They've certainly crafted something very ominous tonally. I did not expect Kris to tell Noelle and Susie what they've been going through. The slow escalation is incredibly well done, with Susie seeming baffled and almost in disbelief that these are real monsters they're killing in section 1, the slow ramp up of plants and robots, to animals and humans, to children in section 2, and the mass murder of monsters, some of which they know, in section 3. I suspect with the way this section went, the three are not going to completely reunite for a while, with them being replaced by other party members through each section. Perhaps Ralsei will stop smoking weed and finally join up with the party? Given that section 4 seems to be taking Kris away from the party, I'm sure they'll come back to the two of them even more broken, having killed both monsters, knights, and heroes. That section is based upon a Link to the Past, so I would expect the final boss of the normal route to likely be either Aghanim or Ganon, with the Obliteration route likely having Link or Zelda as its final boss, which will surely be traumatic. After that, section 5 is based on Underswap (Team Switched's version in particular), and while it COULD have Kris reunite with Noelle and Susie, as those two were left in Undertale's version of Waterfall, I would not be surprised if the party members were the 'swapped' versions of Noelle and Susie, which I could only presume to be other classmates like Berdly and Catti. Presumably we'd get another slow burn of them realizing how messed up 'Kris' is being, with the final boss of that section for both routes likely being Underswap Alphys, given that it's going to be the Underswap equivalent of Waterfall. Section 6 is meant to be Bowser's Inside Story (specifically the Energy Hold), and this is where I'm less certain. Taking us away from Noelle and Susie for more than two sections feels like it would drain away a lot of the tension that had built up between the three of them, and so I would expect them to either show up at the end of 5 and join Kris here, or have Kris party up with Mario and Luigi and encounter the two of them along the way. Though, if Kris partners up with them, I kinda expect them to JUST partner up with Luigi, since he could perhaps be pushed around as easily as Noelle gets pushed around in the Snowgrave route. It could even be that Kris partners with Noelle and Luigi and slowly drives them both to do their bidding. Final boss for this section is a tough one. For the normal route probably either Wisdurm (who is the boss of the area in the actual game of Bowser's inside story), or Fawful (not sure how it'd fit in with M&L narratively, but the prior sections have had a theme of irredeemable villains for their bosses, and Fawful fits the bill). For the obliteration route, probably Mario, Luigi, and Starlow. After that is another intermission based on regular Undertale, likely dealing with Hotland/The Lab, maybe even True Lab, and if they haven't already FINALLY reconvening with Noelle and Susie with them being shocked in the obliteration route at how passive Kris has become after unsuccessfully trying to stop the murderous rampage for so long. Meet with Alphys, and one way or another they end up going into another door. Section 7 is supposed to be Toon Town Online, which I've never played so I can't really speculate about this one. Another intermission based on Undertale, explicitly stated to be the Judgement Hall. Likely where we'll be judged by Sans. However on the Obliteration route, given the dialogue during the dream at the Bunny House in Section 3, it seems likely that this will be where Kris is "cleansed of their sins". Likely meaning that we, the player, will be removed from them and put into the Vessel that we made, and then perhaps fight either Sans and the Delta Warriors, or just Kris. In fact, on the normal route we'll still probably get put into the Vessel at this point, it just won't be met with hostility on Kris' part. Presumable as the Vessel we head back to the Core and it leading into the Lost Core section, which we saw a little bit of at the end of Hard Mode. Fight Gaster on the normal route, fight Dess on the Obliteration route. Game ends, with us probably seeing Ralsei afterwards and him claiming he had been trying to reach us the entire time but it hadn't worked out super well, hence the weed-smoking Ralsei showing up in his stead. Of course having said all of that, the trajectory of some future sections may change depending on how canon Deltarune goes. It took RynoGG and the team a little under a year for section 2, and about a year and a half for section 3, so with five more sections to go, I anticipate that that we've got another good 4 or 5 years before this one finishes up, especially with there being such a need for custom assets through most of the rest of it.

I wonder if this games interpretation of kris taking their heart out is like they need to keep forcing breaths to maintain themselves with it. Like how normally everything can be on auto pilot but without it they’re like slowly draining themselves on whatever energy they had before pulling it. Id imagine its similar for main kris too to some degree as they do it often. They’ve known how it works before we play as them of course too so it begs a interesting question of what the “player’s” effect on them really is. Beyond just the whole connection deal of gaster putting us into kris probably.

I love the detail where being overtly edgy and evil around Toriel and Noelle causes Kris to rebel against the player and kill them for it. Even Kris has their limits and will NOT tolerate any of this around their beloved friends and family

I played both undertale and deltarune full pacifist and whdn i started playing this games genocide route ... That was pain. But not because it was hard. No. It gave me a huge hearthache when i killed those monsters.😢😢 undertale is the only game you can feel this kinda pain. And there is a reason why i didnt play undertale's genocide route. I couldnt. After killing toriel i cried and closed the game. And this fan game also made me feel like this. it was pretty good game almost good as toby's games.
The part with the "Don't hurt the children" Was actually heartbreaking. I was dreading the fight with paula and ness. I'm on it now and I'm scared to actually fight
Simple explanation. Since Toriel is like a mother to kris (even if she’s a boss monster and his human) he won’t do anything to harm her even if the soul (or in this case the player) choose/tell him to. If you want me to say it without it being long he ain’t killing his mother
Okay, two things. One, another word for the genocide route is the weird route. A route you weren't supposed to take. Undertale and Deltarune were made go be played pacifisticly. Killing everything you see results in a bad ending, unlike other games. So, Kris getting a concussion from a frying pan to the face was entirely your fault. Simply not committing mass genocide wouldn't trigger the command. And two, that mechanism is a reference to Earthbound. In the game, Ness would have the same effects Kris got, where they sometimes couldn't fight. But instead of that being from a concussion, it was of homesickness. So, no. The mechanism isn't a bad idea, at least in my opinion.
I found this game a week ago and fell in love with it immediate. Then I reached the Ness boss fight and couldn't pass him.. so now I'm here instead. As much as I'd love to experience the rest of this game first hand, I doubt I'd be able to handle even tougher bosses. So thanks for uploading this. ❤️
It is better not to read my comment, here in the comment I will only tell you the disappointment of section 3 on the obliteration route. Initially, after section 2 on the obliteration route, I thought it would look promising, but after section 3 on the obliteration route, this route begins to disappoint me, because not only is Susie behaving normally and pretty here, and after sleep Kris(not always) and Noelle also behave normally, so and before the battle of GGfell!Sans, Susie starts hypocritical about killing children. Some people will certainly disagree with me, yes, I understand that in section 3 on the obliteration route there are unique things, an interruption and some changes, but damn it all because of the lack of atmosphere and little change, it now resembles the neutral route. When I first went through the pacifist route in section 3, my impressions were good. Even so, Section 3 remains the most favorite section in terms of the pacifist/neutral route If the obliteration route is fixed in v3.1.0, then I will be very happy, and if it is not fixed, then I will never go through the obliteration route, I will not even watch the passage and listen to OST(DT:OR)! I hope that I will be understood.

And yes, as far as I'm concerned, Susie should remain as gloomy on the obliteration route, and okay, if the obliteration route was interrupted in section 3, then yes. I would really like Kris, Susie and Noelle face to remain gloomy in battle and in the world on the obliteration route, I would also like to skip some puzzles and, what else spoils the atmosphere is the laughter of Susie and Noelle during the obliteration route. And yes, it's a pity that the dialogues of the final boss have not changed, I still do not understand why the changes of the same Flowey were not repeated. And I also wanted to kill some of the characters in section 3, not just Dogamy and Dogaressa on the obliteration route. That's all I thought about it.
To be fair, this is a story. Things calming down is normal, even with a genocide route. I'd know. I'm a writer. You gotta give the viewer a break from all the gore. I know that some people absolutely love the continuous cycle of angst, (I can very obviously see you're one of those people) but there are also people who like to have some wholesomeness in between it. That's what I like. I absolutely love angst, but I will jump off a cliff if I don't see my favorite characters have a happy moment together. So, I'm very sure that the killing spree will continue in section 4. It's just that section 3 was a break. Oh, and the reason Susie, Noelle, and Kris got less depressed was because Susie and Noelle were relieved that Kris wasn't actually the one who did the killing, and because Kris was happy that they knew. The situation is still dire, but with more helping hands, the stress gets lifted a little. Kris isn't alone anymore, and Susie and Noelle get reassured. In turn, their spirits get lifted. Put yourself in their shoes. If you were in a stressful situation where there's seemingly no way out, and you're given a strand of hope, you're gonna be clinging onto it for dear life. Susie, Noelle, and Kris have found their strand of hope. Now they just need to figure out how to climb back to the light. One last thing. If you're gonna say that, "Undertale's genocide route was only killing and with no wholesome breaks, so why doesn't Deltatraveler do the same?" then you should know that this is a fangame. People can do what they want in fan games. The creator most likely loves angst and gore, but also wholesome moments. I am the same. The reason I love this route is because of the angst and gore I get in section 2, and because of the wholesomeness in section 3. (Specifically that one scene in QC's house because I literally wanted to hug Kris right through the screen, and I love when fiction makes me want to do that) You can do whatever you want with this game, I physically can't stop you. You can love section 3, or you can hate it. Just know that it was written like this for a certain reason, and was aimed at a certain audience.

From my experience she just doesn’t get devious. Attacking Susie is pretty much hard mode for section 3 and possibly above.

Okay, two things. One, another word for the genocide route is the weird route. A route you weren't supposed to take. Undertale and Deltarune were made go be played pacifisticly. Killing everything you see results in a bad ending, unlike other games. So, Kris getting a concussion from a frying pan to the face was entirely your fault. Simply not committing mass genocide wouldn't trigger the command. And two, that mechanism is a reference to Earthbound. In the game, Ness would have the same effects Kris got, where they sometimes couldn't fight. But instead of that being from a concussion, it was of homesickness. So, no. The mechanism isn't a bad idea, at least in my opinion.

I found this game a week ago and fell in love with it immediate.
Then I reached the Ness boss fight and couldn't pass him.. so now I'm here instead. As much as I'd love to experience the rest of this game first hand, I doubt I'd be able to handle even tougher bosses.

It is better not to read my comment, here in the comment I will only tell you the disappointment of section 3 on the obliteration route.
Initially, after section 2 on the obliteration route, I thought it would look promising, but after section 3 on the obliteration route, this route begins to disappoint me, because not only is Susie behaving normally and pretty here, and after sleep Kris(not always) and Noelle also behave normally, so and before the battle of GGfell!Sans, Susie starts hypocritical about killing children. Some people will certainly disagree with me, yes, I understand that in section 3 on the obliteration route there are unique things, an interruption and some changes, but damn it all because of the lack of atmosphere and little change, it now resembles the neutral route.
When I first went through the pacifist route in section 3, my impressions were good. Even so, Section 3 remains the most favorite section in terms of the pacifist/neutral route
If the obliteration route is fixed in v3.1.0, then I will be very happy, and if it is not fixed, then I will never go through the obliteration route, I will not even watch the passage and listen to OST(DT:OR)!
I hope that I will be understood.

@@cannon9009 Initially, I expected that after the death of Ness and Paula. I thought that when the first Snowdrake starts attacking, and Susie starts threatening him with a big branch in response. And yes, as far as I'm concerned, Susie should remain as gloomy on the obliteration route, and okay, if the obliteration route was interrupted in section 3, then yes. I would really like Kris, Susie and Noelle face to remain gloomy in battle and in the world on the obliteration route, I would also like to skip some puzzles and, what else spoils the atmosphere is the laughter of Susie and Noelle during the obliteration route. And yes, it's a pity that the dialogues of the final boss have not changed, I still do not understand why the changes of the same Flowey were not repeated. And I also wanted to kill some of the characters in section 3, not just Dogamy and Dogaressa on the obliteration route.
That's all I thought about it.
To be fair, this is a story. Things calming down is normal, even with a genocide route. I'd know. I'm a writer. You gotta give the viewer a break from all the gore. I know that some people absolutely love the continuous cycle of angst, (I can very obviously see you're one of those people) but there are also people who like to have some wholesomeness in between it. That's what I like. I absolutely love angst, but I will jump off a cliff if I don't see my favorite characters have a happy moment together. So, I'm very sure that the killing spree will continue in section 4. It's just that section 3 was a break.
Oh, and the reason Susie, Noelle, and Kris got less depressed was because Susie and Noelle were relieved that Kris wasn't actually the one who did the killing, and because Kris was happy that they knew. The situation is still dire, but with more helping hands, the stress gets lifted a little. Kris isn't alone anymore, and Susie and Noelle get reassured. In turn, their spirits get lifted. Put yourself in their shoes. If you were in a stressful situation where there's seemingly no way out, and you're given a strand of hope, you're gonna be clinging onto it for dear life. Susie, Noelle, and Kris have found their strand of hope. Now they just need to figure out how to climb back to the light.
One last thing. If you're gonna say that, "Undertale's genocide route was only killing and with no wholesome breaks, so why doesn't Deltatraveler do the same?" then you should know that this is a fangame. People can do what they want in fan games. The creator most likely loves angst and gore, but also wholesome moments. I am the same. The reason I love this route is because of the angst and gore I get in section 2, and because of the wholesomeness in section 3. (Specifically that one scene in QC's house because I literally wanted to hug Kris right through the screen, and I love when fiction makes me want to do that)
You can do whatever you want with this game, I physically can't stop you. You can love section 3, or you can hate it. Just know that it was written like this for a certain reason, and was aimed at a certain audience.
