food in council food bags which are biodegradable at high temperatures but people have contaminated it with food still in plastic packaging or loose so it rots on the bottom of the bin.
I put notices on the bin that it was only to be used by people living in our block of flats and that food should be removed from plastic packaging and placed in council food bags but the food in the plastic packaging still appeared. I found out who the culprit was. He lives in the next street so I reported him to ward councillors who paid him a visit for ignoring my notices on the bin. He then stopped.
They should bring back bottle deposits like they had decades ago until Cadburys bought Schweppes and stopped it. When the mandatory plastic bag charge was brought in single use plastic bags got sturdier as nobody was going to pay 5p for a flimsy plastic bag that splits on the way home. Some were like gossamer they were so thin. Then you started seeing far less plastic bags as litter in the streets, trees and hedges.
@@MasterBlaster3545It's indigenous people as well as immigrants dropping litter. But once the immigrants start other people follow as once the streets are dirty they are more inclined to drop litter. But it also house clearance firms fly tipping.
Quality video mate!

Three countries in one video - best deal on UA-cam! I grew up in Bombay, so it's interesting to see you there. I've lived in the US and Europe since the age of 11, been back to Bombay a couple of times, still have childhood friends there. Looking forward to following your latest adventures in India!
Cant wait for you and Catarina to travel through Portugal vlog, so much to see and do there! 4 very distinct climates if you include Madeira and the Acores
I drove through Birmingham on friday and was shocked by the fly tipping,,,and this is from someone who lives in London
I’ve not been to London since been about 7 even though I’m now 41, but on Google maps the place looks cleaner than many places I’ve been in northern England
Agree,,,most of the country is on its knees,,its such a shame because i love this country i just think yhe government shoulf focus locally,,,were living in mad max times

isn't Birmingham City council bankrupt or something like that, that they can't afford to pick up their own shit?
thats not their shit. its somebody elses.
It’s Asians and Romanians and every other ethnicity that come over to our country and have no respect for it, plain and simply
They spent ALL THE MONEY. But to get over this miss management of the publics funds, they are putting the council tax up by 21% 😂 WTF
To many foreigners who don’t care
it's the fact that that s an Asian way of life - fly-tipping. Muslims do it a lot and a ot of councillers are muslim. Go figure
Churning out lots of great videos 👍
WOW, those transportation costs are insane!!! No wonder you travel the world, Ben, it's to save money! Lovely to see darling Katarina again ... hope your travels are amazing.
It's cheaper to fly to Spain than it is to take the train for a journey over 3 hours. One man trying to get home to London from Scotland or the North of England flew to Spain and then flew to London and saved money as the train fare was so expensive.
way to go, ben!
I commented that Ben should come to the Midlands a few videos ago. So glad he's done a few videos here, ngl it's grimmer than I thought it'd be on film XD
I appreciate all your hard work Ben. Found you years ago with Bald and been hooked since. When you’re on an adventure so am I. Best wishes and safe travels. Milwaukee, Wisconsin USA sends you guys love.

@BackpackerBen cheers mate
What a rollercoaster of emotions 😮
I go down to Plymouth quite frequently - I always go by coach [National Express]. Friendly, efficient, comfortable, refreshment stop on the way, great scenery. If you're going via London, it takes 5.5 hours. Good to catch up with mail, read or just enjoy the scenery. And if you pay for a student card, or an elder's card for a year, you get an extra third off! So a return from London to Plymouth can be as little as £30!!! They go to lots of other places too. It's magical to get the night coach to Glasgow, then take a local bus to Oban or one of the other stops in wonderful wild Argyllshire. Or head down to the South West of England, Devon and Cornwall. Forget the train!
lets hope there are no more golden nuggets ben in the sea, keep your mouth closed whilst swimming
You really got around in this one! 3 countries in one video.
Tough one Churchill
Portugal is highly underrated.Well Done Kat🌻
I’ve never wanted to visit Portugal until you began featuring Kat. She’s always in high spirits and you guys always have a lot of fun anywhere you go. I’m now interested in PT and the best of all is that I can speak Portuguese 😃

I was looking forward to seeing Ben back in a hot country.

Stop torturing yourself @BackpackerBen, shack up with Kat and move to Portugal and live the good life ☺
He still needs to make these videos though. There are towns and cities that were lovely from the 80s to the 00s that I would not want to visit now as they made the list of run down towns. Such as Torquay.
I do like Phil Carr's videos as he highlights the good and bad and has running jokes in them such as counting the number.of Waitroses, Icelands, Lidls, Aldis and Wetherspoons in every place he visits as a measure of wealth and his prejudice against Kent which adjoins the county he lives in which is Surrey.
Public transport prices in the UK are infamous, they are totally scandalous. The UK government would better serve the people by focusing on the ordinary people rather than playing geopolitical games that London can no longer afford.
What an exotic trip!
Well, there's many calculations saying how much cheaper it would be to stay All Inclusive in
Spain instead of the costs of basic living in the UK. And I'm Swedish and I live in the UK. Help.
Yeah it’s pricey here if I was in a better situation I’d try to move out of here myself. But it’s not always as easy as we’d like it to be
Have you got a hangover Ben? Funny, you've never mentioned it 🤔😉 cracking video mate

To be fair. I’ve been to Hyderabad and yes that market is mental but there is a huge pedestrian area. Nice temples in Hyderabad where you can chill. And the cars stop at red lights so a bit of skewed image 😀
Long awaited visit to Portugal with Kat!!!

Any video with Kat is a 5-star video!
Portugal is an absolutely beautiful place imo, the country and the people are just amazing and beautiful.
Just compared to England and France it's another world. Ain't no one gonna tell me people from those countries aren't miserable.
🙏🏼
lol you the man!!!, back
Why don't the locals take some initiative and do something about all the rubbish? Can't someone call the city authorities? Can't imagine fridges, mattresses etc being dumped on a pavement in a residential area here in Poland!
The locals have been doing this long before they moved to Britain so for them it’s home
Predominantly immigrants with no pride in their area.
They do. There are more organised litter picks than ever before and some people pick litter as they walk their dogs every morning.
Fly tipping is usually carried out by house clearance firms than by individuals. Their customers are unaware their old unwanted furniture and belongings have been fly tipped until council inspectors traced them and informed them. The house clearance firms then get massively fined and then their license taken away if they are licensed.

Central Birmingham is great and booming these days. There are good and bad areas in the actual City itself.

That's funny when you were on the train in India reminded me of Birmingham, wonder if there is a connection?

Haha I loved the mildly sarcastic advertisement halfway through.
;)
WOW, really great and enjoyable video as always. The level of irony and symbolism in this video is off the chart whether you realized it or not. You start with the "finding" that "The UK is the second-most miserable nation in the world" (of course laughable on so many levels), but putting that aside, you do it from Birmingham (the City Centre no less) which during the period of the British Empire of course was one of the world's most important Industrial Revolution cities (ergo, how they could afford such a magnificent City Centre). Indeed, Birmingham's importance was shown in part in that it received a visit from Mr. Ghandi on his famous visit to Britain appealing for peaceful separation from the empire. And where do you end the video several days later - The Gateway of India - built by the British Empire to commemorate King George V visit to India for his coronation as the EMPEROR OF INDIA. Mind bending symbolism. Thank you for the experience!
I knew it you would be going to India. Getting the diarrhoea. 😂
Fantastic work on the video Ben & Cat. Stay safe

Ben, you need to come to Salalah in southern Oman. I'll even drive you around mate.
the fly-tipping - that's a massive thing in Asia and it absolutely infuriates me that they're allowed to come over here and do it. But that is because they have people in power who just don't care - they're actively trying to get our country to look and be like theirs

Trains were cheap until they privatised them. Used to go to London, 120 miles away, for about £2 back in the 80's
British Rail was being run down deliberately in the 80s so people would welcome privatisation. But, I would rather have the cheaper and more basic service that British Rail provided than the overpriced service with fancy gizmos that the privatised train operating companies provide. The main railway stations now look like shopping malls with somr people going there to shop and eat not catch a train. There were more frequent trains, more leg room and more carriages per train before it was privatised. Who cares if the on board refreshments were awful. Just bring your own.
Great to see You Ben and Kat 3 extreme places all different enjoying your videos subscriber Australia 🇦🇺

I agree 😢 it’s so sad
It's no surprise to me that Britain's misery falls in line with the decline of Christianity in Britain. Brits replaced God with Football, cheap package booze Holidays to Spanish/Greek Islands and Fried Chicken/Kebab takeaways and now find themselves wondering why they feel so empty.
